1.Challenge and opportunity of entry to WTO brings to scientific and technological periodical.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2004;20(4):415-416
After our country enters WTO, confronted with the direct influence in big international market opening, editorial department will face fierce competition. Selecting the superior and eliminate the inferior will test every publishing house and every magazine directly. In order to improve the competition level, author has analyzed the current situation of China's periodical development, and then explored the scientific and technological periodical opportunity and challenge faced under the new situation.

2.Study on preventive and therapeutic effects of astragali radix on denervated tibial muscle atrophy in rats.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(6):1083-1087
OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Astragali Radix on the denervated tibial muscle atrophy in rats, and discuss its mechanism.
METHODTotally 60 SPF-grade Sprague-Dawley rats were selected in the common peroneal nerve crush model, and then randomly divided into 6 groups: Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose, low-dose groups, the Mecobalamin group, the model group, and the sham operation group. They were administered with drugs after the operation. At 18 d, the pathological section staining and morphological analysis were performed. The wet-weight ratio and section area of tibial muscles were also measured. The real-time fluorescence quantification was adopted to detect the differential expression between Angptl4 and PI3K genes.
RESULT(1) Wet-weight ratio: The wet-weight ratio in Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose groups was much higher than that in the model group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) Section area: The sham operation group was higher, with regular morphology; Whereas the model group showed significant decrease, with chaotic structure and obvious connective tissue proliferation; Astragali Radix groups and the mecobalamin group showed relatively small section areas, with chaotic structure and unobvious connective tissue proliferation. Compared with the model group, Astragali Radix groups showed significant increase (P < 0.01). (3) Motor end plate: The sham operation group was in uniform brownish black color and oval or round shape; Astragali Radix medium-dose and high-dose group and the mecobalamin group showed rough line edges; Astragali Radix medium-dose and low-dose groups and the model group showed decline in the number, with irregular morphology, rough line edges and a light color. (4) Angptl4 and PI3K: Compared with the model group, the Astragali Radix high-dose group showed significant increase (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAstragali Radix has a significant effect in preventing and treating denervated tibial muscle atrophy. It may delay the muscle atrophy by increasing Angptl4 and PI3K gene expressions.

5.Statistical analysis of papers in Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology from 2009 to 2013.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2014;30(5):478-480
OBJECTIVETo analyze the status and papers information of Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology, and provide a guide for authors, readers and editing staffs.
METHODSWe retrieved papers of Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology from 2009 to 2013 from CNKI, and performed a statistical analysis of papers information contained in the text using bibliometrics method. Papers information such as document type, found support, author affiliation type, and discipline classification, etc. was analyzed.
RESULTSSeven hundred and forty two papers including 27 full English articles in total were published in Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology from 2009 to 2013. More papers were supported by national, provincial, and the other foundation, it was about 82.6% of all papers.
CONCLUSIONChinese Journal of Applied Physiology has stable manuscript resources, various discipline papers, and play an important role for development of applied physiology in China.

Chinese Journal of Marine Drugs 1994;0(02):-
Oyster protein was extracted from fresh oyster using salting-out method. It was determined by Kjeldahl procedure that the protein content was about 38. 6% and free amino-ni-trogen content of total nitrogen was about 21. 6%. Hydrolytic characteristic of oyster protein was analyzed by hydrolytic enzymes. SDS-PAGE results showed there were 4 types of protein zones. And the average molecular weight was 16172, 17633, 43227 and 57909, respectively.

Chinese Journal of Perinatal Medicine 2000;0(04):-
Objective To investigate the effect of exogenous GAs on learning and memory capability of hypoxic-ischemic(HI) brain damage rats. Methods After ligation of the right carotid artery of 7-day old male SD rats and waiting for 4 hours of recovery, the rats were exposed to 8% oxygen-92% nitrogen gas mixture for 2 hours. The HI animals were randomly divided into 3 groups. GAs-treated group 1: animals were injected i.p. GAs immediately after HI every 12 hours for 4 doses with 50 mg/kg, followed by a 2 weeks consecutive daily injections at dose of 30 mg/kg/day. GAs treated group 2: rats received GAs 50 mg/kg immediately after HI every 12 hours for 4 doses, followed by injection of saline in the same volums for 2 weeks. Control group: rats received saline in the equivalent volums and duration. The behavioral test starded when the animals were 24 days old. Discriminative learning ability and memory retention were tested in the tri-equal-arms maze . The locomotor activity and alternative behavior was observed. The degree of neuronal damage were assessed after behavioral test. Results (1)The number of trails to reach the learning criteria were (39?17), (32?14)and (20?13) for control group, GAs-treated group 2 and GAs-treated group 1, respectively. The percentages of memory retention for control group, GAs-treated group 2 and GAs-treated group 1 were (62?10)%, (64?11)% and (70?9)%, respectively. Two weeks consecutive daily injection of GAs had facilitatory effects on learning ability and memory retention of HI rats(P0.05). Conclusion Gangliosides can enhance the learning ability and memory retention in neonate rats with HI.

Objective To study the relationship between helicobacter pylori (HP)infection and hemicrania. Methods The serum HP IgG level and ~ 14 C expiration test were detected in patients with HP infected. The patients with hemicrania, health and at attack stage or interval stage or any degree attack stage of hemicrania were observed the condition of HP infection. The curative effect of HP patients treated with traditional method and plus with three combined anti-HP infection treatment was observed. Results The positive rate of HP infected in patients with hemicrania was higher than that of control(81.0% vs 30.96%, P

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2003;0(08):-
Objective To explore the feasibility of ultrasonic examination in the strain(S) and strain rate(SR) of carotid artery atheromatous plaque, and the distribution of S and SR of the atherosclerotic plaques. Methods Tissue velocity imaging(TVI) was used in 26 cases of coronary artery disease(CAD),and 35 atherosclerotic plaques in the carotid artery were found. The peak values of displacement, S and SR in different plaque sites were obtained with Q-analysis software. The estimation of S and SR of same sites was acquired in different parametric settings, including S length, S reject and S scale. Results Different parametric settings had no influence upon the estimation of S and SR. However, significant difference of S and SR could be found in different plaque sites, such as the shoulder, the surface of fibrous cap and the base and it was the same case among different acoustic plaque types. S and SR distribution patterns were similar between angina pectoris group and old myocardial infarction group; yet they were significantly different between acute myocardial infarction group and the former two groups. Conclusions TVI technique and ultrasonic Doppler-based strain imaging method could be used in carotid arteries. Strain concentrated mainly on the surface of fibrous cap and the plaque shoulder. SR of plaque shoulder among three acoustic plaque types was different. From the surface to the base axially, S and SR decreased gradually.
