Objective To investigate the incidence of spasticity 6 months after first stroke. Methods 355 patients hospitalized from March 2012 to December 2013 were assessed with the modified Ashworth Scale 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after stroke. Results The incidence of spasticity was 42.7% in the 1st month, and increased to 63.7% and 65.7% 3 and 6 months after stroke, respectively. The incidence of spasticity was the most 3 months after stroke both in arms and legs. The incidence of moderate to severe spasticity was more in the arms than in the legs. There was no significant difference at incidence of spasticity among foci and ages. Conclusion Spasticity usually occurs within 3 months after stroke, and more frequent in the upper limb than lower limb.

Objective To evaluate the effect of trimetazidine pretreatment on myocardial injury induced by propofol in rats. Methods Forty healthy Sprague-Dawley rats, weighing 240-250 g,aged 2.5 months, were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =10 each):fat emulsion group (group L),propofol group (group P),and different doses of trimetazidine groups (TL and TH groups). In group L,10% fat emulsion was infused intravenously for 12 h at a rate of 30 mg·kg-1 ·h-1.In group P,1% propofol was infused intravenously for 12 h at a rate of 30 mg·kg-1 ·h-1.In TL and TH groups, trimetazidine 2 and 5 mg/kg were injected intravenously, respectively, and 1.5 h later propofol was infused intravenously for 12 h at a rate of 30 mg·kg-1 ·h-1.At 6 and 12 h after beginning of administration, blood samples from the internal jugular vein were taken for determination of the levels of serum creatine kinase (CK),creatine kinase isoenzyme-MB (CK-MB),lactate dehydrogenase (LDH),α-hydroxybutyric acid dehydrogenase (α-HBDH),cardiac troponin Ⅰ (cTnⅠ),triglycerides (TG),low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and high-density lipoprotein (HDL).After blood sampling at 12 h after beginning of administration, myocardial specimens were obtained for microscopic examination of the pathological changes with light and electron microscope. Results Compared with group L,the serum CK,CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH,cTnⅠ and TG levels were significantly increased,HDL was decreased, and no significant changes were found in LDL concentrations in P and TL groups, and the serum TG,HDL and LDL were increased, and no significant changes were found in the other parameters in group TH.Compared with group P,the serum CK,CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH,and cTnⅠ levels were significantly decreased in TL and TH groups, the serum TG level was increased in TL group, and the serum TG,HDL and LDL levels were increased in TH group.Compared with group TL,the serum CK,CK-MB,LDH,α-HBDH and cTnⅠ levels were significantly decreased, and the serum TG,HDL and LDL levels were increased in group TH.Conclusion Trimetazidine pretreatment can attenuate myocardial injury induced by propofol, but it induces increase in blood lipids.

Objective To explore the construct validity of the Chinese version of Kinesthetic and Visual Imagery Questionnaire (KVIQ)-20 and KVIQ-10 in stroke patients and normal people. Methods From October, 2012, to March, 2014, 60 stroke patients and 60 nor-mal people with matched gender and age participated in this study. They were assessed with the Chinese version of KVIQ-20 and KVIQ-10. The construct validity was investigated with factor analysis. Results Two factors were extracted from KVIQ-20 for stroke patients after vari-max rotation, that accounted for 62.4%of the variance, as well as KVIQ-10 with 67.6%of the variance. Two factors were extracted from KVIQ-20 for normal people with 76.1%of the variance, as well as the KVIQ-10 with 69.6%of the variance. The factors could be named as visual imagery and kinesthetic imagery. Conclusion The Chinese version of KVIQ-20 and KVIQ-10 has good construct validity for assess-ing motor imagery from the dimensions of visual imagery and kinesthetic imagery, both in patients with stroke and normal people.

Objective To observe the effects of electroacupuncture at Zusanli (ST36) on lower limbs motor function in patients with stroke. Methods 63 patients were evenly randomized into electroacupuncture group and control group. All the patients received routine rehabilitation training and at the same time, patients in electroacupuncture group, received electroacupuncture at zusanli (ST36). They were assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment (lower limb, hip, knee and ankle), gait analysis (gait frequency, gait speed and step length of both sides) and lower limb Composite Spasm Scale (CSS) before and after treatment. Results The scores of Fugl-Meyer Measure, gait analysis, and CSS improved in both groups, and more significantly in electroacupuncture group. Conclusion Electroacupuncture at zusanli (ST36) can significantly improved lower limb motor function without worsening the spasm.

Objective:To explore the association between platelet/lymphocyte ratio (PLR) and frequent peritoneal dialysis (PD) - associated peritonitis (PDAP) in PD patients. Methods:The data of PD patients with PDAP from Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital between January 2015 and June 2019 were analyzed retrospectively. The patients were divided into mono group (only once PDAP occurred in one year) and frequent group (2 or more PDAP occurred in one year) according to the frequency of PDAP. The demographic data including gender, age, height and weight, the clinical data including blood pressure, duration of PD, causes of peritonitis, the laboratory data at the first time of PDAP and the prognosis of PDAP were compared between two groups. Logistic regression analysis method was applied to analyze the relationship between PLR and frequent PDAP. The predictive power of PLR was evaluated by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC).Results:A total of 78 PD patients with PDAP were enrolled, including 53 males and 25 females, with average age of 45.2 years. The total person-year was 765.1 person-years and the incidence of peritonitis was 0.10 case/person-year during the median follow-up of 16 months. All patients were divided into two groups: 53 patients in mono group and 25 patients in frequent group. Compared with mono group, the patients in frequent group had lower body mass index, longer dialysis duration, higher systolic blood pressure level, higher PLR level, lower uric acid level, and higher rate of drug-resistant bacteria in peritoneal effusion (all P<0.05). The extubation rate of the frequent group was 44.0%(11/25), which was significantly higher than that [15.1%(8/53)] of mono group ( P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that higher PLR level was an independent related factor for frequent PDAP( OR=1.006, 95% CI 1.002-1.010, P=0.003), and the area under the ROC curve of PLR was 0.783(95% CI 0.663-0.904, P<0.001). Conclusions:High PLR level is an independent related factor of frequent PDAP for PD patients, and PLR can be a potential predictor of frequent PDAP.
