Chinese Journal of Rehabilitation Theory and Practice 2003;9(3):153-155
ObjectiveTo explore the change of the concentration of monoamine neurotransmitters in serum in patients with post stroke depression(PSD).Methods85 patients with acute stroke were screened by Center for Epidemiological Survey,Depression Scale(CES-D) and assessed by Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD).A clinical diagnostic of depression was made based on Diagnostic and Statistical Mannal of Mental Disorders, edition 4(DSM-Ⅳ).There were 34 patients who involved with depression(PSD group), the others(51 cases) not(no depression group).Other 20 normal persons were chosen as a control(control group). In all patients and control subjects, the concentrations of monoamine neurotransmitters in serum was measured.ResultsThe concentration of monoamine neurotransmitters in serum was significantly lower in patients with post stroke depression.ConclusionsPost stroke depression is related to decrease of concentrations of monoamine neurotransmitters in serum.

Objective: The caracteristics of rapid arrhythmia in the south region of our country are simultaneous appearance of phlegm. heat, blood stasis and deficiency, and slow arrhythmia are intermingled deficiency. blood stasis and phlegm. Thus, they were treated respectively by clearing away heat, eliminating Yang and removing blood stasis, and warming Yang to remove blood stasis respectively. Results: The total effective rate was 96. 55% in 261 cases of rapid arrhythmia treated by modified Ding Xin Decoction, and 78. 46% in the control group with a significant difference between the two groups (P

The image guided radio therapy (IGRT) Imaging System based on cone-beam computer tomography (CBCT) can reach the goal of improving the accuracy of the radiotherapy. However, because the clinical registration between CBCT images and Planning CT images is carried out manually, it inevitably reduces radiation positioning accuracy to some extent. To tackle the problem, we proposed a new feature vector selection method for the CBCT image elastic registration in the framework of hierarchical attribute matching mechanism for elastic registration (HAMMER) algorithm. We analyzed the characteristics of HAMMER algorithm and used Canny operator which has a better edge detection and positioning performance to replace the noise-sensitive gradient amplitude. Therefore, we used a new attribute vector, which consisted of the intensity, Laplacian of the Gaussian and Canny operator, to ex tract the image feature points in CBCT and planning CT images. We also presented an adaptive feature-point selection method and the choice criteria of attribute vector weights. Experimental results showed that the new feature vector effectively avoided the noise interference resulted from scattering lines in CBCT images to improve registration accuracy, and it also decreased the required feature point numbers and reduced the computation redundancy, so that it provided a new approach for the clinical elastic registration of CBCT and Planning CT rapidly and accurately.

Chinese Journal of Clinical Oncology 2010;37(6):342-344
Objective: To investigate the clinicopathologic characteristics and etiological factors of cervical cancer in young Uygur women in Xinjiang. Methods" We reviewed 350 cases of young Uygur females diagnosed with cervical cancer in our hospital during 1998-2007.The patients were divided into two groups according to their admission time (1998~2002 group and 2003~2007 group). Results: The incidence of cervical carcinoma among yong Uygur women was 12.9% in the 1998-2002 group and 10.3% in the 2003-2007 group. The first symptom was vaginal contactive bleeding. In both groups, most patients were peasants, but the percentages of highbrow was higher in the 2003-2007 group.Patients in the 2003~2007 group were of older age at first marriage and had lower rate of abortion. There was no significant difference in histological type between the two groups. However, patients in the 2003-2007 group presented with much earlier stage of cervical cancer and 56.9% of them were of stage Ⅱ disease, compared with 18.1% in the 1998-2002 group (P<0.05).Squamous cell carcinoma was the dominant histological type. Conclusion: The incidence of cervical carcinoma in young Uygur women tends to decrease due to screening and advocation of late marriage, less reproduction in remote rural areas of Xinjiang.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between osteoporosis and carotid artery disease in the elderly. Methods102 elderly patients were registered for this study and the extraeranial carotid was detected by ultrasound scan. The carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) and the plaque index (PI) were measured and calculated respectively. Meanwhile the patients were divided into two groups according to the results of bone mineral density (BMI) measurement: the osteoporosis group and the non-osteoporosis group. The IMT, PI, carotid stenotic rate and some biochemical parameters were recorded and compared between the two groups. Relationship between these parameters and osteoporosis were evaluated by logistic regression model and partial correlation analysis. ResultsThe differences in serum calcium and the levels of TC,TG,HDL and LDL between osteoporosis group and non-osteoporosis group were statistically significant (all P<0.05), while the level differences in serum phosphorus, fasting blood glucose and uric acid had no statistical significance between the two groups (P>0.05). Moreover, the IMT and PI in osteoporosis group were significantly higher than those in non-osteoporosis group (P<0.05). Among the 102 patients, 48 cases showed the carotid stenotic rate > 50%, including 41 patients in osteoporosis group as well as 7 patients in non-osteoporosis group(P<0.05). Logistic regression showed that age, HDL-C, IMT, PI and carotid stenotic rate>50 % were the correlated factors of osteoporosis and among them, IMT, PI and carotid stenotic rate>50% had higher risks (OR = 17.13,99.33,289.13). There was positive correlation between the carotid artery disease and osteoporosis. ConclusionsThere is a relationship between osteoporosis and carotid artery disease in the elderly. Emphasis should be paid on comprehensive prevention for osteoporosis and carotid artery disease in the elderly.

Objective To explore the clinical value of wave intensity(WI) in assessing left ventricular systolic function of patients with impaired glucose regulation. Methods 72 people were involved in this study, according to their plasma glucose levels, subjects were categorized as normal plasma glucose group (group A),newly categorized impaired fasting glucose group (group B) and pre-diabetes group (group C).Carotid WI examination was performed and analyzed. The parameters included magnitude of the peak during early systole (W1),amplitude of the peak during late systole (W2),interval between R wave of electrocardiogram and W1 (R-W1),interval between W1 and W2 (W1-W2),stiffness parameter (β),pressure strain elasticity modulus(Ep) and arterial compliance(AC).Echocardiographic indices including left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF),left ventricular fraction shortening (LVFS) and the peak velocity of mitral annulus at systolic phase(Sm) were determined in each subject. Results Compared to group A,W1,W2,β,Ep increased significantly while AC decreased in group C(P <0.05).However,this difference did not persist in group B.Compared to group A,LVEF and LVFS were not observed significantly different in group B and group C.Conclusions WI is a hemodynamic method which not only can evaluate left ventricular systolic function of impaired glucose regulation subjects but also be more sensitive than routine echocardiography.
