BACKGROUND:The establishment of animal models of Parkinson’s disease plays an important role in clinical and basic experiments of Parkinson’s disease, and its stability directly affected study results. OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the behavior and pathological changes of rats with Parkinson’s disease established by unilateral two-point injection with 6-hydroxydopamine.
METHODS:A total of 62 Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into experimental group (n=50) and normal group (n=12). Using stereotatic technique, 6-hydroxydopamine was injected into the right substantia nigra
RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 2 weeks, after induction with apomorphine, left rotation speed>7 r/min was observed in only 22 rats of the experimental group. No significant difference in the number of rotation between 2 and 4 weeks was detected (P>0.05). Tyrosine hydroxylase and dopamine content significantly reduced in the model group. Results indicated that unilateral two-point injection of 6-hydroxydopamine could be used to
successful y establish rat models of Parkinson’s disease with similar behaviors and pathologies.

Objective To investigate the prognostic factors in acute myeloid leukemia subtype M2 (AML-M2) patients with chromosome translocation of 8 and 21. Methods By using G-banding analyses karyotype and combining the clinical data, prognostic factors in 94 cases of de novo adult AML-M2 in our hospital from 2001 to 2007 were retrospectively analyzed. Results Chromosome 8 and 21 translocation were identified in 53.2 % (50/94) of AML-M2 cases. In the patients with other aberrations in addition to t(8;21), their complete remission (CR) rates, overall survival (OS) was lower than the patients with sole t (8;21) and normal karyotype(P <0.05). And the patients with sole t (8;21) whose CR rates and OS had no difference with patients with normal karyotype (P>0.05). The patients were divided into 3 subgroups (low index, less than 2.5;intermediate index, 2.5-20;high index, 20 or more) according to WBC index. The CR had no difference among the 3 subgroups, but the OS of the 3 subgroups was different (P<0.05). The OS in the lowest index group was longer than that in the others. Conclusion Cytogenetically, 53.2% cases had chromosome 8 and 21 translocation, 46 % cases had t(8;21) with additional chromosomal abnormalities, and the main additional abnormalities were loss of a sex chromosome (LOS). t(8;21) AML-M2 patients with additional chromosome abnormalities had low complete remission rate and shorter survival time, and its prognosis was poorer. WBC index have no influence on complete remission rate but effected the survival time.

Hepatic nodules in patients with Budd-Chiari syndrome (B-CS) are identified in clinical work and the differentiating diagnosis is very important for making the treatment strategy. Most B-CS patients with hepatic nodules have nonspecific clinical manifestations.Ultrasonography, computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging are often used for differentiating diagnosis.According to the results of retrospective study on clinical and imaging data of 51 B-CS patients with hepatic nodules,we draw a conclusion that the differentiating diagnosis of hepatic nodules in patients with B-CS depends on imaging characteristics.Different treatment strategies are adopted according to the comprehensive analysis of these imaging data and satisfactory results can be achieved.

Simvastatin,a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A reductase inhibitor,is widely prescribed to patients with hypercholesteremia and its muscular toxicity has been widely reported. The metabolism of simvastatin depends on the enzymic activity of cytochrome P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) and inhibitors of CYP3A4 can result in clinical events by interacting with simvastatin.Diltiazem is a moderate inhibitor of CYP3A4,which is known to increase the serum concentration of simvastatin. Here we report a patient with unrecognized hypothyroidism who had been stable for more than one year on low-dose simvastatin therapy of hypercholesteremia and rhabdomyolysis occurred with the addition of diltiazem. This is one of scanty reports of rhabdomyolysis induced by simvastatindiltiazem drug interaction, especially in hypothyroid patient. This case reminds the clinicians that although diltiazem as a moderate CYP3A4 inhibitor can be used cautiously with small doses of CYP3A4-dependent statius (eg,simvastatin),these two commonly used drugs should be avoided in hypothyroid patient.
