4.An Empirical Study on the Unreasonably High Retailing Price of Chinese Patent Medicines
China Pharmacy 2005;0(21):-
OBJECTIVE: To probe into the gap between the production cost and retail prices of Chinese patent drugs for references of setting scientific and reasonable drug price.METHODS: The retail prices of the selected drugs were surveyed on the spot;the production prices of the drugs were calculated using the cost accounting theory;statistical method was adopted to compare the equivalence between the production cost and retail price and compute the rational ratio between cost and retail price.RESULTS: Among the 93 high price Chinese patent drugs surveyed, the retail prices of only 6 approached their theoretical retail prices, and the remaining 87 had unreasonably high prices to different extent.CONCLUSION: More importance should be attached to the unreasonably high prices of Chinese patent drugs. The upper limit of the retail prices or daily dose retail prices of Chinese patent drugs should be set so as to keep the unreasonably high drug prices under control.
5.Observations on the Efficacy of Thumbtack Needle Therapy for Senile Recurrent Oral Ulcer of Yin Deficiency and Fire ;Excess Type
Shanghai Journal of Acupuncture and Moxibustion 2016;35(10):1226-1228
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of thumb-tack needle therapy for senile recurrent oral ulcer of yin deficiency and fire excess type. Method Sixty patients cancer pain were allocated, using a random number table, to observation and control groups,30 cases each. The control group gargled with 10 mL compound chlorhexidine mouthwash 5 min twice daily and the observation group received thumbtack needle therapy 6 hrs once daily, on the left and right sides alternately, in addition to treatment given to the control group. The course of treatment was five days in both groups. The clinical therapeutic effects were evaluated after the completion of treatment. The TCM symptom score and the VAS score were recorded before and after treatment. A comparative analysis was carried out. Result The total efficacy rate was 96.7%in the observation group and 83.3%in the control group. It was higher in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). The TCM symptom score and the VAS score decreased in the observation and control groups after treatment compared with before (P<0.05, P<0.01). They decreased more in the treatment group than in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Thumbtack needle therapy has a definite effect on senile recurrent oral ulcer of yin deficiency and fire excess type. It can relieve TCM clinical symptoms and pains in the patients.
6.Endometriosis and stem cell theory
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2016;20(28):4250-4256
BACKGROUND:Pathogenesis of endometriosis involves many factors that ultimately lead to the emergence of endometrial glands and stroma outside the uterine cavity. OBJECTIVE:To review the research progress in the theory of endometrial stem cel s, and to provide suggestions for the pathogenesis and treatment of endometriosis. METHODS:VIP database and PubMed database were retrieved for articles addressing endometriosis stem cel theory, including original research, experimental analysis, case analysis and review, published from January 2005 to October 2015. Keywords wereendometriosis, stem cel sin Chinese and English, respectively. After removal of repetitive articles, 48 articles were included for final analysis. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Endometrial stem/progenitor cel s may exist in the endometrium, and these cel s and bone marrow stem cel s are speculated to be involved in the occurrence of endometriosis. Therefore, treatment of endometriosis is targeted to endometrial stem/progenitor cel s and abnormal regulation on signal transduction pathway, which provides new insight into the mechanism of action and treatment of endometriosis.
7.Analysis on TCM Articles Based on Chinese Science Citation Database
Chinese Journal of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine 2017;24(5):95-98
Objective To know the TCM discipline development situation through analysis on TCM articles based on Chinese Science Citation Database (CSCD) in recent years. Methods Articles about TCM in CSCD from January 2010 to December 2015 were searched by computers. The CSCD literature analysis system was used to conduct metrological analysis from the aspects of publishing time, source journals, cited information, authors, publishing organizations, research themes, and fund support. Results The number of articles published on CSCD was increasing year by year from January 2010 to December 2015. 85.09% of articles focused on the field of general medicine. There were more than 100 CSCD journals included in TCM professional articles. 17 journals published more than 100 TCM professional articles. WANG Yong-yan academician was the author who published the most articles (121 papers). Academic output H index of six authors was more than 5. 31.52% articles in CSCD were cited. Natural Science Foundation of China (including general and youth projects) funded the highest number of articles (12.2%), reaching 1716 articles. Conclusion Analysis on articles from CSCD can outline the development situation of TCM discipline in China. In recent years, the number of TCM articles is increasing; subject integration is good; high-level teams are forming gradually; TCM discipline is developing fast. However, the citation frequency is low; scholar H index is not high; the overall level remains to be improved.
