1.The development and application of MRI of the inner ear after gadolinium injections in the diagnosis of Meniere's disease.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2014;28(10):747-750
Due to the lack of objective examination method, the diagnosis of Meniere's disease mainly relies on subjective symptoms. MRI of the inner ear after gadolinium injections had become a new technology in otology in recent years. The image can clearly distinguish perilymph from endolymph in the labyrinth and can be applied to the imaging diagnosis, evaluation of treatment and the pathogenesis research of Meniere's disease. This article is a review of the development and the application in clinical research of this new technology.

Objective To investigate the regulation effect of irbesartan on the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) mRNA in the kidney of spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). Methods Twenty 14-week-old male SHR were randomly divided to SHR group (n=10) and irbesartan group (n=10); ten 14-week-old male WKY group were served as control. Irbesartan group was given a daily dose of 50 mg/kg irbesartan for 12 weeks by gavage and the other two groups were fed with a normal diet. ACE2 in kidney was examined by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. Plasma angiotensin II in each group were estimated by radioimmunoassay (RIA). Results The ACE2 mRNA expression was significantly down-regulated in the kidney of SHR group compared with WKY group (0. 72?0. 11 vs 1. 11?0. 15). After 12 weeks treatment with irbesartan, the attenuated ACE2 expression in irbesartan group was markedly enhanced compared with SHR group (1. 03?0. 13 vs 0. 72?. 0. 11). ACE2 mRNA expression in SHR kidney was correlated significantly with plasm angiotensin II level. (r = 0. 83, P

AIM: To investigate the expression of angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE_2) in the renal of spontaneously hypertensive rats and the effects of angiotensin type-1 receptor blockade. METHODS: Twenty of 14-week-old male SHR were randomly divided into two groups (n=10 in each): SHR group and irbesartan group. Ten of 14-week-old male WKY group were served as control. Irbesartan group were given a daily dose of 50 mg?kg -1 irbesartan for 12 weeks by gavage and the other two groups were fed with a normal diet. Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 was examined by immunohistochemistry and RT-PCR. RESULTS: ACE_2 in the renal was significantly down-regulated in the SHR group compared with the WKY group ( 0.72? 0.11 vs 1.11? 0.15). After 12 weeks treatment with irbesartan, the attenuated ACE_2 expression in irbesartan group was markedly enhanced compared with the SHR group ( 1.03? 0.13 vs 0.72? 0.11). CONCLUSION: Hypertension induces the reduction of ACE_2 in the renal in rats and irbesartan markedly increases ACE_2 expression. It suggests that up-regulation ACE_2 which is one of counter-regulatory particular components in the renin-angiotensin system may be a new mechanism of curing hypertension beyond blockade angiotensin type-1 receptor.

Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(02):-
When Playmonas cardiformis is exposed to different ZnSO4 concentration, its growth rate decreases gradually with the increase of ZnSO4 concentration which is more than 1 mmol?L~-1. More than 8 mmol?L~-1 ZnSO4 can lead to the death of playmonas subcordi- formis. But the production of MT-like increases with the increase of ZnSO4 concentration by AAS determination. The effect of indution is remarkable. The production of MT-like reaches 2. 1ing per gram wet weight when the concentration of ZnSO4 is 1 mmol?L~-1.

Objective To explore the effect of exogenous recombinant human erythropoietin (rhEPO) on neuronal apoptosis in neonatal rats after hyperoxia brain injury. Methods Thirty neonatal Wistar rats were randomly divided into 3 groups by random number table method:rhEPO treatment + 800 mL/L hyperoxia group (group A),9 g/L saline +800 mL/L hyperoxia group (group B),9 g/L saline + air group (group C).Group A was given subcutaneous injection of rhEPO 1 000 IU/kg for 5 days.Group B and group C received the same dose of 9 g/L saline.Group A and group B were continuously exposed to atmospheric pressure hyperoxia model cabin to maintain the oxygen concentration in the container (800 ± 30) mL/L for 5 days.During the course of the experiment, the general situation and weight changes in rats were observed. After 5 d,all rats were sacrificed and brain tissues were taken.Neuronal apoptosis in hippocampal structural region of the newborn rats was observed by terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase dUTP nick and labeling(TUNEL) staining.Immunohistochemical method was used to detect the expression of 5-lipoxygenase in hippocampal structural region of newborn rats. Results The weight gain and brain weight of group B were lower than those of group C,the weight gain and brain weight of group A were higher than those of group B,and the differences were statistically significant(F =11.179,8.140,all P < 0.05).In group A and group B were found that the neuronal nucleus of the hippocampal neurons was partially contracted, deeply dyed, and the neuronal arrangement was loose, even with local neuron deletions and focal necrosis, but in group A neuron density was higher with less necrosis than that in group B.The neuronal cells in hippocampal structural region were neat and intact in group C.The number of TUNEL positive cells in hippocampal structural region of group B[(6.20 ± 1.93) number/high power field] was significantly higher than that in group C [(1.80 ± 0.79) number/high power field],the number of TUNEL positive cells in hippocampal structural region of group A [(4.20 ± 1.32) number/high power field] was significantly lower than that in group B,and the difference was statistically significant (F =23.912,P < 0.05).The number of 5-lipoxygenase positive cells in group B [(6.90 ± 1.29) number/high power field] was significantly higher than that in group C [(1.00 ± 0.67) number/high power field],the number of 5-lipoxygenase positive cells in group A [(5.60 ± 0.97)number/high power field] was significantly lower than that in group B,and the difference was statistically significant (F =95.044,P < 0.05).Conclusion rhEPO has a protective effect on neonatal rats with hyperoxia brain injury, and alleviates brain cell apoptosis caused by hyperoxia brain injury, which may interfere with the 5-lipoxygenase pathway.

BACKGROUND:Nerve growth factor has been shown to play an important role in bone healing, but little is reported on the effect of growth factor composite scaffolds via the immediate implantation in the repair of canine bone defects. OBJECTIVE:To analyze the effect of nerve growth factor composite scaffolds via the immediate implantation for the repair of canine bone defects. METHODS:Nerve growth factor composited strontium apatite scaffolds were prepared. Canine mandibular defect models were established and divided into three groups, fol owed by implanted with composite scaffold (experimental group), strontium apatite (positive control group), or nothing (blank control group). The three-dimensional CT reconstruction and hematoxylin-eosin staining of canine mandibular bone defects were observed. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:In the blank control group, there were few new bones surrounding bone defect. Trabecular bones spread from the defect center to the surrounding tissues in the experimental and positive control groups. The bone density, volume, thickness, and implant-bone contact were significantly increased, while the trabecular separation was significantly decreased in the experimental group compared with the positive control and blank control groups (P<0.05), and al above indicators in the positive contro group were significantly higher than those in the blank control group (P<0.05). Hematoxylin-eosin staining showed that in the experimental group, there were a large number of new bones that contacted with the surrounding bones closely, and trabecular bones arranged regularly. In the positive control group, newborn osteoid, trabeculare, and a smal amount of debris were found. In the blank control group, few new bones were connected with the surrounding bones untightly and trabecular bone arranged irregularly. These results indicate that the nerve growth factor composite scaffold can promote the bone regeneration in the canine bone defects after immediate implantation.
