1.Structure, function and signal transduction of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2
Chinese Journal of Pathophysiology 2000;0(07):-
Angiogenesis, or the formation of new blood vessels out of pre-existing capillaries, is very important in many physiologic and pathologic processes, such as embryonic development, cancer, retinopathies, etc. Vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) plays a key role in angiogenesis. In this review, we discussed the structure, function and signal transduction of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2. Understanding these should provide important insights into how new strategies can be devised to interfere in the physiologic and pathologic processes involved in angiogensis. [

Chinese Journal of Hepatobiliary Surgery 1998;0(06):-
Objective To determine the prognostic factors after radical resection (RR) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).Methods Altogether 144 patients who had undergone RR for HCC from 1988 through 1995 were included for a univariate and a Cox multivariate analysis.Nineteen factors contributing to overall survival rate (SR) and disease-free SR were analysed. Results The 5-year SR and disease-free SR (N=144) were 47.3% and 23.9%,separately.Multivariate analysis revealed that classification of RR was the signficant factor to overall SR,and presence of vessel invasion was the signficant factor to disease-free SR.The 5-year SR and disease-free SR in the patholngically RR and clinically RR groups were 60.2%,29.0% and 14.0%,0%,respectively.The 5-year disease-free SR in the group without (or with) vessel invasion was 27.8% (or 0%).Conclusions The classification of RR is the determinative prngnostie factor.Pathologically RR is the first option for patients with in- dications. It is essential to improve adjuvant therapy to decrease postoperative recurrence and metastasis rates.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the changes in serum amylase (AMY) and lipase (LPS) and their clinical significance in patients with acute paraquat poisoning (APP).
METHODSThe clinical data of 62 APP. patients who were admitted to Guangzhou 12th People's Hospital in 2014 were retrospectively analyzed. With clinical death being regarded as the end point of observation, the 62 patients were divided into survival group (n=32) and death group (n=30). The fasting venous blood of the patients on the 1st, 3rd, and 7th day after admission were collected, and the AMY and LPS levels were determined; the obtained data were compared between the two groups and analyzed statistically.
RESULTSThe AMY and LPS levels of the survival group on the 1st, 3rd, and 7th day after admission were significantly lower than those of the death group (P<0.05); the AMY and LPS levels of the death group on the 3rd day were significantly higher than those on the 1st day after admission (P<0.05); the survival group demonstrated no significant changes in AMY and LPS levels (P>0.05).
CONCLUSIONChanges in AMY and LPS levels in APP patients are reliable indicators for the determination of poisoning severity and prognosis.

Chinese Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology 2021;56(5):358-363
Objective:To evaluate the quality of the current foreign clinical practice guidelines (CPG) on obstetric venous thromboembolism (VTE), providing reference for standardizing the prevention and treatment of domestic VTE clinical practice. Methods:The GPGs for the management of obstetric VTE published abroad from inception to July 2020 were electronically searched. Two researchers independently evaluated the quality of the included guidelines in accordance with the internationally recognized guideline evaluation tool, AGREE Ⅱ.Results:A total of 12 guidelines, 2 recommendations and 1 consensus for obstetric VTE were included, covering 3 continents and 9 countries, and the published time span was 2009-2020. The standardized scores of the six domain (scope & purpose, stakeholder involvement, rigor of development, clarity of presentation, applicability and editorial independence) included in the guidelines were: 99.44%, 62.78%, 70.35%, 95.74%, 68.80% and 76.94% respectively, and the scores in each domain were ≥ 50.00%, indicating that the included CPGs were of good quality. Except for the domain scope & purpose, the ranges of the other five domains were ≥ 50.00%, suggesting that the quality of the CPGs differed significantly. Among the 15 included CPGs, 4 CPGs were level A (recommended), 11 CPGs were level B (recommended after being revised), and there was no CPG in level C (not recommended). The difference in the recommended content of obstetric VTE management mainly focused on the risk assessment, drug type, dosage and period. Conclusions:The overall quality of the CPGs for obstetric VTE management is high, while the quality of the CPGs varies greatly. In addition, there are differences in the recommended content of obstetric VTE management. More high-quality researches are required to provide evidence-based support for the improvement of the CPGs.

Objective To establish an HPLC method to simultaneously determine the contents of shikonin andβ,β'-dimethylacrylshikonin inZizhu Ointment. Methods The contents of shikonin andβ,β'-dimethylacrylshikonin inZizhu Ointment were determined by HPLC. The chromatographic conditions were Welch Materials XB-C18 Column (4.6 mm × 250 mm, 18.5μm), with mobile phase of acetonitrile-water-formic acid (75:25:0.05), detection wavelength of 516 nm, temperature of 30℃, flow rate of 1.0 mL/min and the load of 20μL.Results Shikonin showed a good linearity in the range of 0.025 6-0.256μg (r2=0.999 5), and the average recovery rate was 98.12% (RSD=1.92%).β,β'-dimethylacrylshikonin showed a good linearity in the range of 0.174 4-2.616μg (r2=0.999 2), and the average recovery rate was 100.46% (RSD=1.17%).Conclusion This method is simple and accurate, which can be used for the quality control and evaluation of Zizhu Ointment.

Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2014;(46):7452-7457
BACKGROUND:Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy is one of the most important factors of lumbar spinal stenosis, but the molecular mechanism is stil not very clear. OBJECTIVE:To explore the role of basic fibroblast growth factor, connective tissue growth factor and transforming growth factor β1 in hypertrophy of the lumbar ligamentum flavum. METHODS: The ligamentum flavum samples were divided into three groups according to different diseases: control group (acquired from the patients with lumbar spinal canal tumor,n=6), lumbar disc herniation (LDH) group (acquired from the patients with LDH,n=6) and lumbar spinal stenosis (LSS) group (acquired from the patients with LSS,n=6). Then the mRNA expressions of basic fibroblast growth factor, connective tissue growth factor, transforming growth factor β1 and colagen I, III, V of the ligamentum flavum were detected using real-time quantitative RT-PCR method. The roles of basic fibroblast growth factor, connective tissue growth factor and transforming growth factor β1 were explored. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:The expression of basic fibroblast growth factor mRNA in the LSS group was significantly higher than that in the LDH and control groups (bothP < 0.05); the expression of connective tissue growth factor mRNA was not found statisticaly different among the three groups, although it was slightly higher in the LSS group (P> 0.05); the expression of transforming growth factor β1 mRNA was significantly higher in the LSS group than in the LDH and control groups (bothP < 0.01). The colagen I mRNA expressed significantly higher in the LSS group than the LDH and control groups (bothP < 0.05), but both the colagen III and V mRNA showed no significant difference among the three groups (P> 0.05). This study indicate that both basic fibroblast growth factor and transforming growth factor β1 play important roles in the formation process of the lumbar ligamentum flavum hypertrophy, and the main type of the colagen in the hypertrophied ligamentum flavum is colagen I.
