1.Studies on tissue culture and rapid propagation technique of Iphigenia indica

Object To establish a tissue culture and rapid propagation system for the medicinal plant Iphigenia indica Kunth. Methods Clusters of seedlings and protocorms and induction were studied on MS media with different parts of the plant, such as corms, stems, leaves and root tips as explants. Results The proper media for protocorm inducing, propagation and rooting were found in this paper, rapid propagation system of I. indica was established and the plant could put in large scale production. Conclusion Sprout can be successfully induced from corm and stem on MS media. MS+6-BA 2 mg/L+NAA 0.5 mg/L can induce both sprout and protocorm, and fit for large scale production. 1/2 MS+IBA 0.5 mg/L+NAA 0.2 mg/L is good for rooting.

Cell adhesion molecules (CAMs) are involved in glycoproteins expressed on cell surfaces which play an essential role in clinical disorders. At present, there are several groups of anti inflammatory drugs interfere with the expression of CAMs either directly or indirectly. This paper reviews the study of recent finding pharmacological agents associated with CAMs.

Traditionally,the nellrorl of central nervous system has been regarded as lack of regeneration capability.Recent studies have found that cerebral ischemia may activate neurogenesis in brains of adult mammals,and bring new hope for neural repair after ischemic brain injury.It is very necessary to fully understand the site of neurogenesis,process and neurogenesis after cerebral ischemia and its regulation mechanisms in adult mammals.
4.The reference range of copper,iron,zinc,calcium and magnesium in peripheral blood of preschool children in Suzhou

Objective Accodring to the guideline of Reference Intervals in the Clinical Laboratory(ISO15189) ,to establish the reference range of Cu ,Fe ,Zn ,Ca and Mg in the peripheral blood of preschool children in Suzhou .Methods Using atomic absorp-tion spectrometry to detect the levels of Cu ,Fe ,Zn ,Ca and Mg in peripheral blood of 3 992 Kindergarden children in Suzhou from Apr to May 2014 ,according the age ,the children were divided into three groups ,1 511 cases in 3 to 4 years old group including 750 boys ,761 girls ,1 169 cases in 4 to 5 years old group including 570 boys ,599 girls ,1 312 cases in 5 to 6 years old group inclu-ding 604 boys 708 girls .According to NCCLS's guideline C28 -A2 to define the reference range .Results The concentration of copper ,iron ,zinc ,calcium ,magnesium had no significant differences in different gender and age groups(P>0 .05) ,the reference ranges in peripheral blood of the preschool children in Suzhou were Cu 11 .47-32 .53 umol/L ,Fe 6 .86-9 .80 mmol/L ,Zn 64 .46-133 .02 umol/L ,Ca 1 .47-2 .09 mmol/L ,Mg 1 .21 -1 .75 mmol/L .Conclusion There are regional difference on the levels of Cu ,Fe ,Zn ,Ca ,Mg in children's peripheral blood ,each region should to establish the local reference range follow the guideline .
5.The expression and clinical significance of epidermal growth factor receptor and cyclooxygenase-2 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma

Objective To detect the expression of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2 ) in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and to investigate their clinical significance.Methods Resected tissue of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (observation group)and adjacent normal laryngeal mucosa ( control group) from 54 patients were collectod.Accooding to histological differentiation degreo,cervical lymph node metastasis,clinical TNM staging,EGFR and COX-2 were compared.Results The expression rate of EGFR in observation group [63.0% (34/54)] was higher than that in control group [42.6% (23/54)] (P < 0.05 ).And COX-2 in observation group [68.5%(37/54)] was higher than that in control group [35.2% (19/54)] (P <0.01).The expression of EGFR and COX-2 in observation group (0.584 ±0.136,0.561 ±0.134) were significantly higher than those in control group (0.161 ±0.045,0.114 ±0.027),respectively (P <0.01).The expression of EGFR and COX-2 had significant difference among histological differentiation degree,with or without cervical lymph node metastasis,different clinical TNM staging (P < 0.05 or < 0.01 ).Correlation analysis showed that the expression of EGFR and COX-2 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma had positive correlation (r =0.602,P < 0.01 ).Conclusions The expression of EGFR and COX-2 have some contribution to the incidence and development of laryngeal squamots cell carcinoma.They can be used for the different diagnosis of benign and malignant carcinoma,clinical staging and prognosis estimating.They have significant clinical values.

10.Chemical approaches for trapping protein thiols and their oxidative modification.

Redox signal transduction, especially the oxidative modification of proein thiols, correlates with many diseases and becomes an expanding research area. However, there was rare method for quick and specific detection of protein thiols and their oxidative modification in living cells. In this article, we review the current chemical strategies for the detection and quantification of protein thiols and related cysteine oxidation. We also look into the future of the development of fluorescent probes for protein thiols and their potential application in the research of reactive cysteine proteomes and early detection of redox-related diseases.
