The right or whole thorax of Wistar rat was irradiated with 60Co ?-ray including single exposure (10,30,50,70Gy) and fractional exposures(30, 60Gy). Animals from each group were sacrificed at 0.5,1,2,3,6,9,12 months after irradiation. Sections of lung were examined with light microscopy (LM), electron microscopy (EM), histochemistry and morphometry. The pulmonary changes could be divided into four phases: exudation, granulation, fibroplasia and collagenation. The four phases can exactly show the development piocess of irradiation interstitial pneumonitis. Type Ⅱ pneumocyte and mast cell may play a role in pulmonary fibrosis formation.

Objective To study the clinical characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and prognosis of primary pulmonary peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified (PTCL-NOS). Methods Two cases of primary pulmonary PTCL-NOS were studied and relevant literature were reviewed. Results Case 1 diagnosed as primary pulmonary PTCL-NOS was a 44 years old woman and disease progressed after GLD (Gem+L-OHP+ DXM) chemotherapy regimen. At last, the patient died of respiratory failure after one month. Case 2 diagnosed as primary pulmonary PTCL-NOS was a 46 years old man and reach partial response after CHOP regimen, and still alive now. Conclusion Primary pulmonary PTCL-NOS is very rare. It is easy to be misdiagnosed due to non-specific clinical and imaging manifestations. Acquiring enough tissue specimens for pathologic examination is the key to a definitive diagnosis. At present, there is no standard chemotherapy regimen for these patients, the prognosis is relatively poor.

Objective To evaluate the outcome and prognosis of prostate carcinoma treated with three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy(3DCRT). Methods From 2000 to 2004,37 patients were so treated. Two patients have been lost to follow up. Twenty-four patients underwent orchiectomy before 3DCRT,20 patients received chemotherapy combined with hormone therapy and 4 received radiation castration. All patients were treated with a median dose of 72Gy(60-76Gy),2Gy/f ,5 fractions/w. Results With a median follow-up time of 27 months(6-107months),the 3- and 5-year survival rate was 80% and 70%, respectively. Longrank analysis showed age, PSA level before treatment, lymph node metastasis, distant metastasis, total dose and combined modality were prognostic factors for the survival. Cox model multivariate analysis showed PSA level before treatment, total dose and combined modality were prognostic factors for the survival. Conclusions The outcome of three-dimensional conformal radiation therapy for T2-T4 prostate carcinoma is safe and effective with tolerable side effects. PSA level before treatment, total dose and combined modality are prognostic factors for the survival.

Objective To evaluate the early effect and safety of artificial hip replacement for treating senile osteoporosis femoral neck fractures with different prostheses choice. Methods From January 2006 to April 2014, 387 patients with senile osteoporotic femoral neck fractures received artificial hip replacement. Their average age was 65 to 98 years old, with the average of 76.9 years old. Four prostheses were used in the artificial hip replacement, including 107 cases of biological total hip,94 cases of bone cement type total hip,104 cases of biotype artificial femoral head, and 82 cases bone cement artificial femoral head. We compared the operation time, bleeding amount, postoperative ambulation time, postoperative complication rate among the four prostheses. Results The biological hip replacement were superior to bone cement type in the operation time(50±10.3 min vs 61±11.5 min), bleeding amount(149±27.7 ml vs 205±47.3 ml)and postoperative complications(21% vs 38%),with statistical significant differences(P < 0.05). Other observations showed no statistically significance. Conclusion The biotype artificial joint replacement is applicable to the younger patients with thick bone cortex and long life expectancy, while the bone cement artificial joint replacement is appropriate for weak senile patients with thin bone cortex.
