Objective To evaluate endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) for diagnosis of gastric stromal tumors (GST) by analyzing EUS features of tumors with different invasive capacities. Methods Clinical data of 34 patients with GST were analyzed retrospectively. The tumors were classified according to Fletcher′s GIST biological behavior ranking system and the corresponding EUS features were analyzed. Results The mean maximal diameter of GST in this cohort was 6.7cm.The echo heterogeneity, big tumors size, irregular shape and ulceration were more common in tumors of high risk (P<0.05).Conclusion Tumor size, shape, echo quality and ulceration detected by EUS are useful features for pretreatment evaluation of GST, and can guide the choice of following managements.

Objective To investigate a new technique for small wound repairs on the faces. Methods 71 skin lesions of 42 patients were selected in the study and removed with ring-cutting drills. The new formed small wounds were treated with nature repair technique under the help of bFGF and hyaluronic acid (HA).The bFGF and HA were applied on the wounds 3 times a day until the wounds were healed completely. The early and long-term healing effects were estimated. Results The wounds were all cured with very small scars. The wounds were healed within 15 days for the size of 7 mm × 7 mmand25 days for the size of 15 mm × 15 mm.63 lesion spots from 35 patients were followed up 12 months later.Compared with original skin lesion, the small scar contracted about 50%in size with flat appearance and similar skin color. Conclusions The tissue regeneration and nature repair technique is an ideal surgical procedure for small wounds on the faces with good appearance in quality and aesthetics.

Objective To develop a technique of aesthetic repair procedures for the skin and soft tissue defect after injury. Methods Nineteen cases of patients with skin and soft tissue defects after injury were chosen in this study,in which there were 19 wounds involved.Thirty-seven expanders were inserted into the subcutaneous pockets beside the wounds in the right time and were inflated by a fast expansion model (one time every two days). After completion of inflation, the expanded skin flaps were made and transferred to repair the wounds. Results All the 37 expanders were inflated successfully in duration of 46-63 days.Five expansion areas presented complications that were correctly controlled. All of the wounds were covered and healed well after the expanded skin flap transplantation.Twelve patients were followed up for 6 months after operation. The long-term results showed that the color and texture of the flaps matched the recipient sites well without swelling. The aesthetic appearance of the repaired sites looked satisfactory. Conclusions The rapid tissue expansion is a better option for repairs of some skin and soft tissue defects after injury in certain areas.

Objective To study the postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation on the improvement of pelvic floor electrical physiological indexes and the prevention of female pelvic floor dysfunction in China. Methods A multicenter prospective randomized controlled study was carried out. From October 2011, postpartum women in five provinces were randomly assigned into treatment group and control group. The women in treatment group received electrical stimulation and biofeedback treatment. The women in control group performed pelvic floor muscle exercise at home. When 6 months and 12 months after delivery, comparing two groups of patients with pelvic floor electrical physiological indexes and pelvic organ prolapse quantitation measurements (POP-Q), to evaluate the effect of postpartum pelvic floor rehabilitation on the prevention of pelvic floor dysfunction. Pelvic floor impact questionnaire short form (PFIQ-7) and pelvic organ prolapse/incontinence sexual questionnaire-12 (PISQ-12) were used to evaluate the influence on quality of life and sexual life. Results Until June 2013, 324 women were participated, 124 in control group, 200 in treatment group. According to the baseline results, there was statistical significance in the results of pelvic floor electrical physiological indexes between the treatment and control groups in postpartum 6 months and 12 months; the proportion above level Ⅲ of type Ⅰ and type Ⅱ muscle fibers strength in the treatment group, it was from 41.5% (83/200) and 40.5% (81/200) to 76.3% (145/190) and 79.5% (151/190) in postpartum 6 weeks and postpartum 6 months, increased to 80.6%(58/72) and 80.6%(58/72) in postpartum 12 months, improved significantly comparing with the control group (P<0.01). According to Point Aa, treatment group and control group in the postpartum 6 weeks was (-2.2 ± 0.7) versus (-2.4 ± 0.6) cm, in postpartum 12 months (-2.5 ± 1.1) versus (-2.7 ± 0.6) cm, the improvement in treatment group was statistically significant (P<0.01). And the other points were not significantly different (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in the questionnaires in quality of life and quality of sexual life (P>0.05). Conclusion Neuromuscular electrical stimulation and biofeedback therapy in the early postpartum period could obviously improve pelvic floor electrical physiological indexes, and is beneficial to prevent the pelvic floor dysfunction.

Objective To investigate the effects of high fat diet on stability of mitochondrial DNA/mRNA of frontal cortex tissue in mice. Methods Forty male mice were randomly divided into regular diet group and high fat diet group (n=20).All animals were sacrificed at 4 months (n=10) or 6 months (n=10) after experiment. The serum glucose, lipid and cholesterol levels were evaluated. And mitochondria were isolated in the frontal cortex of mice, and the changes ofmitochondrial DNA/mRNA were tested using PCR and real-time quantitative PCR.Results The serum glucose, lipid and cholesterol levels showed no significant changes in the mice of high fat diet group after feeding for 4 months as compared with those in the mice of regular diet group (P>0.05),while the lipid level in the high fat diet group was increased significantly as compared with that in the regular diet group after feeding for 6 months (P<0.05).The D-Loop level showed no significant changes after feeding for 4 and 6 months between the high fat diet group and the regular diet group (P>0.05).Decreased ATPase6 and increasd Cyt3 and Cytb expression levels in the high fat diet group were noted as compared with those in the regular diet group after feeding for 6 months(P<0.05).Conclusion The stability of mitochondrial DNA decreases in the brain of mice at the persistent feeding with high fat diet for 6 months; especially, pattem of mitochondrial mRNA expression changes obviously at early stage.
