Objective Study on the clinic value of the application of two-dimensional and three-dimensional sonography on observing the fetal facial structure. Methods Applying Voluson 730 three-dimensional probe surface imaging mode and two-dimensional probe to make sonography on 16~48 weeks fetus in 1805 cases, emphasized on observing the fetal facial structure, saving the image information, making three-dimensional reconstruction and comparing the result of post partum and the result after induction of labor. Results In 1805 cases, applying two-dimensional and three-dimensional sonography to observe the facial structure of the fetus of 23~35 weeks, the display rate is 93.1% and 95.1% respectively, and there is no obvious difference between the two modes. The three-dimensional is higher than two-dimensional for the fetus less than 23 weeks, with the display rate 69.6% and 84.8% respectively, and the two-dimensional is a bit higher than three-dimensional for the fetus more than 35 weeks, with the display rate 90.4% and 88.7% respectively. One cleft lip case is excluded. Conclusion As long as mastering the optimum examination time and operation skill, there is no obvious difference between the display rate of two-dimensional and three-dimensional sonography on observing the fetal facial structure, the two modes can be complementary in the work to improve the accuracy of the diagnosis and be favorable for the prepotency.

This study was aimed to compare the function of dendritic cells (DCs) in patients of Y in-Huang syn-drome and Y ang-Huang syndrome from the peripheral blood of HBV related hepatic failure. Jaundice patients of HBV related hepatic failure were divided into two groups, which were the Y ang-Huang syndrome group and Y in-Huang syndrome group. And a healthy control group was also established. The DCs were separated and cultured in vitro from PBMCs in the peripheral blood. Surface molecules such as HLA-DR, CD80, CD86, CD83 and CD1αwere detected by the flow cytometry. And the level of IFN- α and IL-4 in the supernatant of DCs were also de-tected. The expression difference of inflammatory cytokines and immune cells between Y in-Huang and Y ang-Huang syndrome in patients of HBV related hepatic failure were compared. The results showed that compared with healthy people, the expression rate of DCs phenotype such as HLA-DR, CD1α, CD83, CD80, CD86 in patients of HBV related hepatic failure was significantly decreased (P < 0.01); the excreted factor IFN-α had a significant rising (P < 0.01). Compared to Y ang-Huang syndrome group, the expression rate of CD83 and CD86 in the Y in-Huang syndrome group of HBV related hepatic failure patients was significantly reduced (P < 0.01). And the ex-creted factor of IL-4 had a significant rising in Y in-Huang syndrome group (P < 0.01). Compared to the Y in-Huang syndrome group, the excreted factor IFN-α in the Yang-Huang syndrome group had a significant rising (P< 0.01). It was concluded that DCs function of patients with HBV related hepatic failure in both Y in-Huang syn-drome and Y ang-Huang syndrome group showed low immune function. And the immune function of the Y in-Huang syndrome group was lower. There was excessive releasing of inflammatory factors in the Y ang-Huang syn-drome group. And there was enhanced anti-inflammatory cytokine expression in the Y in-Huang group.

Objective The purpose of this study was to examine the clinical features, radiological and arthroscopic characteristics of mucoid degeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and to assess the results of arthroscopic treat?ment. Methods From January 2012 to August 2013, 32 knees (24 females and 8 males with left knee of 14 and 18 of right) were diagnosed with mucoid degeneration of the ACL and underwent arthroscopic treatment, all of whom with a mean age of 58.81±7.97 years (42-74 years). All 32 patients have pain on terminal extension, in which 12 patients have pain on both terminal flexion and extension. Arthroscopic debridement of hypertrophied ACL was performed in conjunction with notchplasty. Biopsy specimens were taken from yellowish degenerative lesions of ACL posterolateral bundles. Manual Lachman and Anterior Drawer tests were taken or measured preoperatively, as well as, visual analogue scale (VAS), range of motion (ROM) of knee, Lysh?lm scores, Western On?tario and McMaster Universities (WOMAC) scores. Results The narrow intercondylar notch show in all 32 radiographs and sagit?tal magnetic resonance image showing with its attachment thickened and ill?defined ACL. All patients received follow?up. The mean follow?up time was 21.16 ± 5.53 months (15-32 months). The mean VAS score decreased significantly from 5.75 ± 1.32 to 1.13±1.36 (t=13.44, P=0.00). Extension deficits decrease gradually from a mean angle of 11.62°±3.52° preoperatively. Almost sta?ble 6 months postoperatively and the mean score was 0.41° ± 1.01° 1 year after operation. The extension deficit improved signifi?cantly. Manual Lachman tests and Anterior Drawer tests were all negative. At the same time, Lysh?lm scores increased from 50.13 ± 11.57 to 91.97 ± 3.04 and WOMAC scores decreased from 35.13 ± 7.88 to 6.25 ± 2.78, which is statistically significant (t=-20.20, P=0.00;t=24.72, P=0.00). Conclusion Mucoid degeneration of the ACL has a typical clinical feature and the MRI find?ings are fairly specific for clinical diagnosis before arthroscopy. Arthroscopic debridement of mucoid hypertrophy of the ACL in conjunction with notchplasty can effectively provide symptomatic improvement without instability.

BACKGROUND:The morphological structure of nanofiber scaffold which fabricated by electrospinning technique is similar to the natural extracelular matrix, which provides a good microenvironment for cel growth and proliferation, and can also enhance cel adhesion, migration, proliferation and differentiation. OBJECTIVE: To observe the biocompatibility of double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold and human periodontal ligament cels. METHODS: Electrospinning technique was used to prepare double layers poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold. The toxicity of different concentrations of (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold extracts to human periodontal ligament cels was evaluated by MTT assay. The double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold was co-cultured with human periodontal ligament cels. The cel adhesive capacity in early stage was determined by MTT assay. The growth of cels on the scaffold was observed by scanning electron microscopy. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: Different concentrations of double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold extracts did not create any toxicity to human periodontal ligament cels. After co-culture for 2, 6, 24 hours, human periodontal ligament cels were poorly adherent onto the double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold. After 7 days of co-culture, human periodontal ligament cels adhered wel on the loose surface of scaffold, maintained the original shape, stretched wel, and interconnected processes were observed; on the dense surface of the scaffold, multi-layer cels were observed. The cels showed fusiform or polygonal appearance and were connected together. These results demonstrate that the double-layer poly(L-lactic acid) electrospun nanofiber scaffold has good biocompatibility with human periodontal ligament cels.

Objective: To evaluate different patterns for left ventricular configuration on ventricular systolic function in patients with primary hypertension by two-dimensional strain (2DS) echocardiography. Methods: Our research included in 2 groups: Control group,n=40 healthy volunteers, Primary hypertension group,n=70, based on left ventricular mass index, the patients were further divided into 2 subgroups as Left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) subgroup, n=32 and Non-left ventricular hypertrophy (NLVH) subgroup,n=38. The peaks of systolic longitude strain (SSL) for left ventricular apical layers of subendocardium, midmyocardium and epicardium were compared among different groups. Results:①In Control group and LVH, NLVH subgroups, SSL in different myocardium layers were kept in gradient features as subendocardium > midmyocardium > epicardium.②Compared with Control group, NLVH and LVH subgroups showed decreased SSL of subendocardium, as in apical four chamber level: (-24.11 ± 3.52) % and (-22.78 ± 4.11) % vs (-27.49 ± 2.95) %, in apical two chamber level: (-22.79 ± 5.20) % and (-21.92 ± 4.88) % vs (-27.95 ± 3.13) %, and in apical long-axis level: (-20.07 ± 3.43)%and (-21.34 ± 3.64%)% vs (-27.24 ± 3.05) %, allP<0.05; while SSL in midmyocardium and epicardium were similar,P>0.05.③Compared with NLVH subgroup, LVH subgroup presented decreased SSL of long-axis, in midmyocardium (-17.77 ± 4.35) % vs (-21.73 ± 3.97) % and in epicardium (-14.25 ± 3.78) % vs (-18.27 ± 2.96) %, allP<0.05. The pearson correlation coefifcient calculated by 2 physicians at 2 different times showed that SSL of subendocardium wasr=0.876, of midmyocardium was r=0.838 and of epicardium was r=0.823, allP<0.05. Conclusion: 2DS may quantitatively evaluate the layered myocardial strain of left ventricle, it provided a non-invasive examination for early diagnosing and estimating the heart involvement with severity in patients of primary hypertension.
