Chinese Journal of Minimally Invasive Surgery 2001;0(06):-
Objective To explore the feasibility of two-port laparoscopic drainage in the treatment of liver abscess. Methods A total of 18 patients with bacterial hepatic abscess underwent twoport laparoscopic drainage. Two incisions were made at the superior border of the umbilicus and 4~5 cm below the right costal margin near the anterior axillary line, respectively. The abscess was cut through in "┼" or "╫" shape. The pus cavity was debrided bluntly, and a double-lumen drainage tube was placed. Results The laparoscopic drainage was performed successfully in all the 18 patients. The operative duration was 30~75 min(mean,45 min).A bile leakage for 80~100 ml per day occurred in 1 patient. The drainage tube was removed on the 12th postoperative day and the patient was discharged from hospital on the 14th postoperative day.Of the 18 patients, the hospital stay after operation was 7~14 d(mean,8.5 d).All the patients were followed for 5~12 months(mean,9 months) and no residual abscess or recurrence was found. Conclusions Two-port laparoscopic drainage for liver abscess is an ideal approach with advantages of simple manipulation, slight contamination inside abdominal cavity, little trauma, low complication rates, and rapid recovery.

Objective To study the influence and the optimal dosages of Sijunzi Decoction (SJZD) on treating digestive and immune function of mice with Pi-deficiency syndrome (PDS). Methods The experimental model of mice with PDS was induced by rhubarb decoction. Then the mice were treated with three dosages of SJZD (12.5, 25, and 37.5 g/kg), respectively. The body weight, body temperature, mean retention time of chyme in digestive tract, gastric emptying velocity, gastrin and motilin levels, and visceral index of mice were measured. Results Being compared with the normal group, the PDS mice showed a slower growth of body weight and a lower body temperature, a shorter mean retention time of chyme in digestive tract and faster gastric emptying velocity, a lower gastrin content, and a higher motilin content. Also splenic and thymus indexes were found to follow a downtrend in the PDS mice. Three dosages of SJZD showed a restoration effect on the above all indexes, and the high dosage was the most effective one, especially. Conclusion The high dosage (37.5 g/kg) of SJZD possibly is the optimal dosage on treating the digestive and immune diseases of PDS mice.

Objective To explore the effects of Taiji exercise on the psychology and the functions of the autonomic nervous systems of middle aged and elderly people. Methods Two hundred and seven middle aged and elderly Taiji exercisers and 166 age matched non Taiji exercisers were sampled. The Zung Self rating Anxiety Scale(SAS), Zung Self rating Depression Scale (SDS) and autonomic nervous system equilibrium index (ANSEI)were adopted to assess the subjects. Results Compared with those of the control group, the scores of SAS and SDS in Taiji group were significantly higher, and the equilibrium of autonomic nervous systems in Taiji group was also superior. There was no significant difference between the male and the female with regard to SAS, SDS and the equilibrium of autonomic nervous systems within Taiji group. The longer the exercise, the better the equilibrium of autonomic nervous systems. Conclusion Taiji exercise has positive effects on the psychology and the autonomic nervous system of the middle aged and the elderly.

Objective To evaluate the effect of applying emergency care simulator (ECS)on cardiopulmonary resuscitation skill training. Methods Clinical doctors and nurses(n=1 472)received the skill training of unarmed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR),electric defibrillation and tracheal intubation by using simple CPR simulator (n=667)or ECS (n=805)respectively. After training, the examination was carried out and questionnaires were handed out. The completion time of operations, the scores and pass rates of examinations, the evaluations of training methods were compared between the two groups. The statistical data were analyzed by t(t')-test or Chi-square test with SPSS 19.0 and P <0.05 was considered as the criterion of significance. Results Compared with those of group using simple CPR simulator, the group using ECS showed obviously shortened completion time((309±125)s vs. (242±61)s,t'=12.65,P=0.00;(87±36)s vs. (55±31)s,t'=20.28,P=0.00;(239±87)s vs. (145±53),t'=24.4,P=0.00),significantly increased scores ((83.5±14.8)vs. (90.2±17.6), t'=7.93,P=0.00;(84.7±19.3)vs. (92.1±21.5),t'=6.95,P=0.00;(81.6±15.3)vs. (89.6±13.5), t'=10.53,P=0.00)and pass rates of examinations (84.1%(561/667)vs. 92.5%(745/805),χ2=25.96, P<0.01;82.2%(548/667)vs. 91.2%(734/805),χ2=26.41,P<0.01;80.8%(539/667)vs. 91.4%(736/805),χ2=35.48,P<0.01)as well as higher evaluation of training methods. Objective: To better understand homing potentiality of hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) in human umbilial cord blood (UCB) and the mechanism of dextran sulfate (DS) mobilization. Methods: Sub lethally irradiated or DS pretreated severe combined immunodeficient (SCID) mice were transplanted with UCB, which was cryopreserved at -80℃.Human cells in recipient mice were detected by flow cytometry and CFU GM assay from each host organ. Results: In contrast with the controls, engraftment after irradiation or administration of DS resulted in a higher percentage of CD45 +,CD34 +,CD19 + cells produced in SCID mice. While comparison between the experimental groups, higher implantation level was obtained in the former if equivalent donor cells were used in both groups. Conclusion:DS is a safe and effective pretreatment, which can mobilize HSC, but also vocate niches for transplanted HSC homing. [
