Objective To investigate the effect of calcitonin gene related peptide(CGRP) on the expression of cyclic AMP response element binding protein(CREB) mRNA in rat hippocampus and parietal cortex during focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion(I/R). Methods Focal cerebral ischemia/reperfusion model was induced by occluding of the right middle cerebral artery using the intraluminal suture method.Hybridization in situ experiment was used to detect the expression of CREB mRNA in the ipsilateral hippocampal CA1 region and parietal cortex during different reperfusion periods. The positive product of CREB mRNA was analyzed by image analysis system. Results There was a distinct expression of CREB mRNA in right hippocampal CA1 region and parietal cortex in sham group. The absorbency of CREB mRNA positive product reduced in I/R group as compared to sham group, while it increased in CGRP group than I/R group(P

Standardized patient(SP) is the core element of medical student evaluation system and completes the contents and tasks of objective structured clinical skills examination(OSCE).Its training level directly affects the accuracy and science of the evaluation system.By training and management,SP can be applied in interrogation, physical and other exams for undergraduate, graduate, continuing education students. It has been recognized apparently that the application of SP meets the target of cultivating innovative medical talents and plays a key role in practice evaluation and appraisal system.SP is the useful supplement for the cmrent clinical teaching methods and means.

OBJECTIVE:
To determine the genotype of an individual suspected for Aw through DNA sequencing.
METHODS:
Serologic testing was carried out with standard methods. Exons 6 and 7 of the ABO genes were amplified by PCR and subjected to direct sequencing or sequenced after gene cloning.
RESULTS:
Serological testing showed that the forward typing and reverse typing were Aw and A, respectively. DNA sequencing revealed that the individual has carried an Aw allele and an O allele. Haplotype sequencing of each allele has revealed a nt543 variant (543G>C) in the Aw allele.
CONCLUSION
The individual was verified as a rare A subtype, which was previously unreported in mainland China.
