[Objective]To investigate the clinical result of the Chinese traditional medicine combed with western medicine treatment for proximal humerus malunited fracture.[Method]Twenty-nine patients including 24 men and 5 women with malunion of proximal humerus were treated with the locking proximal plate.The average age of patients was 41.6 years old(from 21 to 53 years old).According to Neet classification on X ray,20 cases were two-part fractures and 9 cases were three-part fractures.These patients were treated by combination of Chinese traditional and western medicine,with the help of the functional training.All patients with proximal humerus malunited fracture were treated by operations with locking proximal humerus plate.A herbal bath was used to bathe after surgery.[Result]All 29 cases were available for follow-up.The average time for bony union on X ray was 9.6 weeks(from 8 to 12 weeks).Nonunion was not found in all cases.According to the Neer scoring system,there were 23 excellent cases,4 good case and 2 fair case.The excellent and good rate was 93.1%.[Conclusion]In dealing with proximal humerus malunited fracture,the advantages of the locking proximal humerus plate are minimally invasive with reliable fixation,few complication and the high bone union rate.A herbal bath can fasten recovering the function of the shoulder.Chinese traditional medicine combined with western medicine treatment can make satisfactory result and it is an effective method to recover the function of the shoulder.

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the effect of delayed entry(0-24 h) into BacT/Alert 3D and BACTEC 9120 and the effect of 2 incubation temperatures(22 ℃ vs 35 ℃) on culture positivity.METHODS We utilized the BacT/Alert system with FA bottles and the BACTEC 9120 system with Plus(Aerobic) bottles.Four clinical bacterial species,Staphylococcus aureus,Escherichia coli,Streptococus pneumoniae,Candida albicans,were used as the test strains.and 5 ml of blood were added to each bottle.Each species was inoculated into the bottles 3 times at an inoculum size of 10 CFU/ml,102 CFU/ml and 108 CFU/ml,respectively.The inoculated bottles were cultured using the respective instruments after they were allowed to stand at room temperature(22 ℃)and 35 ℃ for 0,8,16 and 24 h.Time-to-detection and culture positivity were evaluated.RESULTS The delay in transportation of blood culture bottles stored at room temperature(22 ℃) or 35 ℃ had no effect on the recovery rate for BACTEC 3D at less than 24 h preincubation time and for BacT/Alert 9120 at less than 16h preincubation time.The positivity rate decreased significantly for BacT/Alert 9120 for 24 h of delay.Culture positivity of BacT/Alert 3D was higher than BACTEC 9120 for 24 h of delay.CONCLUSIONS The delayed entry for BacT/Alert 3D should be within 24 h,but the delayed entry for BACTEC 9120 should be within 16 h.

Objective:To explore the effect of radiotherapy on the FHIT protein expression and cell apoptosis of cervical squamous carcinoma and discuss the relationship between FHIT protein expression and cell apoptosis. Methods:Expression of FHIT protein was measured by immunohistochemical method and cell apoptosis was detected by TdT-mediated dUTP terminal nick end labeling (TUNEL) staining in 50 cases of squamous cell cervical carcinoma at ⅡB-ⅢB stages before, during (Dt 10 Gy and Dt 30 Gy), and after radiotherapy. Results:Of the 50 patients, the positive rates of the expression of FHIT protein was 56% at Dt 10 Gy, 68% at Dt 30 Gy, and 84% after radiotherapy, which were significantly increased compared with that before radiotherapy (36%, P<0.05). The positive rates of cell apoptosis was 52% at Dt 10 Gy, 64% at Dt 30 Gy and 78% after radiotherapy, which were significantly elevated compared with that before radiotherapy (28%, P<0.05). In the process of radiotherapy, cell apoptosis was positively related to the expression of FHIT protein (P<0.05). Conclusion:Radiotherapy reinforces the expression of FHIT protein and induces apoptosis cocurrently. FHIT protein has regulatory effects in cell apoptosis induced by radiotherapy.

Objective:To observe the diuretic action of Liniao Capsules (LC). Methods: The urinary effects of LC were studied in the loading rats with water.Results: LC could significantly increase the urinary output, shorten the latent period of emiction, and reduce the contents of TP in urine and BUN in blood serum. Conclusion: LC exerted the significant diuretic effect in rats.

Objective To investigate the effect of Pericarpium Zanthoxyli (HJ) on guinea pigs trachea in vitro and its therapeutic mechanism. Methods The actions of HJ on the contraction of normal trachea and on the spasm of spasmodic tracheas caused by acetylcholine (Ach) and histamine phosphate (HIS), as well as the actions on intracellular Ca2+ - dependent contraction and extracellular Ca2+ - dependent contraction induced by HIS were observed. Results HJ could inhibit the guinea pigs trachea contraction , antagonize the contraction of trachea spasm induced by Ach and HIS , restrain the extracellular Ca2+ - dependent contraction induced by HIS in a dose- dependent manner. Conclusion HJ has an antiasthma effect.

OBJECTIVE To type Staphylococcus epidermidis and analyze its polymorphism by randomly amplified polymorphic DNA(RAPD),and provide the method for analysis of homogeneity of S.epidermidis.METHODS Twenty one collected strains from ophthalmology ward were analyzed using random primer RAPD1 with RAPD.RESULTS On the basis of bands,difference of clinical strains was analyzed.Twenty one strians of S.epidermidis were divided into 5 patterns.Among them type Ⅰ taken 71 percent(15/21).CONCLUSIONS Typing of S.epidermidis by RAPD at molecular level is very rapid,easy and reliable.It can apply to track pathogens of the hospital and study epidemiology of the bacteria.

Objective To evaluate the contribution of gyrA and parE detection in Ureaplasma genotyping.Methods Sixty Ureaplasma isolates were selected with the Mycoplasma IST kit.The gyrA and parE were amplified by PCR.The DNA was sequenced and compared with the corresponding sequences in GenBank.Results The nucleotide sequence of gyrA had 100% identity in serovar 1,3,6,14 and 100%identity in serovar 2,4,5,7～13,too.But the sequence had 91%identity between the two groups.The nucleotide sequence of parE had 98%～99% identity in serovar 1,3,6,14.And it had 100% identity in erovar 2,5,7,8,11 and 100% identity in serovar4,12,13.But it had only 90% identity between the two groups.Ureaplasma parvum(Up),Ureaplasma urealyticum(Uu)and Up+Uu infection were found 68.3%(41/60),21.7%(13/60)and 10%(6/60) of clinical specimens,respectively.In Up isolates,serovar 3 was 48.8%(20/41).Conclusion Ureaplasma can be divided into two genotypes(Up and Uu)by gyrA analysis.And Up can be divided into four subtypes which correspond to serovar 1,3,6,14,respectively.Serovar 3 is the main isolate in our research.

Objective To investigate the expression fragile histidinetriad (FHIT) protein in cervical carcinoma and its relationship with clinicopathological feature of the disease. Methods Immunohistochemistry SP was used to detect the expression of FHIT protein in 20 cases with chronic cervsis and 95 cases with Ⅰ aⅢ b stage cervical carcinoma before and after treatment. The association of the expression of FHIT with clinicopathological feature was analyzed by the statistical method. Results There were significant differences between FHIT expression and histological grades and types of tissue, lymph node metastasis and invade depth (P ＜0.05). FHIT expression was not correlated with age and clinical stage (P ＞0.05). There were significant differences in FHIT protein expression levels in the patients with cervial cancer between before-after radiotherapy and the levels before radiotherapy was lower then those after radiotherapy (P ＜0.05). There was positively correlated in FHIT protein expression rates before and after radiotherapy (P ＜0.05). There were significant correlation between FHIT expression and 3-year survival rate, the positive rates of the expression FHIT protein higher then negative ones (P ＜0.05). Conclusion FHIT protein has great reference value that could be as a parameter for evaluating biological action and predicting the prognosis of cervical cancer.

Objective To observe the morphology changes in articular cartilage of knee osteoarthritis ( KOA) model rats after intervention with Shudi Jisheng Zhuanggu Decoction (SJZD). Methods SD rats were randomized into 7 groups, namely blank control group, model group, Paracetamol group ( 0.270 g/kg) , Zhuangu Guanjie Pills group ( 1.08 g/kg) , and high-, middle- and low-dosage SJZD groups ( 27.450, 13.725, 6.863 g/kg, respectively). Rats were injected with papain solution into the right knee joint to build models of KOA before administration of drugs. Thickness of right knee joint was measured to evaluate the effect of SJZD on the swelling degree of knee joint. Histological changes of knee cartilage were evaluated by Mankin scoring method after the cartilage sections being stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE). Results Swelling degree of knee joint and Mankin scores were significantly increased in the model group compared to the blank control group ( P<0.01). In comparison with the model group, the swelling degree of knee joint and Mankin scores of SJZD groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05 or P<0.01), and the pathological changes were relieved. Conclusion SJZD can ameliorate the pathological changes of knee articular cartilage in rats with KOA, so as to delay cartilage degeneration and protect the cartilage.

Objective To evaluate the refinement process for extracting Herba Artemisiae Scopariae(HAS) with macroporous resin.Methods With reservation rate of main peak in the fingerprint as the index,the refinement process for extract of HAS was evaluated.The safety of oral administration of HAS extract before and after refinement process was evaluated by detecting serum levels of alanine aminotransferase(ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase(AST),observing the hepatic histopathological changes in mice model of CCl4-induced acute hepatic injury,and by mice acute toxicity experiment.Results The fingerprint of HAS extract before and after treatment was similar,the difference of their hepatoprotective effect was insignificant,and there was no obvious acute toxic reaction of HAS extract before and after refinement.Conclusion This experiment verified the rationality of the refinement process for extracting Herba Artemisiae Scopariae with macroporous resin by the method of pharmacodynamics combining with HPLC fingerprint.
