Objective To build an architecture for medical information integration based on SOA(Service-Oriented Architecture)by analyzing the characters of medical information integration and the integration technology of SOA. Methods Virtual database was built by XML Schema mapping for conform share of medical data based on XML technology. The method and principle of Web Services for medical information were researched and built. Results Medical information systems could uniformly exchange information based on standards of Web Services, and the conform medical information share mode was realized. Conclusion The integration of medical information systems based on SOA not only has the characteristics of loose-coupling and customization agility but also makes information share possible because of conform mode.

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effects of aminoguanidine and vitamin C on serum laminin of rats with diabetic nephropathy model. METHODS: The rats were randomly divided into normal control group, diabetes model group, vitamin C group, aminoguanidine group, vitamin C plus aminogucinidine group. The diabetes model(Type 1) was established in all groups except the normal control group by injecting them intraperitoneally with streptozotocin, after which, they were treated with the corresponding drugs for 16 weeks. During and after the treatment, the general state, blood gloucose levels, glycosylated hemoglobin, serum laminin, urea nitrogen, serum creatinine, and the 24-hours urinary albumin excretion rate of each group were observed and determined. RESULTS: The serum laminin levels increased and diabetic nephropathy occurred in all the 4 groups after being modelled. Aminoguanidine group, vitamin C had no effect on blood glucose level, while they could improve the basic condition and the combination of the two could significantly decrease serum levels of laminin, urea nitrogen, creatinine and the 24-hours urinary albumin excretion rate. CONCLUSION: Aminogucinidine and vitamin C couldn't decrease the blood sugar level but the combination of which has a synergistic action to decrease serum laminin level while preventing renal function.

AIM: To evaluate whether tolerogenic dendritic cells (DC) loaded with heat shock protein 60 (HSP60) inhibit the progression of aortic atherosclerotic plaque in hypercholesterolemic apolipoprotein E (Apo-E) -null mice. METHODS: Bone marrow derived DC of the mice were loaded with HSP60 and co-cultured with rapamycin to generate tolerogenic DC. The tolerogenic DC, DC loaded only HSP60 and PBS were injected into the ApoE-null mice at 8 weeks of age for three times at a one-week interval. 8 weeks after the last injection, aorta were harvested for HE staining and anti-CD4~+T cell immunostaining. Responses of pleenic cells to HSP60 were also evaluated. RESULTS: Compared with DC, DC_ HSP60 expressed higher levels of CD86, and stimulated T lymphocytes to proliferation significantly, while the tolerogenic DC expressed lower levels of CD86, and inhibited T lymphocytes to proliferation. After immunization with different injection, the numbers of CD4~+ T cells in plaque were increased significantly in DC_ HSP60 group vs in PBS group (P

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of balancing acupuncture therapy in the treatment of chest pain following lung cancer. Methods: Twenty-four cases of primary bronchial lung cancer with chest pain were treated by balancing acupuncture therapy; the relief of chest pain and its relief time were observed. Results: Among the 24 cases undergoing balancing acupuncture therapy, the chest pain was absolutely relieved in 3 cases, partially relieved in 13 cases, lightly relieved in 4 cases and not relieved in 4 cases; the total response rate was 83.3%. In terms of the relief time, 9 cases responded to the balancing acupuncture therapy in 0-3 min, accounting for 37.5%; 5 cases responded in 4-6 min, accounting for 20.8%; the average responding time was (4.85±1.45) min. Conclusion: Balancing acupuncture therapy is rapid-acting, safe, convenient and inexpensive in the treatment of chest pain following lung cancer.

Objective To investigate the therapeutic efficacy of Chinese medicine of Wusheng Tincture for external application in treating cancer pain, and to observe its effect on the quality of life ( QOL) of cancer patients. Methods Eighty-three cancer pain patients were randomized into treatment group (N=42) and control group (N=41). Except 5 cases dropping out for the itch of skin, a total of 78 cases finished the treatment, 40 in the treatment and 38 in the control group. The patients were given the corresponding medicine according to the classification of numerical rating scale ( NRS) scores. In the control group, the patients were treated following the three-step analgestic ladder issued by World Health Organization ( WHO). The treatment group was given external application of Wusheng Tincture on the painful regions based on the same three-step analgestie ladder treatment as that of the control group, the treatment course lasting 7 days. The rating scale NRS scores and QOL scores were observed for the assessment of therapeutic effect and QOL of the two groups. Results (1) On medication day 7, NRS scores in both groups were decreased as compared with those one day before treatment (P<0.01), but the differences between the two groups were insignificant (P>0.05) . (2) The total effective rate of the treatment group was 82.5%, and that of the control group was 68.4%, the difference being significant between the two groups ( P<0.05) . For mild-pain patients, the therapeutic effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05) . However, the difference of the therapeutic effect for patients with moderate and severe pain was insignificant between the two groups ( P>0.05) . ( 3) On medication day 7, QOL scores were much lower in both groups than those one day before medication, the difference being significant ( P<0.01) . However, the difference of QOL scores between the two groups was insignificant after medication (P>0.05) . Conclusion External application of Wusheng Tincture may have certain therapeutic effect in treating patients with mild cancer pain, but fails in enhancing the effect for patients with moderate and severe pain, either in improving the QOL of cancer pain patients when used together with WHO three-step analgestic ladder.
