1.Stability of tissue engineering bone in the repair of bone defects:material degradation and bone formation
Chinese Journal of Tissue Engineering Research 2015;(12):1938-1942
BACKGROUND:Scaffold materials are the important part of tissue engineering bone, and the ideal biodegradation speed of the scaffold materials can be in accordance with the regeneration speed of bone formation in order to achieve a long-term stability. OBJECTIVE:To summarize the biodegradability of different types of currently available scaffold materials and its relationship with bone formation. METHODS:The PubMed and CNKI database were searched by the first author using the key words of “tissue engineering bone, composite scaffold, scaffold degradation” in English and Chinese for articles addressing biodegradability of scaffold materials and its relationship with bone formation published during January 1996 and December 2013. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Many scaffold materials under organic, inorganic and organic-inorganic categories have been available and the current studies focus on inorganic materials and organic-inorganic composite materials. In vivo andin vitro studies indicate the different characteristics and relative merits of these scaffold materials. Organic materials have a relatively slow degradation rate while inorganic materials can completely degrade but have an insufficient mechanical property. For organic-inorganic composite materials, further studies are needed.

The article reviewed three aspects of hemiplegic shoulder pain after stroke-introduction, rehabilitation nursing and prospect, in order to provide references for developing effective nursing interventions in the future. We obtained literature from the Cochrane Library, JBI Evidence-based Nursing, PubMed, Wanfang and CNKI Databases between January 2000 and May 2016. According to the principle of three relevant aspects, priority to latest five years and critical appraisal, 39 studies were included. Literature analysis showed that rehabilitation nursing mainly consists of position nursing, supportive devices using, manipulative care and psychological support. Also, it put forward that comprehensive rehabilitation nursing measures have become major means, the combination of Chinese traditional and Western medicine is characteristic therapy in our nation, and nursing practice based on evidence should be set up early to relieve the symptom of hemiplegic shoulder pain and promote quality of life for stroke patients.

Objective To investigate the changes of pulsatile tinnitus on HRCT and MRI CE 3D-SPGR image. Methods CT and MRI images of 1 5 pulsatile tinnitus patients were retrospective analysis. All 1 5 patients underwent temporal bone HRCT and MRI CE 3D-SPGR scan.Abnormal changes on CT and MRI image, which caused the pulsatile tinnitus, were compared. Results In 1 5 patients,9 sides (8 cases)showed abnormal sigmoid sinuses including 4 sides of sigmoid sinuses diverticulum,5 sides sigmoid sinu-ses uncovering,8 sides dominant sigmoid sinuses. The high jugular bulb was showed in 10 sides (8 cases),the thick emissaria mas-toidea in 5 sides (4 cases),bilateral semicircular canal dehiscence in one case, glomus tympanicum tumor in one case and the cochle-ar nerve was constricted by small vessel in one case. Conclusion Cranial base vessel abnormity can be visualized more precisely on MRI CE 3D-SPGR image than that on HRCT.On the contrary, the detection of temporal bone abnormalities is superior on HRCT.

Background:Protein inhibitor of activated STAT 1( PIAS1 )is an important regulator for inflammatory signaling network, which is low expressed in gastric cancer and associated with development of cancer, but its mechanism has not been elucidated. Aims:To investigate the effect of PIAS1 on epithelial-mesenchymal transition( EMT)of gastric cancer under inflammatory microenvironment. Methods:Recombinant adenovirus Ad5/F35-PIAS1 and Ad5/F35-null were constructed and transfected into gastric cancer cell line SGC-7901,mRNA and protein expressions of PIAS1 were detected by RT-PCR and Western blotting, respectively. SGC-7901 cells were divided into IL-6 treatment group,Ad5/F35-PIAS1﹢IL-6 treatment group and Ad5/F35-null﹢IL-6 treatment group. Cell proliferation was measured by MTT method, migration and invasion capacities were assessed by wound healing test and Transwell chamber invasion assay. Protein expressions of E-cadherin,Snail,Twist,Vimentin and P-p38MAPK were assessed by Western blotting. Results:The transfection of Ad5/F35-PIAS1 significantly increased the expressions of PIAS1 mRNA and protein in SGC-7901 cells. Compared with IL-6 treatment group and Ad5/F35-null﹢IL-6 treatment group, capacities of cell proliferation, migration and invasion were significantly decreased(P ﹤0. 01);protein expressions of Snail,Twist,Vimentin and P-p38MAPK were significantly decreased while expression of E-cadherin protein was significantly increased in Ad5/F35-PIAS1 ﹢IL-6 treatment group ( P﹤0. 01). No significant differences in above-mentioned indices were found between IL-6 treatment group and Ad5/F35-null﹢IL-6 treatment group(P﹥0. 05). Conclusions:PIAS1 could inhibit EMT of gastric cancer cells under inflammatory microenvironment, and may play an important role in inhibition of tumor invasion and metastasis.

Objective To investigate the experience of laparoscopic complete mesocolic excision ( CME) for colon cancer. Methods There were102 patients,of which 68 cases with colon cancer were performed laparoscopic CME,34 cases were treated by traditional surgery. The 2 groups were reviewed retrospectively. Results As compared with the traditional group, the operation time, time of first flatus, hospital stay in the CME group increased. The postoperative suction drainage was decreased in CME group. The CME group had less blood loss and more mean lymph nodes clearance than the traditional group. The complication incidences had no significant differences between 2 groups. Conclusion Laparoscopic CME for colon cancer, with the advantages of less tumor spreading and more thoroughly lymph node dissection,is worthy of clinical application.

Objective To establish the enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) for the detection of serum alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) antibody and evaluate its role in its diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis( AIH ). Methods The reactivity between yeast ADH and human anti-ADH serum antibody was tested by Western blot analysis. ELISA was established using yeast ADH. The method was applied in serums of 67 AIH patients,94 primary biliary cirrhosis(PBC) patients, 199 chronic hepatitis B (CHB) patients, 132 chronic hepatitis(CHC) patients, 24 alcohol hepatitis disease(ALD) patients, 99 connective tissue disease(CTD) patients and 31 healthy individuals. The positive rate of ADH antibody in the patients and healthy individuals was measured. The χ2 test was used to compare the positive rates. Results The ELISA method for detecting human anti-ADH serum antibody was established successfully and the optimum reaction conditions were defined. Western blot showed that yeast ADH has cross reactivity with human anti-ADH antibody. The positive rate of anti-ADH antibody in the AIH group [59. 7% ,40/67 ] was higher than that in the normal control group(0,χ2 = 31. 271 ,P <0. 05), PBC group (6. 4% ,χ2 =54. 492,P <0. 05), CHB group( 14. 1% ,χ2 =54. 848,P <0. 05) ,CHC group(21.2% ,χ2 = 29.269,P<0.05), ALl) group ( 25. 0% ,χ2 =8.512,P <0.05)and CTD group ( 43. 4% ,χ2 =4.229, P <0. 05). Conclusions Compared with the PBC, CHB, CHC, ALD and CTD group, the anti-ADH antibody positive rate in the serums of AIH was significantly increased. The antibody may be helpful to the diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis.
