Objective To observe the effect of shuanghuang liquid on bum wound healing. Meth-ods 120 cases of patients with moderate bums adopted shuanghuang liquid (the treatment group) and gentamyein (the control group) for wound dressing change, wound pain and wound healing effect were com-pared between the two groups. Results The two groups showed difference in reducing wound pain and shortening time of wound healing. Conclusions Shuanghuang liquid was superior to gentamycin in wound healing and wounds pain.

Objective To analyze the separation and displacement of bone fragments in sagittal fracture of the mandibular condyle (SFMC),understand the motion type and guide clinical treatment and development of related surgical instruments.Methods Forty-five patients (52 sides) with SFMC treated between October 2008 and October 2012 were enrolled; 32 patients (36 sides) were males and 13 patients (16 sides) were females.According to the Neff classification,there were 20 sides with type A,28 sides type B and 4 sides type M.All the patients underwent CT scan and were classified based on measurements of distance and angle of displaced bone fragments.Results Patients were categorized into type Ⅰ on 20 sides (type Ⅰ A on 14 sides and type Ⅰ B on 6 sides),type Ⅱ on 27 sides (type Ⅱ A on 11 sides and type ⅡB on 16 sides),type ⅢB in 1 side and type Ⅳ in4 sides.Mean displacement of bone fragments was 12 mm (range,4-16 mm) ; mean deviation angle was 34°(range,11°-43°) ; mean descending distance was 13 mm (range,6-18 mm).Conclusion CT analysis results show that,mast bone fragments in SFMC move slightly.

Objective To develop a suitable forcep for reduction and internal fixation of sagittal fracture of mandibular condyle (SFMC) and evaluate its role in clinical practice.Methods Twenty patients with SFMC diagnosed by three-dimensional CT undergone open surgery were divided into experimental group and control group with 10 patients per group,according to the random number table.Patients in experimental group were reduced and fixed using the new reduction forcep,while in control group by the classical vascular clamp and nerve retractor.Operation time,three-dimensional CT before operation and 2 weeks after operation,and occlusion,maximum mouth opening (MMO),visual analogue scale (VAS),joint clicking as well as noise before operation and 1 and 6 months after operation were recorded.Results Operation time was obviously lower in experimental group than in control group [(0.90 ± O.11)hours vs (1.34 ±0.10)hours,t =-10.8,P ＜0.01].MMO in experimental group revealed significant improvements compared to control group at postoperative 1 month [(32.6 ± 1.6) mm vs (29.7 ±1.6)mm,t =-10.1,P＜0.01] and at postoperative 6 months [(34.3 ± 1.2)mm vs (33.3 ± 1.1)mm,t =3.4,P ＜0.01].VAS between experimental group and control group also differed significantly at postoperative 1 month [(3.6 ± 0.7) mm vs (5.1 ± 0.7) mm,t =-12.5,P ＜ 0.01] and at 6 months [(3.5±0.9) points vs (4.8±0.6) points,t=-3.3,P＜0.01].Conclusion The new reduction forcep can shorten operative time and improve mouth opening and pai for SFMC.

Objective To study the effect of fosinopril on the expression of NADPH oxidase subunit p22phox mRNA and the extracellular matrix (ECM) accumulation in the kidneys of rats with diabetes mellitus . Methods Diabetic rats induced by streptozotocin were randomly divided into control group(DM group) and fosinopril group (fosinopril 10 mg'kg-1·d-1) (DM+Fosin group) and treated for 12 weeks . Expression of p22phox mRNA of NADPH oxidase in kidneys was measured by RT-PCR . The expression of fibroneetin was studied by immunohistochemistry and matrix metalloproteinases 9 activity was detected by Zymography . Meanwhile, the kidney hypertrophy index, serum creatinine level and 24-hour urinary protein excretion were evaluated . Results The expression level of p22phox mRNA in the kidneys of DM+Fosin group rats was decreased by 45% than that of DM group at week 4 (P＜0 .05) . At week 8 fosinopril significantly decreased the expression of glomerular and tubulointerstitial fibronectin by 52,5% and 42 .9% respectively (P＜0 .05), while increased MMP-9 activity by 29 .6% (P＜0 .05) compared with DM group . Fosinopril significantly decreased 24-hour urinary protein excretion of diabetic rats from week 8 . Serum creatinine level, 24-hour urinary protein excretion and kidney hypertrophy index were significantly decreased by 35 .9%, 50 .2% and 17 .2% in rats of DM+Fosin group than those of DM group at week 12 (P＜0 .05) . Fosinopril did not affect blood sugar significantly . Conclusion Fosinopril has beneficial effect on diabetic nephropathy partly through inhibiting the expression of NADPH oxidase p22 phox mRNA .

Objective To explore the association between maternal methylene tetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T polymorphism and neural tube defects (NTDs). Methods CBM, VIP, CNKI, Wanfang, PubMed and Web of Science databases from set up to March, 2014 were electronically searched to identify case-control studies on the relationship between maternal MTHFR C677T polymorphism and NTDs. The data were quantitatively analyzed by RevMan 5.0 software. Results A total of 25 studies were selected including 2 282 cases and 3 420 controls. Overall, the pooled OR (with 95%CI) under co-dominant model and allele contrast were 2.28(1.60-3.24), 1.25(1.02-1.53) and 1.42(1.21-1.67). Subgroup analysis showed significant association between maternal MTHFR C677T polymorphism and NTDs susceptibility in Asian populations. Conclusion The present meta-analysis suggests that MTHFR C677T polymorphism is significantly associated with maternal risk for NTDs, especially in Asian populations.

Objective To investigate the application of hematology analyzer in cell counting of serous cavity effusion .Methods Humoral mode of Sysmex XE-5000 automated hematology analyzer and manual microscopy were employed to perform cell counting in 85 samples of serous cavity effusion .Results Compared with the manual method and instrument method ,differences of mononu-clear cells and multinucleated cells of serous cavity effusion showed no statistical significance (P>0 .05) ,while those of leukocytes , erythrocytes were found statistical significance (P<0 .05) .Conclusion Sysmex XE-5000 automated hematology analyzer has advan-tages of simple ,stability and accuracy ,however ,its application in the effusion cell counting can not completely replace the manual microscopy .

AIM: To evaluate the blood compatibility of a new bioartificial reactor membranous material (propylene-acidamide grafted poly propylene membrane, PP-g-AAm) in vitro. METHODS: Contacted PP-g-AAm membrane and PP (polypropylene) memb rane with platelet-rich plasma in a swing bed, 37 ℃, to simulate the conditions in vivo, and another group of PRP without any membranes was set as control group. ELISA was used to study the expression of ?-thromboglobulin, and flow cy tometry was used to study CD62P and CD63 expressio n of the activated blood platelets after contacting the two kinds of membranes w ith PRP. Scanning electrical microscopy was used to study the configuration and numbers of platelet cells adhered on the membranes. Objective To investigate the reference intervals of mean corpuscular volume (MCV) ,mean corpuscular hemoglo‐bin(MCH) and mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration (MCHC) examined by the MindrayBC‐6800 hematological analyzer to establish the reference intervals suitable for our laboratory .Methods According to the method recommended by the NCCLS C28‐A3 ,600 healthy adult individuals were selected as the reference individuals .MCV ,MCH and MCHC levels were determined by the MindrayBC‐6800 hematological analyzer for constructing the reference intervals ;other 150 healthy persons undergoing the physical examination were selected and their MCH ,MCV and MCHC detection results were collected for verifying the established reference intervals .Results The detection results of MCV ,MCH and MCHC in healthy adults showed a normal distribution ,MCV had sta‐tistical difference among different age periods (P<0 .05);the reference intervals :82 .278 -94 .242 fL for young adults ,83 .032-94 .608 fL for the middle‐aged persons and 83 .137-96 .343 fL for the elderly .MCH had statistical differences between different se‐xes and among different age periods ;the reference intervals :27 .785-32 .415 pg for male young adults ,28 .324-32 .456 pg for male middle‐aged persons and 28 .274-32 .966 pg for male elderly ;27 .367-31 .973 pg for female young adults ,27 .445-32 .215 pg for female middle‐aged persons and 27 .532 -32 .468 pg for female elderly .MCHC had statistical difference between different sexes (P<0 .05) ;the reference intervals :328 .611-352 .810 g/L for male and 323 .771-348 .750 g/L for female .In 150 individuals un‐dergoing the physical examination ,the proportion of individuals locating at the outside of reference interval was less than 10 .0% , therefore the newly established intervals were suitable for this laboratory .Conclusion The sex difference or/and age differences of MCV ,MCH and MCHC exist among adult populations .So the reference intervals are respectively established according to the prac‐tical situation ,which are suitable for this laboratory by verification .

Objective]In order to study the impact of adenoid hypertrophy(AH)with allergic rhinitis(AR)in the otitis media with effusion(OME)in children,as well as to discuss the risk factors on the inducement of OME in patients with AH.[Methods]The clinical materials were collected and analyzed from 205 children with AH who admitted for surgical treatment between 2013 and 2015, including medical history and signs,acoustic immittance measurement,allergy screen as well as blood routine,and to evaluate the situation of OME and AR in patients with AH. All the data were analyzed by SPSS 20.0.[Results]Among the 205 AH children,66 cases(32.20%)were accompanying with OME. The AH patients aged 3-5 years had the highest incidence of OME,which decreased with age(P=0.018). It is significant on the prevalence of the OME in patients with AH between the two groups with and without AR (P = 0.010). In the logistic model investigating the risk factors of inducing OME among patients with AH,the third-degree AH, Type-three and the accompanying with AR were significant. The third-degree and third-type AH children were 2.729 and 6.390-folds higher than others respectively (P = 0.047,P = 0.001). The incidence of OME appeared to be 1.212-folds higher among patients with AR(P = 0.010).[Conclusion]Mechanical obstruction and AR played a superimposed role in the inducement of OME among patients with AH,which was effected by multiple factors. We should pay attention to the“lateral respiratory”allergic diseases on eustachian tube and middle ear.
