OBJECTIVETo analyze the status and papers information of Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology, and provide a guide for authors, readers and editing staffs.

METHODSWe retrieved papers of Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology from 2009 to 2013 from CNKI, and performed a statistical analysis of papers information contained in the text using bibliometrics method. Papers information such as document type, found support, author affiliation type, and discipline classification, etc. was analyzed.

RESULTSSeven hundred and forty two papers including 27 full English articles in total were published in Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology from 2009 to 2013. More papers were supported by national, provincial, and the other foundation, it was about 82.6% of all papers.

CONCLUSIONChinese Journal of Applied Physiology has stable manuscript resources, various discipline papers, and play an important role for development of applied physiology in China.

Objective To investigate the effect of edaravone pretreatment on myocardial injury induced by carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum in patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.Methods Thirty patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecologic surgery,ASA Ⅰ or Ⅱ grade,were divided into two groups by random digits table with 15 cases each:control group and edaravone group.Edaravone group following tracheal intubation received vein infusion of edaravone 0.5 mg/kg,control group received equal volume of 0.9％ sodium chloride.The carbon dioxide pneumoperitoneum pressure was maintained at 10-15 mm Hg (1 mm Hg =0.133 kPa).Venous blood samples were collected before anesthesia induction and after operation 8 h for the measurement of the serum creatine kinase (CK),creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB),aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH).Results The serum levels of CK and AST were significantly higher after operation 8 h in control group than those of before anesthesia induction in control group and after operation 8 h in edaravone group [(205 ± 27) U/L vs.(123 ± 25) and (123 ± 29)U/L,(48±5) U/L vs.(34 ±3) and (36 ±5) U/L,P＜0.05].There was no significant difference in the serum levels of CK-MB and LDH between two groups and the group (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusion Pretreatment with edaravone 0.5 mg/kg can protect myocardium in patients undergoing laparoscopic gynecologic surgery.

In order to find out a valuable control measure for soil-transmitted parasties, the infectivity in mice of Ascaris eggs irradiated with Cobalt(60) were examined. The results were summarised as follows. In vitro, Ascaris eggs irradiated with larger doses of Cobalt(60) developed poorly, and no difference was found between fresh eggs and those cultured for a few days. Ascaris eggs irradiated with doses of 200,000 rad. developed at the rate of 90 percent after 4 weeks, whereas those irradiated with 1,000,000 rad. developed 28 percent. Ascaris eggs irradiated with Cobalt(60) after 2 weeks of culture were poor in development compared with those of 4 week culture. Eggs cultured for 5 weeks showed weaker infectivity in mice than those cultured for 8 weeks. In the control groups, the infectivity in mice of Ascaris eggs was remained the same between 5 and 8 weeks. The minimum dose of Cobalt(60) irradiation effective for preventing infectivity in mice was estimated to be 200,000 rad.

Objective Following the prognosis of patients with myasthenia gravis(MG) who received both immunosuppressants and thymectomy, to determine whether the sequence and timing of treatment have influences on outcomes of MG and also to select significant predictors of prognosis.Methods It was a retrospective study which reviewed 105 patients with MG who underwent thymectomy and immunosuppressants between Januay, 2000 and December, 2013.All patients were divided into two subgroups based on their order of treatment.Thirty two patients were called as immunosuppressants-first group, and 73 patients were called as thymectomy-first group.The ratios of ideal status of two groups were compared with use of the ChiSquare test.Predictors of ideal status were analyzed by logistic regression.Results (1) After 1 year, 2 years and 5 years of intervention, the proportion of ideal status was significantly higher in the thymectomy-first group than that in the immunosuppressants-first group[(33％-50％) vs.(10％-20％), P ＜0.05].For oMG patients, after 1 year, 2 years and 5 years of treatment, thymectomy-first group had a higher ideal status rates than immunosuppressants-first group[(25％-50％) vs.(11％-18％)].But no significant difference was noted in the rates of ideal status at each follow-up time point.(2)Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that sequence of treatment (OR =0.154, 95 ％ CI: 0.046-0.518, P =0.002) and symptom-thymectomy interval(OR =0.903,95 ％ CI: 0.835-0.976, P =0.010) were the significant predictors of ideal status.Conclusion Thymectomy prior to immunosuppressants is associated with relatively good prognosis.It is suggested that patients with gMG, or adult patients with oMG who are resistant to drug, will be better to undergo thymecotomy as early as possible.

Objective To explore the clinical value of fetal syetem ultrasound union real-time three-dimensional ultrasound to diagnose the abnormalities of fetal palms and feet in medium-term pregnancy.Methods The results of fetal syetem ultrasound u-nion real-time three-dimensional ultrasound in 23 675 cases during dmedium-term pregnancy in our department from January 2009 to November 2013 were retrospectively analyzed,including 47 350 palms and feet.Results If using the fetal syetem ultrasound u-nion real-time three-dimensional ultrasound to examine fetal palms and feet more than three times,the display rate of palms and feet was 100.0%,while the first-time display rate of finger and toes was 81.2%,second-time display rate was 97.2% and the third-time and more display rate more thatn 99.8%.136 cases hand-foot deformity were diagnosed,including 37 cases of hand gesture abnor-malities,6 cases of finger abnormalities,93 cases of food abnormalities,and the main abnormality was strephexopodia.Of all the 136 cases,there were 2 cases also with Trisomy 18,4 cases with Trisomy 21.Conclusion Malformations of fetal palms and feet can be detected by fetal system ultrasound combined with real-time three-dimensional ultrasonography during the second trimester,which is important indicators of prenatal screening for chromosomal abnormalities.
