1.Clinical observation of sodium hyaluronate application in adherent strabotomy
Recent Advances in Ophthalmology 2001;21(3):174-176
Objective To observe the effects and explore the mechanism of orthopia by using viscoelastic substance (sodium hyaluronate)in adherent strabismus(AS).Methods A total of 29 cases(33 eyes)of AS which were caused by various factors were performed strabotomy,in which sodium hyaluronate was poured into cap tenon space and /or around ocular muscles in which preserved after operation.Ocular movement was requested in 12~24 hours post-operation lest ocular muscles adhered to other tissues again. The main index we observed were the effectiveness of strabotomy and ocular movement. Results All 33 eyes achieved good results:17 eyes(51.5%) were cured,26 eyes(78.8%) obtained distinct improvement(DI). The operative results have reference to the cause of adherent strabismus, period of muscular adherence and visual function post-operation.No complications were found. Conclusion Our observation support that sodium hyaluronate can prevent ocular muscles from re-adhering to other tissues around after strabotomy. Most of the patients can obtain better effects by this viscoelastic therapy.

Yusheng ZHOU ; Changcheng ZHANG
Journal of Third Military Medical University 1988;0(06):-
Arginine-8-vasopressin (AVP) could promote the acquisition of shuttle-box passive avoidance behavior and delay the extinction of the behavior when injected into the hippocampus of rats.Intrahippocampal injection of 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) prevented AVP from enhancing memory. The authors had also observed that AVP could accelerate the degradation of cate-cholamine in the hippocampus when the contents of monoamine transmitters and their metabolites were analyzed with high-performance liquid chromatography and electrochemical detection. These facts suggest that vasopressin promotes the shuttle-box passive avoidance behavior in rats, strcnthens long-term memory as well as short-term memory, and exerts its effect on memory through its enhancing the degradation of norepinephrine and/or dopamine in the hippocampus.

China Pharmacist 2014;(2):245-247
Objective:To monitor the effects of asarone injections on the expression of IL-25, IL-27 and eosinophils cationic pro-tein ( ECP) in the serum of asthma patients. Methods:Totally 100 patients with bronchial asthma were randomly divided into the ob-servation group ( 55 cases ) and the control group ( 45 cases ) . The control group was treated with the conventional symptomatic treat-ment ( oxygen inhalation, spasmolysis and anti-asthma, and anti-infection, etc) . The observation group was given asarone injections 24 mg in 250 ml 0. 9% sodium chloride infusions, once a day for 14 days on the basis of the conventional therapy. The changes in symp-toms, and pulmonary function in the patients were observed with simultaneous detection of IL-25, ECP and IL-27 levels. Results:To-tal effective rate of the observation group was 92. 7%,which was higher than that of the control group (P<0. 05). Asarone injections could decrease IL-25, ECP and IL-27 levels in the observation group compared with those in the control group with statistically signifi-cant difference (P<0. 05 or 0. 01). Conclusion:Asarone injections can decrease the levels of IL-25, IL-27and ECP in the serum of asthma patients and inhibit the formation of inflammatory cells to alleviate the symptoms of airway inflammation.

6.Anti-hyperuricemic activity of bergenin and its mechanism
Acta Universitatis Medicinalis Anhui 2014;(1):63-66,67
Objective To explore the anti-hyperuricemia activity of bergenin in the model of hyperuricemic mice induced by potassium oxonate. Methods 60 Kunming male mice were divided randomly into six groups, which were normal control group;hyperuricemic model group;and hyperuricemic groups with 20 , 40 , 60 mg/kg berge-nin, and 5 mg/kg allopurinol. Mice were orally administered once daily with 250 mg/kg potassium oxonate for 7 continuous days to create the model, and then three doses of bergenin and allopurinol were orally initiated on the day 1 h after potassium oxonate was given, separately. Serum uric acid, creatinine and urea nitrogon levels, as well as urinary uric acid and creatinine levels were measured. mRNA and protein expression levels of mouse kidney u-rate transporter 1(URAT1), and glucose transporter 9(GLUT9) were also determined. Results Compared with hyperuricemic model group, bergenin significantly reduced serum uric acid, creatinine and urea nitrogon levels, in-creased 24 h uric acid and creatinine excretion, and fractional excretion of uric acid in hyperuricemic mice;mRNA and protein levels of mURAT1 and mGLUT9 were also markedly down-regulated. Conclusion Anti-hyperuricemia effect of bergenin is attributed to the enhancement of uric acid excretion and reversion of mouse urate transporters o-ver-expression.

Chinese Journal of Immunology 2015;(6):753-757
Objective:To investigate the effect and the mechanism of Apigenin on lipopolysaccharides ( LPS )-induced inflammatory mediators production in murine macrophages. Methods:The murine macrophage cell line RAW 264. 7 cells were cultured in vitro, and were treated with different concentration of Apigenin followed by LPS administration. Expression of heme oxygenase-1 ( HO-1),cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS),phosphorylation of p38 and IκB,nuclear translocation of Nrf2 were detected by Western blot. Production of Nitrite and nitrate ( NOx) was analyzed by colorimetric technique. Secretion of prosta-glandin E2 (PGE2) was detected by ELISA. Activation of NF-κB was measured by luciferase assay. Results: Western blot indicated that apigenin could induce RAW 264. 7 cells expression of HO-1, and pretreatment of SB203580, an inhibitor of p38 significantly inhibited apigenin induced HO-1 expression. In addition,Apigenin could also decrease the content of nuclear transcription factor Nrf2 in cytoplasm and increase its level in the nucleus. Silencing of Nrf2 by specific siRNA could inhibit apigenin-induced HO-1 expression. Furthermore, apigenin administration significantly inhibited LPS-induced NOx production and PGE2 secretion, COX-2 and iNOS expression,IκB phosphorylation and NF-κB activation, and transfection of HO-1 siRNA could reverse these actions. Conclusion:Apigenin inhibits LPS-induced inflammatory response through induction of HO-1 and inhibition of NF-κB in macrophages.

Objective: To investigate constitutional and phys ical stamina status in soldiers with different adaption periods in Tibetan areas . Methods: Two hundred and eithty-two male soldiers from a barr acks at an elevation of 3 600 m were divided into 2 groups: the veteran group ( n=143) in Tibet for 1.45±0.22 year, and the recruit group (n=139) in Ti bet for 0.33±0.00 years. The test items included body weight, cirumference, st a nding long jump, chin-up, 100 m dash and 3 000 m jogging, all were evaluated ac cording to the national military standard, which were Comprehensive Evaluation o f Health in Troops, and Examination and Evaluation of the Physical Stamina of So ldiers. Results: The physical stamina indexes of both the vetera ns and the recruits were up to the national military norm on the whole, ranking as moderate. The veteran group showed no significant difference in standing long jump and 100 m dash,(P<0.05), but obvious lower level in chin-up and 3 00 0 m jogging(P<0.01), compared with the national military norm. The recr ui t group showed significant lower level in chin-up, 100 m dash, 3 000 m jogging as compared with the national military norm(P<0.01), and also significant lower level in chin-up and 3 000 m jogging (P<0.05 or P<0.01) as compa red with the veteran group. Conclusion: The physical stamina of both the veterans and the recruits meet the basic national military requirements , ranking as moderate. The soldiers who have been in service for over 1 year hav e better explosive force, but they need more tolerance and aerobic exercises. Th e newly recruited need more exercise to raise tolerance to the hypoxic environme nt in plateau areas so as to shorten the adaption time to high altitude.
