1.Observations on the Treatment of 32 Cases of Insomnia by Manipulations of Digital-pressing Acupoints and Tuina along Meridians
Journal of Acupuncture and Tuina Science 2004;2(5):30-32
Five kinds of manipulations of plucking, circular rubbing, pecking, pinching and patting were performed on the channels of Governor Vessel and bilateral Bladder Meridian. According to syndrome differentiation, all the 32 cases were divided into 5 syndromes of the stagnated liver-qi causing fire syndrome, the phlegm-heat attacking upper parts syndrome, the hyperactivity of fire due to yindeficiency syndrome, the deficiency of both heart and spleen syndrome and the timidity due to insufficiency of qi and deficiency of blood of the heart syndrome and were then treated by different manipulations. After 2 courses of treatment, 25 cases were cured, 7 cases got marked effectiveness,no case failed and the effective rate was 100%.
2.Proteins and signaling pathway in endotoxic effect
Chinese Pharmacological Bulletin 2003;0(12):-
This article reviews the proteins and transduction pat hw ay in endotoxic action. Lipopolysaccharide-binding protein(LBP) binds and trans ports the LPS to its receptors, which include CD14 and CD11/CD18. Toll-like rec eptors(TLRs) is closely associated with transducting the signals into cytoplasm. Scavenger receptors are related to hepatic clearance on endotoxin .The intracel lular signal transduction is involved in several paths which finally leads to t he release of cytokines.

Objective To detect the relationship between the genotypes of the 2642 deletion polymorphism (delta 2642) in IT15 gene and the age of onset of Huntington disease (HD). Methods Peripheral blood samples were collected from 29 patients with HD and 38 gender- and age-matched controls. All patients with HD were diagnosed by gene diagnosis. The CAG trinucleotide repeats of the 29 patients with HD outnumbered 40. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis technique were used to detect the genotypes of delta 2642. Results No B/B genotype was detected in both 2 groups. The genotype frequencies of A/A and A/B in the IT15 delta 2642 polymorphism was 65.5% and 34. 5% in HD patients,92. 1% and 7. 9% in the controls respectively (x2 = 7. 435, P =0. 006). The frequency of the B allele was 17.2% in the HD group and 3. 9% in the control group (P = 0. 010, OR = 5.07, 95% CI 1.47-15.12). Analysis showed no significant difference between A/A genotype patients and A/B genotype patients for CAG trinucleotide repeats(P =0. 188). HD patients with A/B genotype (37.33±6. 46) had an earlier onset than the patients with A/A genotype (47.10± 10. 86, t = 2. 491, P = 0. 019). Conclusions These data demonstrated that variations in IT15 delta 2642 polymorphisms may be a genetic factor that influences the variability in HD age of onset. HD patients with delta 2642 A/B genotype have an earlier onset than the patients with A/A genotype.

Objective To investigate the apoptosis in gastric cancer induced by trichosanthin, and the relationship between this apoptosis and expression of bcl2. Methods In in vitro experiments, morphologic test and TUNEL staining method were used to quantitatively and qualitively detect the apoptosis status of gastric adenocarcinoma cell line SGC7901 before and after the trichosanthin treatment. Immunohistochemical staining method and Northern Blot hybridization were used for detecting expression status of apoptosisrelated genes bcl2, before and after trichosanthin treatment. Results When SGC7901 cells were treated with trichosanthin (0.1 ?g/ml, 36 h), they presented some typical apoptotic morphologic changes observed by fluorescent staining. These morphologic changes include nuclear condensation, nucleosomal fragments forming a lunate body under nuclear membrane, etc. When SGC7901 cells were treated with trichosanthin at the concentration 0.1 ?g/ml for 36 h,42 h and 48 h, respectively, TUNEL staining showed a significant increase of apoptotic index (AI), from 3.78%?1.11%, 3.98%?1.12%,3.85%?1.08%, respectively, to 11.30% ? 2.33%, 10.22% ?2.00%,11.18%?1.85%(P

Objective To investigate the relationship between care need and quality of life of community hypertensive patients. Methods Stratified random sampling method was used to investigate 456community hypertensive patients using patients general information questionnaire, the World Health Organization Quality of Life BREF (WHOQOL-BREF)and community patients care needs questionnaire and the results underwent analysis. Results The care needs of the community hypertensive patients were at a medium level, all areas of quality of life were lower than the norm.Quality of life and care needs were negatively correlated. Conclusions The staff should assess the care needs of the community hypertensive patients, supply patient-oriented community nursing service, and take measures to improve quality of life of the community hypertensive patients.

Objective To evaluate the usefulness of ultrasonography in detecting parathyroid lesions in the patients with hyperparathyroidism. Methods The results of ultrasonography were compared with operative and histologic findings, and other imaging techniques such as 99m-Tc-sestamibi scintigraphy and CT in 210 patients with proved hyperparathyroidism. Results The overall sensitivity and specificity of ultrasonography in detecting parathyroid lesions were 68.62%, 93.79%. Lesions at lower pole of thyroid were more likely to be detected than ectopic ones. Ultrasonography was helpful in diagnosis of parathyroid adenoma, hyperplasia or carcinoma when combined with clinical manifestations. Conclusions Ultrasonography is a useful means in preoperative localizing of hyperparathyroidism.

China Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy 2005;0(01):-
Professor ZHANG Lei is one of the most renowned doctors in traditional Chinese medicine. He is good at treating miscellaneous disease of internal medicine, and summarizes eight clinical therapy from long-term clinical practice, and cleaning turbidity therapy is one of the most characteristic therapy. Cleaning turbidity therapy is founded under today's improvement of living standards and changes of lifestyle where more and more turbidity syndromes are caused. Qianjin Weijing Decoction is used as main prescription and modified according to different zang-fu where turbidity syndromes are located. On account of cleaning turbidity therapy is one of the eliminating pathogens therapy, strengthening healthy qi must be used according to power of healthy qi, especially healthy qi of spleen and stomach.

China Pharmacy 2005;0(20):-
OBJECTIVE:To observe the other effects of cimetidine in the decompensated stage of chronic cardiopulmonary disease. METHODS: 72 patients with uncompensated chronic cardiopulmonary disease were assigned into therapy group and control group (n=36). Both groups were given routine treatment. Therapy group were additionally treated with cimetidine intravenously for 48 h. The changes of respiration frequency, arterial partial pressure of oxygen (PaO2), arterial partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2), intake of staple food and electrolytes in blood serum of 2 groups before and after treatment were determined. RESULTS:In therapy group, the respiration frequency, the level of PaCO2 and disorder of electrolytes in blood serum were decreased and the level of PaO2 and intake of staple food were increased. Above items of therapy group were all different from that of control group (P
