Objective To investigate the clinical value of combined detection of the serum levels of CA125,CA72-4 and tumor specific growth factor(TSGF)in the diagnosis of ovary cancer and the curative effect. Methods Serum levels of CA125,CA72-4 and TSGF in 68 patients with ovary cancer,53 patients with benign ovary rumor and 50 normal controls were measured by chemiluminescent immunoassay(CLIA)and chemical colorimetry. Results and clinical data were statisticaly analyzed. Results The levels of CA125,CA72-4 and TSGF in ovary cancer group were higher than that in the benign ovarian tumor group and healthy controls(all P <0.01).When use three tumor markers united detection, sensitivity, specificity and accuracy were 91.2%,83.0% and 87.4% respectively. The sensitivity and accuracy was higher than any single detection. The specificity with single CA125 testing was consistently. The levels of CA125,CA72-4 and TSGF in patients with ovary cancer were significantly different after surgical treatment for five days(all P <0.05).Conclusion The combined detection of the three markers may increase the positive rate in the early diagnosis of ovarian cancer, and help to differentiate the benign and malignant ovarian tumor, but also is valuable to observe the curative rate and postoperative monitor of the ovary cancer.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical outcome of Ruanjian Xiaoying Decoction (RJXYD) on chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis. METHODS: Eighty patients with chronic lymphocytic thyroiditis were randomly divided into RJXYD-treated group (n=40) and control group (n=40). The patients in the RJXYD-treated group received treatment of RJXYD combined with levothyroxine while the others in the control group received treatment of levothyroxine and prednisone both for 16 weeks. The serum levels of thyroid hormones and the titres of serum antithyroglobulin antibody (anti-TG Ab) and antithyroid microsomal antibody (anti-TM Ab) were all examined before and after treatment. The total response rates of the two groups were evaluated after treatment of 16 weeks. RESULTS: The total response rate of the RJXYD-treated group was 92.5%, while that of the control group was 60.0% (P<0.01). The serum levels of free triiodothyronine (FT(3)) and free thyroxine (FT(4)) were obviously increased after treatment as compared with those before treatment in the two groups. The titres of serum anti-TG Ab and anti-TM Ab and the serum level of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) were all obviously decreased after treatment as compared with those before treatment in the two groups. CONCLUSION: The RJXYD can shrink and soften the enlarged thyroid gland and thyroid nodules, improve the immune function of human body, alleviate the response to thyroid self-antigens and promote the recovery of thyroid function.

In order to express PebC1 in Pichia pastoris, the pebC1 sequence was amplified from genome Botrytis cinerea BC-4-2-2-1 by PCR and subcloned into the Pichua pastoris expression vector pPIC9K to generate pPIC9K-pebC1. The recombinant plasmid was linearized by Bgl II and transformed into Pichia pastoris GS115 by electroporation. Recombinant Pichia pastoris GS115/pPIC9K-pebC1 was screened by MD and G418-YPD plates and further confirmed by PCR. The protein expression was induced by methanol and analyzed by SDS-PAGE. SDS-PAGE analysis showed a special band about 39 kDa and western blotting indicated a good antigenicity of the expressed protein. Bioassay results showed that the recombinant protein PebC1 can induce resistance to gray mould disease of cucumber and Arabidopsi thaliana.

Objective To evaluate Chinese nurses' perception of the nursing work environment and to compare the differences among the eight economic regions in mainland China.Thus,policy-makers and nursing managers can optimize and coordinate resources based on the results of this study. Methods Chinese version of Nursing Working Environment Scale was used in the study.A total of 19,000 nurses from 31 provinces and municipalities in mainland China were investigated.Descriptive analysis, cluster analysis and nuclear density estimation were conducted. Results The average score of the nursing work environment was 4.1 points, which means nurses were somewhat satisfied with their work conditions.Specifically, nurses were most dissatisfied with the basic safeguard dimension (3.4 points),followed by sufficient manpower (3.9 points),career development (4.0) and leadership and management(4.0)dimensions.In addition, the eight economic regions could be divided into three categories(P<0.01)according to the differences of the nursing work environment. The first category included the northeast, northern coastal and middle reaches of the Yellow River economic zone;the second category included eastern coastal economic zone;and the third category included the southern coast, the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, southwest and northwest economic zone. Conclusion The development of the nursing work environment in the vast majority of mainland China is unbalanced and the regional differences are obvious.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most common gastrointestinal malignancies with high incidence rate and mortality rate. Human intestinal microbiota play crucial roles in multiple aspects including immune function, digestion and metabolism.Current research literature suggests that there is a significant connection between intestinal dysbacteriosis and colorectal cancer. However,it is not clear how intestinal dysbacteriosis is involved in the initiation, progress and metastasis of colorectal cancer. In this paper, the influence discussed from three aspects.

The aims of this study were to investigate the utility of solid microneedle arrays (150 µm in length) in enhancing transdermal delivery of peptides and to examine the relationship between peptide permeation rates and D2O flux. Four model peptides were used (Gly-Gln-Pro-Arg [tetrapeptide-3, 456.6 Da], Val-Gly-Val-Ala-Pro-Gly [hexapeptide, 498.6 Da], AC-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-NH2 [acetyl hexapeptide-3, 889 Da] and Cys-Tyr-Ile-Gln-Asn-Cys-Pro-Leu-Gly-NH2 [oxytocin, 1007.2 Da]). The influence of microneedle pretreatment on skin permeation was evaluated using porcine ear skin with Franze diffusion cell. Peptide permeation across the skin was significantly enhanced by microneedle pretreatment, and permeation rates were dependent on peptide molecular weights. A positive correlation between D2O flux and acetyl hexapeptide-3 clearances suggests that convective solvent flow contributes to the enhanced transdermal peptide delivery. It is concluded that solid microneedle arrays are effective devices to enhance skin delivery of peptides.
