microRNAs (miRNAs), a class of endogenous non-coding RNA about 22 nucleotide long, regulate gene expression at the post-transcription level by inhibiting the translation or inducing the degradation of their target mRNAs in organisms. A lot of studies reveal that miRNAs in adipose tissues are involved in adipocyte differentiation and lipid metabolism and modulated by multiple transcription factors, adipocytokines and environmental factors, which form a complex regulatory network maintaining the homeostasis of adipose tissues. The discovery of circulating miRNAs adds new elements to the regulatory network. To study the metabolic diseases such as obesity, we should keep a new insight into the complex dynamic network. In this review, we summarize the latest studies of miRNAs in adipose tissues, which might provide new strategies for the treatment of obesity and other related diseases.

This study was aimed to observe the effect of Tao-He Cheng-Qi Decoction (THCQD) on tissue injury of different organs among rats with sepsis. A total of 100 Kunming male SD rats of clean grade were randomly divided into five groups, which were the normal control group, model 6 h control group, model 12 h control group, THCQD 6 h group and THCQD 12 h group. The normal control group received no treatment. The classic CLP method was ap-plied in the establishment of sepsis rat model in other groups. Intragastric administration of saline 1 ml/100 g (weight) was given to each rat in the model group every day. Intragastric administration of THCQD 1 ml/100 g (weight) was given to each rat in the THCQD group every day. The model was established after 7 days. Tissue speci-mens of lung, heart, kidney, liver, and small intestine were collected at 6 h and 12 h after modeling, respectively. Pathomorphological changes of each group were observed by light microscopy and electron microscope. The results showed that compared with the model group at the same time point, pathomorphological changes of tissues of the lung, heart, kidney in THCQD group were not significant. However, pathomorphology of tissues of the liver and small intestine changed significantly in the THCQD 12h group. And there were statistical differences (P < 0.05) between two groups in the score of pathomorphology. It was concluded that THCQD had protective effect on tissues of the liv-er and small intestine among rats with sepsis. However, the mechanism is not clear and requires further research.

Objective To evaluate efficacy and mechanism of Anluohuaxian pilule combined with interferon-γ in the treatment of schistosomal liver fibrosis. To preliminarily study on the relationship of pigment deposition in liver and schistosomal liver fibrosis. Methods Thirty Kunming mice were divided into the normal control group, the infection control group and the combination of Anluohuaxian pilule and Interferon-γ treated group. Schistosomal liver fibrosis model was established by infection with 40 Schistosoma japonicum cercariae. The treated group was treated by combination of Anluohuaxian pilule and Interferon-γ for 8 weeks. The changes of pigment deposition and hepatic egg granuloma in Schistosoma japonicum infected mice were observed. Expressions of collagen Ⅰ and Ⅲ were detected by immunohistochemistry. Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1 was detected by fluorescent polymerase chain reaetion(PCR). Histopathology and computer image analysis were applied to evaluate the change in the liver tissues. Results The amount of pigment deposition in liver was related to the expression of TGF-β1 mRNA (correlation coefficient = 0. 8). Compared to the infection control group, combination of Anluohuaxian pilule and Interferon-γ can lessen hepatic fibrosis(P<0.05). The combination therapy can also make pigment deposition less and hepatic granuloma smaller than the infection control group(P<0. 05). Conclusions Pigment deposition in liver is related to the expression of TGF-β 1. Combination of Anluohuaxian pilule and Interferon-γ can lessen hepatic fibrosis in mice infected with Schistosoma japonicum. It's one mechanism to of the combination therapy down-regulate the expression of collagen Ⅰ, Ⅲ and TGF-β 1.

Objective To summarize the effect of laparoscopic repair of acute gastric perforation. Methods Patients with acute gastric perforation underwent laparoscopic repair and abdominal drainage under intravenous- inhalation general anesthesia after a histological biopsy. Results Forty-six patients with acute gastric perforation were successfully operated.Of which, 6 patients with pylonic perforation, 37 patients with perforation in the front wall of gastric antrum, 3 patients with perforation in stomach body. Thirty-three cases were received frozen section biopsy, only 1 case showed a cancer in the lesser curve of stomach body. There was no complications occurred and no operative mortality in this series. Of the 45 benign ulcers patients,31 patients were discharged 7 days after the operation, 14 patients were discharged 2 weeks after medication treatment.Three months after operation the symptoms of the 45 patients disappeared totally, they had normal diet, and got body weight 1-3kg. Pathological examination showed that no malignant cell was found in 45 benign ulcer patients. The cancer patient was discharged 9 days after operation and refusing to further treatment. Conclusions Laparoscopic repair is a safe mini-invasive method, and it isn′t breach the surgical principles,it allows the patients recover quickly and with less complications. The intraoperative biopsy can prevent misdiagnosis of cancer. It is an effective treatment for acute gastric perforation and worthy to be widely used.
