1.Challenge and opportunity of entry to WTO brings to scientific and technological periodical.
Chinese Journal of Applied Physiology 2004;20(4):415-416
After our country enters WTO, confronted with the direct influence in big international market opening, editorial department will face fierce competition. Selecting the superior and eliminate the inferior will test every publishing house and every magazine directly. In order to improve the competition level, author has analyzed the current situation of China's periodical development, and then explored the scientific and technological periodical opportunity and challenge faced under the new situation.

2.Study on preventive and therapeutic effects of astragali radix on denervated tibial muscle atrophy in rats.
China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica 2014;39(6):1083-1087
OBJECTIVETo study the effect of Astragali Radix on the denervated tibial muscle atrophy in rats, and discuss its mechanism.
METHODTotally 60 SPF-grade Sprague-Dawley rats were selected in the common peroneal nerve crush model, and then randomly divided into 6 groups: Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose, low-dose groups, the Mecobalamin group, the model group, and the sham operation group. They were administered with drugs after the operation. At 18 d, the pathological section staining and morphological analysis were performed. The wet-weight ratio and section area of tibial muscles were also measured. The real-time fluorescence quantification was adopted to detect the differential expression between Angptl4 and PI3K genes.
RESULT(1) Wet-weight ratio: The wet-weight ratio in Astragali Radix high-dose, medium-dose groups was much higher than that in the model group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). (2) Section area: The sham operation group was higher, with regular morphology; Whereas the model group showed significant decrease, with chaotic structure and obvious connective tissue proliferation; Astragali Radix groups and the mecobalamin group showed relatively small section areas, with chaotic structure and unobvious connective tissue proliferation. Compared with the model group, Astragali Radix groups showed significant increase (P < 0.01). (3) Motor end plate: The sham operation group was in uniform brownish black color and oval or round shape; Astragali Radix medium-dose and high-dose group and the mecobalamin group showed rough line edges; Astragali Radix medium-dose and low-dose groups and the model group showed decline in the number, with irregular morphology, rough line edges and a light color. (4) Angptl4 and PI3K: Compared with the model group, the Astragali Radix high-dose group showed significant increase (P < 0.05).
CONCLUSIONAstragali Radix has a significant effect in preventing and treating denervated tibial muscle atrophy. It may delay the muscle atrophy by increasing Angptl4 and PI3K gene expressions.

Objective:To explore the influence of the value of the echocardiography in the detection of cancer therapeutics-related cardiotoxicity by World Alliance Societies of Echocardiography(WASE) study.Methods:Tirty-seven breast cancer patients underwent echocardiography at baseline before chemotherapy (T0) and after the second (T2), fourth (T4), sixth (T6) chemotheraphy cycles in Qilu Hospital of Shandong University from March 2017 to March 2018. According to different guidelines[ASE lower limit of normal left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF-LLN) 53%, ESC LVEF-LLN 50% and the WASE study (Women LVEF-LLN 58%, Asian Women LVEF-LLN 59%)], the number of patients with myocardial injury during chemotherapy was evaluated, and compared with the global longitudinal strain(GLS) standard, the percentages of patients with myocardial injury in different standards were analyzed. Results:With the up-regulation of LVEF-LLN, more patients with early myocardial damage were found. During chemotherapy, 1 patient showed left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) fell by >10% from baseline to LVEF<50% (2016 ESC Guidelines), 3 patients showed LVEF fell by >10% from baseline to LVEF<53% (2014 ASE Guidelines), 7 patients for LVEF fell by >10% from baseline to LCVEF<58%, and 9 patients for LVEF fell by >10% from baseline to LVEF<59%, which was still less than the number of patients detected by GLS criteria (18 patients), but the sensitivity of LVEF fell of >10% from baseline to LVEF<59% was not statistically different from GLS standard ( P>0.05). Conclusions:With the up-regulation of LVEF-LLN, the sensitivity of LVEF in evaluating early myocardial damage was increased, but GLS was still the most sensitive index to monitor the cancer therapeutics-related myocardial damage.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 1993;0(02):-
Objective To evaluate the ventricula r septal defect qualitatively and quantitatively by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE).Methods RT-3DE were performed in 10 pig hearts with 22 ventricular septal defects in multiple orientations and cross sections. The diameters and areas of ventricular septal defects were measured both in RT-3DE and anatomic view. Echo images and parameters derived by RT-3DE were compared with anatomic view. Results Technically satisfactory RT-3DE images were obtained in all preparations. The location, size, morphology, and spatial relationships with surrounding cardiac structure of ventricular septal defects were displayed instantly. No significant differences were found between RT-3DE and anatomic measurements. Conclusions RT-3DE has advantages of instantly displaying the ventricular septal defects in anyplane and has important surgical and interventional implications.

Objective To explore the methodology of sca nning, cutting and measuring normal cardiovascular structures by real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (RT-3DE) and it's clinical applications. Methods Conventional two-dimensional echocardiography (2-DE), RT-3DE and full volume three-dimensional echocardiography (FV-3DE)were performed in 20 normal volunteers to visualize normal cardiovascular structures in multiple orientations and cross sections both in static and dynamic fashions, and all echo images derived by three techniques were compared and analyzed. Results Technically satisfactory 2-DE, RT-3DE and FV-3DE images were obtained in all subjects. Compared with conventional 2-DE technique, RT-3DE has the advantages of instantly displaying three orthogonal planes and spatial relationships of any cardiac structure within a "piece of cake" images of a regional heart, while FV-3DE has the superiority in rapidly depicting three orthogonal planes and spatial relationships of any cardiac structure within a pyramid images of a whole heart. Conclusions Both RT-3DE and FV-3DE techniques can display cardiac structures unobtainable by 2-DE and are useful in reducing the subjectivity and blindness of 2-DE studies, which may enhance the diagnostic accuracy and work efficiency of echo laboratories and produce important clinical values.

Chinese Journal of Ultrasonography 2003;0(11):-
Objective To compare the reduction in left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) caused by monotherapy with ramipril or losartan or the combination of these two drugs,in patients with hypertensive LVH and to evaluate the value of three-dimensional echocardiography (3DE) on LVH regression. Methods Ninety-six essential hypertensive patients with LVH were enrolled in this study. All patients were randomly divided into 3 groups: ramipril group, losartan group, combination group with ramipril and losartan.Left ventricular mass(LVM) was calculated by M-mode echocardiography,two-dimensional echocardiography and 3DE at baseline and after 6 months treatment with ramipril or losartan. Results Of 96 patients enrolled,59 patients have complete follow-up datum.LVM of ramipril, losartan and combination group decreased 16.9% , 17.9% and 18.8% compared with before treatment.LVM by 3DE decreased 11.6% , 14.7% and 13.6% respectively. The difference of LVM derived from 3DE showed obviously lower than derived from M-mode echocardiography. Conclusions Applying M-mode echocardiography and two-dimensional echocardiography to evaluate the regression of LVH will overestimate the effects of drugs.Three-dimensional echocardiography may detect the changes of LVM more accurately.
