Objective:To investigate the clinical value of conventional ultrasound combined with contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in diagnosis of chromophobe renal cell carcinoma (ChRCC).Methods:We retrospectively analyzed the ultrasound features of 40 cases with ChRCC which were confirmed by operation and pathology from January 2012 to January 2018 in our hospital. The site, shape, size, capsule, internal echo and blood supply of the lesions were observed by routine ultrasound. Then CEUS showed the modality of enhancement, including the arrival time, peak time, peak intensity, distribution and the washout time. Results:Among the 40 cases, 38 cases were single, 2 cases were multiple, 17 cases were left kidney, 22 cases were right kidney, 1 case was double kidney. The tumors were located in the upper part of the kidney in 8 cases (20.0%), the lower part of the kidney in 9 cases (22.5%), and the middle part of the kidney in 23 cases (57.5%). One of the tumors was located in the right renal pelvis, and the lesion invaded the renal capsule in 11 cases (27.5%). The tumor was round, quasi round or oval, with clear boundary in 35 cases (87.5%), unclear boundary in 5 cases (12.5%), and the maximum diameter was 2.0-11.2 (5.1±0.8)cm. The lesions were hypoechoic in 23 cases (57.5%), isoechoic in 7 cases (17.5%), slightly hyperechoic in 7 cases (17.5%), cystic and solid mixed echo in 3 cases (7.5%), homogeneous echo in 23 cases (57.5%), heterogeneous echo in 17 cases (42.5%), and calcification in 5 cases (12.5%). Color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI) showed that blood vessels could be seen around the lesions, and no obvious blood flow signal was detected in 15 cases (37.5%) of the lesions; few star shaped blood flow signals could be detected in 12 cases (30%) of the lesions, short strip shaped blood flow signals could be detected in 7 cases (17.5%) of the lesions, and abundant blood flow signals could be seen in 6 cases (15%) of the lesions. Four patients underwent contrast-enhanced ultrasound examination at the same time. The lesions began to strengthen rapidly and evenly at the same time in the renal cortex, showing slightly low enhancement, and disappeared earlier than the renal cortex, showing a " fast forward and fast backward" perfusion mode. No tumor thrombus in draining vein, perirenal tissue and lymph node metastasis were found in all cases. Conclusions:Conventional ultrasound show ChRCC to be poor blood supply of solid tumors in the renal parenchyma, most of which are hypoechoic or isoechoic, with clear boundaries. CEUS show the lesions taking on high wash-in and wash-out, low enhancement than the surrounding renal cortex. These features are helpful for preoperative ultrasound diagnosis of ChRCC.

Phospholipase Ds (PLDs) exist in many plants. PLDs catalyse the hydrolysis of phospholipids (e.g. phosphatidylcholine) in cell membrane into phosphatidic acid (PA) and polar free heads (e.g. choline). Two PLD members from rice, OsPLD3 and OsPLD4, were studied by reverse genetics approaches. The results showed that the promoters of OsPLD3 and OsPLD4 could drive the expression of the reporter gene in various tissues of the rice flower organs at different levels. The expression of both genes was induced by wounding and methyl jasmonate (MeJA), but with different intensity at different time intervals. No prominent phenotypes were observed by RNA interference with the gene-specific artificial miRNAs or over-expression of the target genes in rice plants, implying the functional redundancy among different members of the rice PLD family.

Gene expression in rice roots under nutritional stress was studied using micro array techniques. The results showed that when re-supplied with sufficient amounts of nutrition after nutrition stress, the expression of OsPra2 (a small G protein which is homologous with Pea Pra2 protein) decreased in the plants root tissue. The cDNA sequence of the OsPra2 gene and its promoter, which is about 1 kb upstream of the translation origin point, was obtained using RT-PCR and PCR approaches. The OsPra2 protein contains four conserved GTP/GDP binding domains and specific domain of Rab small G protein family. The expression of OsPra2 and GST fusion protein in onion epidermal cells showed that OsPra2 protein was localized in the membrane and nucleus of the cell. The fusion expression of OsPra2 promoter and GUS reporter gene in transgenic rice suggested that the OsPra2 promoter allowed GUS expression in coleoptiles and roots. Compared with wild type rice, OsPra2 over expressed transgenic rice showed an obvious dwarf phenotype which resembles the BR deficient rice.

The preliminary role of calcineurin B-like protein-interacting protein kinases (CIPKs) in stress response is defined but the exact function of OsCIPK10 gene in rice stress response and its expression pattern yet unclear. In this study we explored the possible functions of OsCIPK10 gene by reverse genetics approaches and also revealed its expression pattern by GUS staining. From the preliminary study of this gene we presumed its function to assist plant to resist stress but over-expressed OsCIPK10 rice transgenic lines showed no significant phenotypic differences from the wild type either under high salt or low potassium conditions, however the gene knockdown plants using inverted repeat strategy presented meaningful healthy plants compared to wild type under the stress of salt. Further we checked the expression profile under high salt and low potassium conditions in wild type and found that OsCIPK10 decreases under high salt and increases on low potassium conditions. So we speculate that OsCIPK10 is actually going to function in response to high salt and low potassium stress. We also explored the expression pattern of this gene using Gus staining and found that gene expresses in all plant tissues, the only exception observed was its higher expression in the vascular tissues.

Chinese Journal of Modern Applied Pharmacy 2024;41(8):1111-1118
OBJECTIVE
To provide reference for improving the construction of China's emergency drugs supply guarantee mechanism.
METHODS
Based on the 4R model, the literature research method was used to carry out a systematic analysis of the management measures and operation of emergency drugs in China and the United States in four stages: reduction, readiness, response and recovery, and to make a side-by-side comparison.
RESULTS
The flexibility of the United States in its legal system had contributed to the maturity of strategic national stockpile, with a dedicated Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response responsible for the implementation and management of the entire supply process, focusing on the development of information systems and the maintenance of physical stockpiles. In contrast, China's national pharmaceutical reserve emphasized its respective roles and responsibilities, with joint management of institutions, and the reserve tasks and transportation and distribution were mainly undertaken by enterprises, which provided more room for operation in the overall supply process, but the regulatory rules for enterprises had yet to be further improved.
CONCLUSION
It is recommended that China, on the basis of its own national conditions, draw on the characteristics and experience of the United States strategic national stockpile, improve and perfect the relevant laws and regulations as soon as possible, build a management system with an efficient management organization at its core, supplemented by an information management system, and at the same time, assist in promoting the virtuous cycle of rotational stockpiling by enterprises, and actively carry out summary and assessment work, in order to promote the optimization and development of the mechanism of guaranteeing the supply of emergency drugs in the long term.

Purpose:
The optimal treatment for gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (GEJA) remains controversial. We evaluated the treatment patterns and outcomes of patients with locally advanced GEJA according to the histological type.
Materials and Methods:
We conducted a single-institution retrospective cohort study of patients with locally advanced GEJA who underwent curative-intent surgical resection between 2010 and 2020. Perioperative therapies as well as clinicopathologic, surgical, and survival data were collected. The results of endoscopy and histopathological examinations were assessed for Siewert and Lauren classifications.
Results:
Among the 58 patients included in this study, 44 (76%) were clinical stage III, and all received neoadjuvant therapy (72% chemoradiation, 41% chemotherapy, 14% both chemoradiation and chemotherapy). Tumor locations were evenly distributed by Siewert Classification (33% Siewert-I, 40% Siewert-II, and 28% Siewert-III). Esophagogastrectomy (EG) was performed for 47 (81%) patients and total gastrectomy (TG) for 11 (19%) patients. All TG patients received D2 lymphadenectomy compared to 10 (21%) EG patients.Histopathological examination showed the presence of 64% intestinal-type and 36% diffuse-type histology. The frequencies of diffuse-type histology were similar among Siewert groups (37% Siewert-I, 36% Siewert-II, and 33% Siewert-III). Regardless of Siewert type and compared to intestinal-type, diffuse histology was associated with increased intraabdominal recurrence rates (P=0.03) and decreased overall survival (hazard ratio, 2.33; P=0.02). With a median follow-up of 31.2 months, 29 (50%) patients had a recurrence, and the median overall survival was 50.5 months.
Conclusions
Present in equal proportions among Siewert types of esophageal and gastric cancer, a diffuse-type histology was associated with high intraabdominal recurrence rates and poor survival. Histopathological evaluation should be considered in addition to anatomic location in the determination of multimodal GEJA treatment strategies.
