Immunoenhancement activity of bee pollen and its acetone extract was studied in normal, sarcoma-180 bearing, cyclophosphamide- and antilymphocyte serum-treated mice.Bee pollen and its acetone extract given orally for 30 days could significantly increase the production of serum anti-SRBC hemolysin (HC50) and the number of spleen plaque forming cells (PFC) in primary response to sheep red blood cell (SRBC) in young and adult mice. The acetone extract of bee pollen could significantly prevent the decrease of HC50) the number of PFC and specific rosette forming cells (SRFC), and the quantitative hemolysin of spleen cells (QHS) against SRBC in S-180 bearing, cyclophosphamide- and antilymphocyte serum-treated mice respectively. These results suggested that bee pollen of Brassica campestris L. and its acetone extract have immune-enhancement activity.

Objective To understand the application of Nursing Information Management Software to provide reference for Nursing Information Construction of our country. Methods A self-designed questionnaire was employed and according to stratified sampling principle, 334 nursing managers were enrolled in this study to investigate the awareness of nursing managers on the traditional nursing management model and the application of nursing management software. Results Nearly 96.41%(322/334) of nursing managers believed that the introduction of nursing management software is very necessary, 94.90%(317/334) of managers believed that the use of nursing management software could improve work efficiency in different degrees, and 98.09%(328/334) of nursing managers gave the management software good evaluation. But because of the software features, cost-effective and hospital attention and other reasons, only 52.99%(177/334) of the managers applied the software. Conclusions The use of nursing management software is the only way to develop the nursing work, but its function needs to be further improved, the software also needs to further promote the application.

Objective To observe the effect of the expanding training orthosis on webbed-finger adhesion post burn. Methods From May, 2014 to April, 2016, 37 hands of 33 patients with webbed-finger adhesion post burn were divided into two groups. 21 hands from 18 patients were as experimental group, 16 hands from 15 patients were as control group. The control group accepted routine care, while the experimental group accepted the expanding training orthosis in addition. Their angles between the fingers were measured six months after treatment. Results The angles between the fingers increased in the experimental group after treatment (t>3.060, P<0.01), and were more than those of the control group (t>2.273, P<0.05). Conclusion Application of expanding training orthosis can improve the compliance of the patients with webbed-finger adhesion post burn, and promote hand function recovery.

Objective To investigate the levels of γδ T cells and their subpopulations in bone marrow(BM)of patients with myelodysplastic syndrome(MDS),it aims to explore the immune deficiency status of BM microenvi-ronment in MDS patients. Methods BM samples were collected from MDS patients before and after treatment,as well as from normal donors.Multicolor flow cytometry was utilized to detect bone marrow γδ T cells and subpopulation levels. The changes of the T cell subsets after treatment were also analyzed. Results The levels of BM γδ T cells and follicular helper γδ T cells from MDS patients were significantly lower than those of normal donors(P<0.05).Among γδ T cells at different stages of differentiation, only the frequencies of na?ve γδ T cells from MDS patients decreased significantly(P = 0.037),and there was no significant difference observed about central memory, effector memory, and terminally differentiated γδ T cells in MDS patients compared to normal donors(P>0.05).Although there was a slight decrease in PD1+γδ T cells and an increase in TIM3+γδ T cells, these differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05).In patients who achieved a curative effect, the proportions of γδ T cells and naive γδ T cells increased significantly after treatment, and the effector memory γδ T cells decreased significantly after treatment(P<0.05).After treatment,85.71%(6/7)of MDS patients showed a decrease in γδ+TIM3+ T cell levels to varying degrees. Conclusions The levels of γδ T cells and their subpopulations in the BM microenvironment of patients with MDS exhibit varying degrees of abnormalities. However,in patients who receive effective treatment, these abnormal γδ T cells can recover.By detecting the levels of γδ T cells and subpopulations,we can gain insights into the immune deficiency status of MDS.This information might serve as an indicator to assess treatment efficacy and provide valuable insights for anti-tumor immunotherapy.

Hepatosteatosis is characterized by abnormal accumulation of triglycerides(TG),leading to prolonged and chronic inflammatory infiltration. To date, there is still a lack of effective and economical therapies for hepatosteatosis.Oridonin(ORI)is a major bioactive component extracted from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb Rabdosia rubescens. In this paper,we showed that ORI exerted significant protective ef-fects against hepatic steatosis, inflammation and fibrosis, which was dependent on LXRα signaling. It is reported that LXRα regulated lipid homeostasis between triglyceride(TG)and phosphatidylethanol-amine(PE)by promoting ATCL and EPT1 expression. Therefore,we implemented the lipidomic strategy and luciferase reporter assay to verify that ORI contributed to the homeostasis of lipids via the regulation of the ATGL gene associated with TG hydrolysis and the EPT1 gene related to PE synthesis in a LXRα-dependent manner, and the results showed the TG reduction and PE elevation. In detail, hepatic TG overload and lipotoxicity were reversed after ORI treatment by modulating the ATCL and EPT1 genes, respectively.Taken together, the data provide mechanistic insights to explain the bioactivity of ORI in attenuating TG accumulation and cytotoxicity and introduce exciting opportunities for developing novel natural activators of the LXRα-ATGL/EPT1 axis for pharmacologically treating hepatosteatosis and metabolic disorders.

In this study, we explored the neural mechanism underlying impaired stereopsis and possible functional plasticity after strabismus surgery. We enrolled 18 stereo-deficient patients with intermittent exotropia before and after surgery, along with 18 healthy controls. Functional magnetic resonance imaging data were collected when participants viewed three-dimensional stimuli. Compared with controls, preoperative patients showed hypoactivation in higher-level dorsal (visual and parietal) areas and ventral visual areas. Pre- and postoperative activation did not significantly differ in patients overall; patients with improved stereopsis showed stronger postoperative activation than preoperative activation in the right V3A and left intraparietal sulcus. Worse stereopsis and fusional control were correlated with preoperative hypoactivation, suggesting that cortical deficits along the two streams might reflect impaired stereopsis in intermittent exotropia. The correlation between improved stereopsis and activation in the right V3A after surgery indicates that functional plasticity may underlie the improvement of stereopsis. Thus, additional postoperative strategies are needed to promote functional plasticity and enhance the recovery of stereopsis.
