Objective To explore the clinical application of 64-slice spiral CT(64SCT) in evaluation of female patients with primary osteoporosis. Methods 912 patients were clinically diagnosed as primary osteoporosis and were examined by 64SCT. The osteoporosis and pathologic fractures were evaluated on CT images. Results 912 patients in the group were diagnosed the osteoporosis in different degree.203 patients had pathologic fractures. Conclusion 64SCT can evaluate the extent of the primary osteoporosis of the females and can predict the adventures of the pathologic fracture.

Objective To explore the effect of applying personal digital assistant(PDA)in documenting medical orders and monitoring vital signs.Method There was significant diffenence the between two groups in dicumenting, inedical orders, monitoring vital signs(P<0.05).Result BPDA needed significantly shorter time for documenting medical orders and monitoring vital signs than the traditional method(P<0.05).Conclusions PDA may shorten the time for documenting medical orders and monitoring vital signs. It reduces the repetition of nursing routines, optimizes the work flow sheet so that nurses have more time for patients and the quality of nursing is improved.

Objective To knockout the MATP gene of mouse melanoma cell line B16F10 using CRISPR/Cas9 system, and to lay foundation for the functional study of MATP gene. Methods Specific primers of MATP were designed according to the report in http://crispr.mit.edu/ website. The primers were linked to pCAS9/gRNA1 vector. Then the positive vector was transfected into mouse melanoma B16F10 cells, and monoclonal cell lines were obtained by the infinite dilution method. After the genomes of different monoclonal cell lines were extracted and sequenced, the cell lines with MATP gene cleavage were screened, and the expression of MATP in these cell lines was verified by Western-blot analysis. Results Three MATP gene knockout cell lines were successfully obtained. The western-blot results showed that the cell lines did not express MATP protein. Conclusions The knockout of MATP gene in B16F10 cell line can be successfully achieved using the pCAS9/gRNA1 vector.

Objective:To evaluate the effect of patent foramen ovale on the development of post-operative stroke in the patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery using a meta-analysis approach. Methods:A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, CINAHL, Cochrane Library, China Biomedical Literature Database, Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform, and China Journal Full Text Database. The inclusion criteria encompassed studies assessing the correlation between patent foramen ovale and post-operative stroke. The primary outcome measure focused on the incidence of post-operative stroke, and secondary outcome measures comprised mortality, myocardial infarction rate, and readmission rate within 30 days after surgery. The quality of literature meeting the inclusion criteria was evaluated and data were extracted, and then meta-analysis was conducted using RevMan 5.4 software. Results:Eight retrospective cohort studies involving 21 142 237 patients were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that patent foramen ovale was associated with post-operative stroke and readmission within 30 days after surgery. There were no significant differences in all-cause mortality and myocardial infarction rates between patent foramen ovale group and mon-patent foramen ovale group ( P>0.05). Conclusions:Patent foramen ovale can increase the risk of post-operative stroke in the patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery.

OBJECTIVETo analyze the relationship between the pathological features and 64-multislice spiral computed tomography (64-MSCT) findings of pulmonary nodules in autopsies from patients with coal workers' pneumoconiosis (CWP), to investigate the optimal imaging method for the distribution of pulmonary nodules, and to provide data for the establishment of CT diagnostic criteria for CWP.
METHODSCadaveric lung specimens were collected from 7 CWP patients. All of them were men, aged 42∼77 years (mean, 60.00±13.00 years), and their dust exposure time was 5∼30 years (mean, 15.4±8.01 years). The cadaveric lung specimens were treated by aeration, sectioning, and immobilization and were then examined by coronary 64-MSCT. The primitive images were reconstructed into the maximumintensity projection (MIP) images (slice thickness: 3 mm, 5 mm, and 8 mm). The sensitivities of imaging methods with different slice thickness were evaluated based on the pathology and anatomy of local pulmonary nodules, and the correlation between pathological results and radiological findings was analyzed.
RESULTSThere were significant differences between the stages determined by pathological examination and high-kV chest radiography (before death) (χ(2) = 4.667, P < 0.05; kappa value = 0.167, P < 0.05). A total of 271 nodules were found in all pathological sections, including peribronchovascular nodules (27, 9.9%), centrilobular nodules (67, 24.6%), interlobular nodules (65, 24.3%), nodules within 5 mm from the pleura (45, 16.5%), pleural plaque-like nodules on the lateral chest wall (45, 16.5%), and nodules on the interlobar pleura (22, 8.1%). The likelihood ratio was the highest (0.981) between 5-mm MIP images and pathological results according to the chi-square test.
CONCLUSIONThe stage of pulmonary nodules determined by pathological examination is significantly different from that determined by high-kV chest radiography. The 5-mm MIP images of 64-MSCT provide a good reflection of the local pathology and anatomy of pulmonary nodules in CWP patients.
