BACKGROUND:In recent years, commonly used removable partial denture materials include Vitalium200 material, cobalt-chromium aloys and titanium materials. OBJECTIVE:To explore the value of different removable partial dentures in the repair of dentition defects. METHODS: Ninety cases of dentition defects, including 45 males and 45 females, aged 20-57 years old, were subject to removable partial denture repair. Among them, 30 cases were treated with Vitalium2000 removable partial dentures, 30 cases with titanium removable partial dentures, and 30 cases with cobalt-chromium removable partial denture. Denture inplace rate, incidence rates of denture stomatitis, periodontal disease and secondary caries, patient satisfaction self-evaluation were compared between three groups within 2 years after implantation. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Vitalium2000 material group was superior to pure titanium and cobalt-chromium aloy groups in the denture inplace rate, incidence rates of denture stomatitis, periodontal disease and secondary caries (P < 0.05). Patients in the Vitalium2000 material group were more satisfied with lightweight and comfort, aesthetics, chewing ability, odor degree of removable partial dentures than those in the other two groups (P < 0.05). These findings suggest that Vitalium2000 removable partial dentures can better improve the denture in place rate, reduce the incidence of denture stomatitis, periodontal disease and secondary caries, ensuring the comfort level and aesthetics of dentures.

Abstract: Objective　To investigate the status of participation in highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) among individuals infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)/patients with acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) (hereinafter referred to as HIV/AIDS) in Hainan province, and to analyze the immunological outcomes and their influencing factors following treatment. Methods　In this study, HIV/AIDS patients treated in Hainan Province until 2022 from the antiretroviral treatment were selected from the antiviral treatment submodule of the China Disease Prevention and Control Information System. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 3 150 HIV/AIDS patients were enrolled. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze factors affecting the immunological effect of antiretroviral therapy. Results　Of the 3 150 subjects, 2 906 achieved immunological success, accounting for 92.2%. The M（P25，P75） CD4+T lymphocyte count after treatment was 491 (351, 656) cells/μL. There were significant differences in the increase in CD4+ T lymphocyte counts after treatment compared to baseline across different CD4+T levels (P<0.001). Multifactorial logistic regression analysis showed that being divorced or widowed (OR=0.50, 95%CI: 0.31-0.79), age ≥60 years at the onset of treatment (OR=0.51, 95%CI: 0.29-0.90), the interval from diagnosis to treatment of 1 to <12 months (OR=0.55, 95%CI: 0.40-0.77), 12 to <60 months (OR=0.53, 95%CI: 0.34-0.80), and ≥60 months (OR=0.41, 95%CI: 0.23-0.75), as well as a CD4+ T cell count of 300 to <400 cells/μL (OR=0.36, 95%CI:0.22-0.58) and 400 to <500 cells/μL (OR=0.30, 95%CI:0.18-0.49) were negative correlation with immunological success (P<0.05). On the other hand, homosexual transmission (OR=3.46, 95%CI:2.03-5.90), heterosexual transmission (OR=1.91, 95%CI: 1.14-3.19), other/unknown transmission (OR=3.13, 95%CI: 1.50-6.53), treatment years count 2 to <4 years (OR=1.71, 95%CI: 1.13-2.58), 4 to <6 years (OR=2.86, 95%CI: 1.81-4.51), and ≥6 years (OR=2.21, 95%CI: 1.47-3.32) were positive correlation with immunological success (P<0.05). Conclusions　The highly active antiretroviral therapy has achieved good immunological effects among patients with HIV/AIDS in Hainan Province. It is essential to expand HIV monitoring and detection, to diagnose and treat at an early stage, and to continue strengthening medication compliance education to further improve the immunological effects of treatment.

ObjectiveTo investigate the effects of ziprasidone on the behavior and the expression of pERK1/2 in posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) model rats.Methods 24 adult male SD rats weighing (200 ±20) g were randomly divided into four groups (n =6):control group,single prolonged stress and foot shock (SPS&S) group,ziprasidone group and ziprasidone + U0126 group.The fear response to environment,high alertness,and anxiety & depression behavior of rats were tested by the open field,elevated plus-maze,and the expression of pERK1/2 was measured by Western blot.ResultsIn open field test(OFT),the SPS&S group( (76.23 ± 54.76) cm for horizontal motion distance,(4.60 ± 1.14) for the number of entering central region) showed significant difference compared with control group ( (343.77 ± 74.22 ) cm,( 12.40 ± 3.36 ) ) or ziprasidone group ( ( 274.98± 83.56) cm,( 12.00 ± 2.92) ) (P ＜ 0.01 ),but showed no significant difference with ziprasidone + U0126 group ( ( 138.14 ± 41.98) cm,(5.00 ± 1.58) ) (P ＞ 0.05 ).The results of elevated plus maze (EPM) were in accordance with the results of OFT.The expression of pERK1/2 in SPS&S group and ziprasidone + U0126 group showed significant decrease when compared with control group or ziprasidone group (P ＜ 0.01 ).ConclusionZiprasidone can obviously improve fear response to environment,high alterness and anxiety & depression behavior of rats,and these effects of ziprasidone may be carried out by up-regulation the expression of pERK1/2.

Objective: To learn the epidemiological characteristics of fall mortality among the elderly people in Taizhou，and to provide basis for intervention strategies of fall in the elderly. Methods: Data of fall mortality among residents aged 60 years or over in Taizhou from 2016 to 2018，collected from Zhejiang Chronic Disease Surveillance Information Management System，was used for analysis of time，population and geographical characteristics of fall deaths. The epidemic trend of fall mortality in the elderly was described by annual percentage change（APC）. Results: From 2016 to 2018，3 699 cases of fall death in Taizhou were reported，the crude and standardized mortality were 116.90/100 000 and 97.88/100 000. The standardized mortality of fall in women was 106.11/100 000，which was higher than 90.13/100 000 in men（P<0.05）. The standardized mortality of fall in rural residents was 131.20/100 000，which was higher than 28.15/100 000 in urban residents（P<0.05）. The mortality of fall in residents aged 65-69 years from 2016 to 2018 showed an upward trend（APC=4.20%，P<0.05），while the mortality trend of fall in other age groups was not statistically significant（P>0.05）. Conclusion Fall was the first cause of injury death in the elderly aged 60 years or over in Taizhou. Females and rural residents have relatively higher fall mortality.

Objective To explore the anti-tumor effect of 17XL strains of Plasmodium yoelii(P.y)infection on melanoma in mice. Methods B16F10 tumor cells were axillarilly injected into the right flank of 20 C57BL/6 mice to establish tumor-bearing mouse models. The next day,the mice were randomly divided into a P.y infection group and control group,10 mice each group. Each mouse of the P.y infection group was intraperitoneally injected with 1×106 red blood cells including 20% P.y infection red blood cells,and each one of the control group were intraperitoneally injected with 1×106 normal red blood cells of C57BL/6 mice. The time of tumor formation of the mice in the two groups was observed and the tumor volumes were measured. Results The time of tumor formation in the P.y infection group[(11.30 ± 0.21)d]was significantly later than that in the control group [(10.40 ± 0.22)d](P < 0.05). From the tumors could be accurately measured to the study end point,both the tumors of mice in the two groups were growing,and the tumor volumes of mice in the P.y infection group were significantly less than those in the control group at each time point(all P < 0.05). The growth rate of tumors in the P.y infection group[(71.10 ± 6.29)mm3/d]was significantly slower than that in the control group[(302.80 ± 49.94)mm3/d](P < 0.05),and the growth rates of tumors every day in the P.y infection group were significantly slower than those in the control group(all P < 0.05). Conclusion The P.y in-fection can delay the occurrence of tumor and inhibit the growth of melanoma.

OBJECTIVE: To explore the molecular basis for a Chinese family affected with neurofibromatosis type I. METHODS: Peripheral blood samples were collected from the proband and his parents. Potential mutations of NF1 gene were screened by PCR and Sanger sequencing. Pathogenicity of candidate mutations was analyzed using Polyphen-2 and Provean software. RESULTS: Two mutations of the NF1 gene, including c.702G>A (synonymous mutation) and c.1733T>G (missense mutation), were discovered in the proband. Neither mutation was found in his parents and 50 healthy controls. Bioinformatics analysis indicated that the c.1733T>G mutation (p.Leu578Arg) was probably damaging. The affected codon L578 is highly conserved across various species. CONCLUSION The c.1733T>C mutation of the NF1 gene probably underlies the neurofibromatosis type I in this family.

Objective To identify the differentially expressed genes and pathways of bone marrow-derived mast cells(BMMCs)of mice induced by IL-3 and IL-3+stem cell factor(SCF)using bioinformatics analysis,which may provide a foundation for in vitro culture and functional study of mast cells(MC).Methods The matrix data of GSE35332 dataset in IL-3 and IL-3+SCF induced BMMCs was downloaded from the GEO database,and the R software was applied to screen differentially expressed genes(DEGs).The gene ontology(GO)and Kyoto encyclopedia of genes and genomes(KEGG)pathway enrichment analysis of EDGs were performed based on the online tool DAVID database.The protein interaction network was constructed by STRING database and hub genes were screened through MCODE plugin of the Cytoscape software.Results The GSE35332 data set was analyzed by R software,and 1 339 DEGs were screened,including 723 up-regulated genes and 616 down-regulated genes.A total of 6 hub genes were screened through the MCODE plugin of Cytoscape software,namely Psmd8,Psmd6,Psmd14,Psmc4,Psma6 and Psma3.GO and KEGG analysis showed that the hub genes were concentrated in proteolysis,antigen processing and presentation of exogenous peptide antigen via MHC class I,proteasome-mediated ubiquitin-dependent protein catabolism process,and Epstein-Barr virus infection.Conclusion This study found that there were significant differences in BMMCs gene expression profiles in mice induced by two modes and 6 hub genes participated in ubiquitin-dependent protein decomposition process through bioinformatics based on the GEO database,providing help for further research on MC vitro culture and function.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of auricular-plaster therapy indiabetes patients with insomnia, and provide suggestions for treatment.Methods The relevant randomized controlled trials and quasi-randomized controlled trials about using auricular-plaster therapy in diabetes patients with insomnia were searched in Cochrane Library, JBI, EMbase, Chinese Biological Medical Database ( CBM ) , Wanfang Data, VIP, China National Knowledge Internet(CNKI) and Pub Med. Information was selected. Retrieval time was limited from the foundation of those database to January 1st 2016. We use the Review manager 5. 3 analysis software to conduct Meta-analysis.Results 10 primary studies were included, which involved in 1 315 patients. Meta-analysis was processed based on different intervention methods and various outcome indicators. ①Different intervention methods:the effective rate of the auricular-plaster therapy group were higher than the control group, with significant differences [ OR= 7. 56, 95%CI ( 3. 92, 14. 58 ) , P<0. 000 01 ]; The effective rate of the comprehensive group ( including auricular-plaster therapy) were higher than the control group, with significant differences [OR=3.45, 95%CI(2.60,4.57), P=0.009];②Different results of outcome indicators, comprehensive interventionhas significant improvementonthe sleep quality of patients [MD=-1.96,95%CI(-2.33,-1.59),P<0.000 01];Moreover, comprehensive intervention could control postprandial blood glucose within twohours,with significant differences [MD=-1.86,95%CI(-1.94,-1.78),P<0.000 01].Conclusions Theauricular-plaster therapy can improve the sleep quality and sleep effect of diabetes patients with insomnia. However, because of the large literature difference, the results of the meta-analysis should be critical treated.

Objective To explore the influencing factors of ecological momentary assessment(EMA)in the implementation of home rehabilitation exercise for middle-aged stroke patients,and to provide a basis for decision-making and practice of precision rehabilitation nursing for stroke.Methods This descriptive qualitative research utilized purposive sampling method to select 8 medical staff,4 information technicians,8 middle-aged stroke patients,and 5 caregivers from a tertiary A general hospital in Wuhan from January 2 to March 10,2024 as the research subjects.Semi-structured interview was conducted based on the framework of diffusion of innovations theory.The data were analyzed using directed content analysis.Results 5 themes and 10 sub-themes were extracted,including relative advantage factors(conducive to precise and dynamic evaluation of patient rehabilitation behavior and symptom trajectory by medical staff;enhancing patient self-management awareness,effectively reducing care burden),compatibility factors(new methods conflict with existing values;new methods are in line with clinical work practice),complexity factors(evaluation frequency affects the accuracy of rehabilitation tracking;limited limb function and social support increase user burden),experimental factors(pilot and real-time feedback improve user experience;experience summary and promotion,the strengthening of practical verification orientation),and observable factors(successful cases of mobile health help popularize new methods;visualization of new methods to enrich mobile health practice).Conclusion There are certain promoting and hindering factors in the implementation of EMA in the field of home rehabilitation exercise for middle-aged stroke patients.In the future,it is necessary to explore the potential of EMA in the field of precision rehabilitation and ensure its compatibility with clinical practice.

Objective:To investigate the changes of exam scores of retrained peritoneal dialysis (PD) operators (patients, family members, or nannies) with an internal of one year during COVID-19 epidemic and provide basis for targeted training.Methods:It was a cross-sectional survey study. The maintenance PD patients who participated in two trainings with an interval of one year during COVID-19 epidemic from November 1, 2019 to February 28, 2021 in Department of Nephrology in Peking University People's Hospital were enrolled. During COVID-19 epidemic, retraining was extended from once every six months to once a year. The clinical data were collected, the self-designed training exam score table including theoretical knowledge and operational skills assessment was used to investigate the exam scores of two trainings, and the total exam scores and sub-item scores of PD operators before and after one year were compared. Logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the associated factors of the reduction of exam scores.Results:A total of 59 patients were enrolled, with 35 males (59.32%), age of (58.41±14.52) years, and dialysis duration of 42 (12, 84) months. There were 54 patients (91.53%) operating by themselves, 22 operators (37.29%) having college degree or above, and 35 operators (59.32%) having decreased exam scores. The total exam scores were 83.17±7.90 and 80.61±8.20 before and after one year, respectively ( t=2.732, P=0.008). In the six contents of itemized scoring, compared with one year ago, the exam scores of complication treatment ( t=4.928, P<0.001) and self-monitoring ( t=3.222, P=0.002) were significantly decreased. There was no statistically significant difference in the exam scores of environment and hygiene, dialysate replacement operation, exit nursing and diet before and after one year (all P>0.05). The total exam scores in patients with dialysis duration <12 months and 36-60 months after one year were significantly lower than before one year ( t=2.309, P=0.041; t=3.086, P=0.009). There was no statistically significant difference in the exam scores of PD operators with dialysis duration of 12-<36 months and >60 months before and after one year (both P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that dialysis duration was an independent associated factor of exam scores reduction (dialysis duration 36-60 months/>60 months, OR=6.233, 95% CI 1.035-37.529, P=0.046). Conclusions:During COVID-19 epidemic, the reduced frequency of retraining reduces the training exam scores of PD operators, especially in patients with dialysis duration of 36-60 months. The weak points are focused on complication management and self-monitoring. Training should be strengthened for key patients and key contents if regular retraining is not possible due to special circumstances.
