Objective To explore the relationship between preoperative right ventricular ejection fraction(RVEF) and postoperative complications in the elderly patients with lung resection. Methods RVEF was assessed in 118 consecutive aged patients before pulmomary resection by echocardiography, 64 of whom received RVEF measurement again 3 weeks after operation. Heterotopic ossification is a pathologic bone formation,and can lead to joint dysfunction.There are several related factors for heterotopic ossification,such as surgery and wound,cytokine,genetic factor and perioperative drugs,while the definite pathogenesis is still unclear.Mature heterotopic ossified bone shows similar images as normal bones,and dynamic histomorphologic measurements suggest contrast to normal bone,heterotopic ossified bone exhibits higher metabolic activity.Risk factors for heterotopic ossification include severe central nerve injury,long-term coma,limb spasticity,limb braking and increase of serum alkaline phosphatase.Related factors for heterotopic ossification at molecular level are important in future studies to provide support for the prevention and therapy in heterotopic ossification following trauma or surgery.

Objective: To evaluate the effect of open-chest surgery for cancer patients in advanced stage, in aged and with respiratory insufficiency. Methods: From May 1992 to December 2002, 637 patients with lung cancer underwent thoracotomy in out hospital. 118 of the 637 patients fit in with the standards of advanced, aged or respiratory insufficiency. Objective To explore the operation method and curative effect of small incision minimally invasivepectus excavatum with non thoracoscopic xiphoid.Methods Clinical data of 12 cases with small incision minimally invasive pectus excavatum non thoracoscopic subxiphoid were retrospectively analyzed The index operation time,operation of the surgical bleeding,postoperative complications,postoperative hospitalization time and curative effect evaluation etc,were analyzed.Results 12 patients were successfully completed surgery.The time of operation was (35 ± 8)min;intraoperative blood loss was 5-20 mL,average 10mL;1 patients had pneumothorax postoperative complications;postoperative hospitalization time 3-7day,average 5days;postoperative effect evaluation were excellent in 12 cases.Conclusion Non thoracoscope assisted small incision under xiphoid minimally invasive pectus excavatum surgery is minimally invasive,beautiful appearance,reliable effect and other advantages,and can simplify the operation steps for primary hospital.

Objective To discuss factors influencing the heterotopic ossifications (HO) after treatment of bi-column acetabular fractures. Methods One hundred and ninety-three cases of bi-column acetabular fractures were followed up, including 147 males and 46 females with an average age of 34. 4 years. Thirty-one cases were associated with craniocerebral trauma. The interval between injury and surgery was less than 1 week in 15 cases, 1 to 2 weeks in 121 cases, 2 to 3 weeks in 34 cases, and over 3 weeks in 23 cases. Factors that might have influenced HO, including surgical method, associated injury, and interval between injury and surgery, were analyzed retrospectively. Results All the cases were followed up for an average of 44. 2 (14 to 84) months. The mean operation time was 238 (150 to 330) minutes, and the average blood loss was 1453 (450 to 4400) mL. The incidence rate of HO was 39. 9% (77 in 193 cases), including 39 cases of degree one, 23 cases of degree two, and 15 cases of degree three. Of the 77 cases associated with HO, 14 had craniocerebral trauma and 63 did not (χ~2 = 0. 019, P = 0. 891) . HO was found in 2 cases that had been operated on in less than 1 week, 38 cases in 1 to 2 weeks, 21 cases in 2 to 3 weeks, and 16 cases in over 3 weeks. The Spearman correlation analysis between HO degree and clinical result showed no correlation ( R = 0. 041, P =0. 722). Only 15 cases (7. 8% ) were associated with HO after the debridement of the necrotic gluteus minimus. Conclusions HO after surgery for bi-column acetabular fractures may not be correlated with craniocerebral trauma, but highly correlated with the interval between injury and surgery. Debridement of necrotic gluteus minimus and other muscles can reduce the incidence of HO.

Objective To discuss the clinical effect of surgical treatment for ankle osteoarthritis under arthroscopy.Methods Forty-eight cases with ankle osteoarthritis patients admitted at the Orthopaedic Hospital of Zhengzhou from January 2012 to June 2014 were selected and all of them were given the treatment of focal cleaning under arthroscopy.The clinical effect of surgical treatment were judged by modified McGuire ankle rating system,the United States after ankle surgery AOFAS ankle-full score and Mazur ankle rating system respectively.Results At the time of the last follow-up,modified McGuire ankle rating system((85.64±16.52)points vs.(52.46±10.25)points,t=-8.465),the United States after ankle surgery AOFAS ankle-full score [(85.24±11.46)points vs.(53.68±9.48)points,t=-7.548)and Mazur ankle rating system((86.45±12.57)points vs.(58.49±8.64)points,t=-6.596)all increased than that of pre-operation,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The modified McGuire ankle rating system of patients with low-grade lesion at pre-operation((62.45±7.63)points vs.(49.58±6.35)points,t=3.685)and the time of the last follow-up((93.68±11.54)points vs.(68.54±9.68)points,t=8.695)were all higher than that of patients with high-grade lesion,the differences were statistically significant(P＜0.05).The clinical effect of surgical treatment judged by modified McGuire ankle rating system,the United States after ankle surgery AOFAS ankle-full score and Mazur ankle rating system were respectively 91.67％(44/48),89.58％(43/48)and 89.58％(43/48),the differences were no statistically significant(x2=0.824,P＞0.05).Conclusion The clinical effect of surgical treatment for ankle osteoarthritis under arthroscopy is remarkable and it causes light damage to the body.It is especially suitable for patients with low-grade lesions and is worth popularization and application.

Recombinant AAV serotype 8 (rAAV8) vector is new and promising for gene delivery,which transduces muscular and hepatic cells highly efficiently. The transduction varies with the administration routes. It was observed that the rAAV8 virus injected intraperitoneally had been delivered to many different tissues through the blood circulation and resulted in extensive and prolonged gene expression. The interest gene (human coagulation factor Ⅸ) has been highly expressed via the rAAV8 vector injected intraperitoneally into mice at the dose of 5?1010 gc/ mouse. Considerable expression was detected in mouse plasma at two weeks after the administration. Expression peak up to 1 000% level compared to the UCRP occurred between 1~2 months after administration, and then the expression declined gradually but obvious expression persisted at 4 months post administration. APTT test proved the clotting activity of the recombinant hFⅨ in mouse plasma. Immunohistochemical assay showed that the human coagulation factor has been expressed significantly in several organs including liver, kidney, heart and muscles (abdominal and hindleg). These suggest that the rAAV8 virus injected intraperitoneally has been delivered via blood circulation and transduced different cells of multi-organs, and the product of the gene mediated by the rAAV8 vector is biologically active.

ObjectiveTo explore the association between hepatic steatosis and the liver tissue expression of HBsAg and HBcAg in chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients.MethodsFrom January 2005 to June 2008,a total of 147 CHB patients with hepatic steatosis diagnosed by liver biopsy and other 149 CHB patients without hepatic steatosis but with similar HBV DNA titer were enrolled.The differences of HBsAg and HBcAg immunostaining and liver injury in these two groups were compared.The data were analysed using t test and chi square test.ResultsCompared with non-steatosis group,the average age and body weight index of hepatic steatosis group were higher (t values were -3.31and -6.57,both P＜0.01).The percentage of moderate to severe hepatic inflammation in liver,obvious hepatic fibrosis and the strong positive HBsAg staining was lower (30.6％ vs 15.4％ ； 26.5％vs 12.8％； 23.1 ％ vs 6.7 ％； x2=9.63,8.92,15.76； all P＜0.01),and the percentage of strong positive HBcAg staining was also in downtrend.Compared with degree F1 and F2 of liver steatosis,the percentage of HBsAg and HBcAg strong positive staining in liver tissues of degree F3 and F4 was in downtrend.ConclusionsHepatic steatosis affected the expression of HBsAg and HBcAg in liver tissue of CHB patients.As hepatic steatosis appeared and became more severe,both expression of HBsAg and HBcAg and the degree of liver injury were in downtrend.

Aim To explore the effects and mecha-nisms of choro-oxime derivatives on spatial learning and memory impairment in Kunming mice and SD rats induced by scopolamine and Aβ1-42 , respectively. Methods 40 Kunming mice were randomly divided into 5 groups: control group, model group, donepezil treatment group, arimoclomol treatment group and TCO-2 treatment group. There were 8 mice in each group. Mice of control group were established by intra-peritoneal injection of saline, and mice of other groups were injected with scopolamine and caused memory im-pairment. Both control group and model group were treated with solvent by intraperitoneal administration;donepezil treatment group received donepezil by intra-gastric administration; arimoclomol treatment group and TCO-2 treatment group were given the correspond-ing drugs by abdominal injection, respectively. The solvent and drugs were given at the same time every morning for 8 days. Spatial learning and memory abili-ty were tested by Morris water maze from the fifth day of the drugs administration. 40 SD rats were divided into 5 groups the same as the dementia model men-tioned above. Mice of control group were established by intracerebroventricular injection of saline, and mice of other groups were injected with insoluble Aβ1-42 to be induced of memory impairment. Solvent and drugs were also delivered as mentioned above. Morris water maze was carried out from the fifth day of the drug de-livery. After that, acetyl cholinesterase activity of hip-pocampus was tested with acetyl cholinesterase reagent kit; the content of Aβ1-42 in hippocampus was meas-ured by ELISA assay kit;the expression of phosphoryl-ated tau proteins was detected by Western Blot. Re-sults In both two dementia models, choro-oxime de-rivatives could improve the spatial learning and memory ability, shorten the escape latency and increase the times of crossing the former platform. Choro-oxime de-rivatives could also inhibit the acetyl cholinesterase ac-tivity in animal brain, decrease the concentration of Aβ1-42 and the expression of phosphorylated tau pro-teins in the dementia rats’ hippocampus. Conclusions Spatial learning and memory deficits induced by sco-polamine and Aβ1-42 could be reversed by choro-oxime derivatives. It may be concerned with enhancement of the cholinergic system functions and reduction of the levels of Aβ1-42 and phosphorylated tau proteins in the brain.

Aim ToexploretheeffectsofnewdrugT-006 on improving learning and memory abilities in scopolamine-induced dementia mice and its possible mechanism.Methods 72maleKunmingmicewere randomly divided into six groups:normal control group,model group,donepezil treatment group,T -006 treatment group with different doses(1,3 and 10 mg·kg-1 ).All mice were treated by intragastric ad-ministration for 14 consecutive days. Learning and memory abilities were tested by a five-day Morris water maze trial from the 1 1 th day.the first 4 days of the five-day Morris water maze,the navigation test was performed,the last day of Morris water maze is the spatial probe test.During the navigation test, mice were intraperitoneally given 2 mg · kg-1 scopolamine 20 minutes before entering the water,while normal control group mice administrated with sterile saline in-stead.Mice were not given T-006 nor scopolamine in spatial probe test.After Morris water maze,all mice were sacrificed for hippocampus and cortex.The activi-ties of AchE and SOD and the levels of GSH and MDA in hippocampus and cortex were measured after tissue harvesting.Results Comparedwithmodelgroup,T-006 could obviously improve learning and memory abil-ities in scopolamine-induced mice, significantly in-crease the levels of SOD and GSH and decrease the levelsofMDAandAchE.Conclusion T-006can significantly improve cognitive abilities in scopolamine-induced dementia mice,and its relevant mechanism may be closely related to its antioxidative effect and the ability to decrease AchE level.
