Objective To study and evaluate the ability of allogeneic bone marrow stromal cells(BMSCs) to survive and regenerate bone in muscles without using immunosuppressive agents. Methods A complete mismatch between donor BMSCs and recipient rabbit was confirmed by one way mixed lymphocyte reaction assaysprior to implantation. And then bone marrow aspirates were obtained from donor rabbits.BMSCs were isolated from the bone marrow, cultured in conditional medium to be ubdyced to become osteogenic, and then to examine these characteristics. After that the donor BMSCs were transplanted into the recipient rabbits. Immunological tests such as lymphocyte transformation rate and cell mediated cytotoxity, histological observation, seeding cells survival and bone formation were performed following transplantation. Results Allogeneic BMSCs transplantation did not actually elicit an adverse immune response, and bone regenerated at the transplantation area, and then the transplanted BMSCs marked with BRDU preoperatively were founded to be living 8 weeks later after transplantation using immunohistochemistric technique. Conclusion Allogeneic BMSCs would not elicit an adverse immune response in vivo without the immunosuppressive therapy, which could survive and form new bone tissue with the help of BMP-2 in the muscles.

Objective To evaluate the left ventricular systolic function of uremic patients after peritoneal dialysis measured by two-dimensional speckle tracking imaging. Methods Thirty uremic patients with their left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) > 50% who had not been underwent dialysis were enrolled in this study. Thirty healthy volunteers were involved as controls. For both groups, the basic data and routine cardiac ultrasound parameters were measured, and the images were collected to be analyzed by QLab software. The left ventricular 16-segment time-strain curves were obtained, and the peak strain of the systolic phase of each segment was measured. The data of 2 groups were analyzed by two independent samples t-test. After 6 months of peritoneal dialysis, the uremic patients were checked again. By using paired t-test, we analyzed the difference in left ventricular systolic dysfunction of uremic patients before and after peritoneal dialysis. Results (1) Comparison between uremia group (nondialysis patients) and control group: systolic arterial pressure, diastolic arterial pressure and pulse pressure of uremic patients increased (t=-4.445,-4.531 and-2.203, P<0.05); left atrial anterior and posterior diameter (LAAPD), left ventricular end diastolic diameter (LVEDD), left ventricular end systolic diameter (LVESD), left ventricular end diastolic volume (LVEDV), left ventricular end systolic volume (LVESV) and left ventricular mass index (LVMI) of uremic patients were larger. Objective:To investigate the effects of forced-air warming blankets combined with conventional warming strategies on the quality of postoperative recovery and cognitive recovery in elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer. Methods:This was a prospective, randomized, controlled trial.A total of 70 patients aged 65-75 years, who were classified as American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA)grade-Ⅱ or Ⅲ, undergoing the laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer under general anesthesia, were enrolled.Patients were randomly divided into two groups: the forced-air warming group(group FAW, n=35)and the conventional warming group(group CW, n=35). The inadvertent perioperative hypothermia(IPH), postoperative shivering, postoperative agitation, anesthesia recovery time and other postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. The post-operative quality of recovery scale(PQRS)was used to evaluate the quality of postoperative recovery and the recovery of cognitive function before and 1, 3, and 7 days after operation. Results:As compared with the group CW, the group FAW showed that the incidences of IPH, postoperative shivering and agitation were decreased(5.7% vs.22.8%, 2.8% vs.28.6%, 5.7% vs.31.4%, χ2=4.200, 10.057 and 7.652, P=0.042, 0.003 and 0.006), and the satisfaction degree of patients was increased at 48 hours after operation( P<0.01). The postoperative wake-up time was prolonged in the group CW as compared with the group FAW( P<0.01). Compared with the group CW, the proportion of patients with excellent overall recovery quality was increased in the group FAW 1 day after surgery( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in general recovery quality and cognitive recovery between the two groups at 3 and 7 days after operation. Conclusions:For elderly patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of colorectal cancer, the forced-air warming blanket combined with conventional warming strategies is more helpful to decrease the incidence of IPH, reduce postoperative shivering and improve the overall recovery quality at 1 day after operation, but no significant effect on postoperative recovery of cognitive function is found.
