[Objective]To evaluate outcome of the treatment of unstable distal radius fractures in the elderly patient using a volar T-shape plate.[Method]From January 2001 to April 2003,42 cases with unstable distal radius fractures older than 60 years(range 60～75 years;mean age 65.1 years) were treated with a T-shape plate fixation.The fractures were classified according to the AO classification of distal radius fracture: 4 A2,7 A3,5 B1,3 B3,9 C l,11 C2,3 C3.Artificial bone graft substitutes were used in 28 cases with severe cortex destruction and insufficient buttress.[Result]All patients were followed up(mean 18.2months,range 12～24months).Final volar tilt was averaged 3.66? and radial tilt 20.1?,and radial shortening averaged 1.59 mm in 6 cases.Step-off or gap of the articular surface was found in 6 cases(mean

OBJECTIVE:To establish a HPLC method for the simultaneously determination of three components in Bikeling nasal spray. METHODS: The column we used was Hypersil ODS and the mobile phase was 0.1%mtriethylamine(adjust pH3.2 with phosphate acid)-acetonitrile (75∶25). The detective wavelength was 256nm and the sample size was 10?L. RESULTS: The linear rangs of ofloxacin, ephedrine hydrochloride and dexamethasone sodium phosphate were 32～320?g?mL-1(r=0.999 9),64～640?g?mL-1(r=1.000 0) and 4～40?g?mL-1(r=1.000 0)respectively, and the average recoveries were 100.05%(RSD=0.32%), 100.17%(RSD=0.48%) and 99.85%(RSD=1.67%),respectively. CONCLUSION: The method was simple and accurate and can be used for the quality control of Bikeling nasal spray

We have researched the viscoelastic properties of the cancellous bones of the os calcaneus, os lunatum and os capitalum. The compressing stress relaxation experiment and the creep experiment in the vertical, horizontal and 45 degree directions on the os calcaneus were performed. The data and curve of the compressing stress relaxation and creep were obtained. By masing regression analysis we worked out the compressing reduced stress relaxation and creep functions and curves. The results show that the quantities of compressing stress relaxation and creep of the calcaneus in the vertical direction are larger than those in the other two directions. The initial quantities of creep of the os capitalum are larger than those of the os lunatum, and there are no significant different between the quantities of stress relaxation of the cancellous bones of the os lunatum and os capitalum.

Objective To evaluate the biomechanical effects of using a new injectable calcium phosphate cement to consolidate the fixation of osteoporotic intertrochanteric fracture.Method Five matchod pairs of human cadaver femora were used to produce the model of intertrochanteric fracture.All fractures were fixed with dynamic hip screws(DHS),and divided into two groups.In the CPC consolidation group of each pair,CPC was used to grout the hip screw and to fill the posteromedial defect.All femora were subjected to biomechanical test.Results Under the loading of 500 N,in the CPC consolidation group,the mean axial stiffness is(691.93±18.90)N/mm and the horizontal shear stiffness is(5553.84±27.47)N/mm.The mean lateral and medial strength is(5.15±0.35)MPa and(4.13±0.24)MPa.The torsion stiffness was 0.41 and the ultimate loading is(3580±286)N.In the control group,the mean axiak stiffness is(453.45±19.75)N/mm,the horizontal shear stiffness is(3848.87±22.63)N/mm,the mean lateral and medial strength is(3.12±0.37)MPa and(1.80±0.21)MPa,and,the torsion stiffness is 0.35 and the ultimate loading is(2512±189)N.Consolidation fixation with CPC increased each of the biomechanical efficiency(P＜0.05).Conclusions CPC consolidation of osteoprotic femoral head and the medial defect of intertrochanteric fracture can significantly improve the overall stability and decrease the rate of postoperative complication.

[Summary] To explore the therapeutic effect of fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) for severe psoriasis. A patient, male, 36 years old, diagnosed as severe plaque psoriasis for 10 years and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) for 15 years, was administrated twice FMT via both upper endoscopy and colonoscopy with a 5‐week interval. The following items were used to evaluate responses: body surface area (BSA), psoriasis area and severity index (PASI), dermatology life quality index (DLQI), histological examination, intestinal symptoms, adverse reactions and serum level of tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐α. After second FMT treatment for 5 weeks, aforementioned items were improved greatly compared with those before treatment. Moreover, IBS was completely relieved and no adverse reactions were observed during the treatment and follow‐up. In conclusion, FMT could be a novel therapy for psoriasis. Further clinical trials are needed to provide solid evidences.

Purpose: Osteosarcoma (OS) universally exhibits heterogeneity and cisplatin (CDDP) resistance. Although the Wee1/CDC2 and nuclear factor кB (NF-κB) pathways were reported to show abnormal activation in some tumor cells with CDDP resistance, whether there is any concrete connection is currently unclear. We explored it in human OS cells. Materials and Methods: Multiple OS cell lines were exposed to a Wee1 inhibitor (AZD1775) and CDDP to assess the half-maximal inhibitory concentration values. Western blot, coimmunoprecipitation, confocal immunofluorescence, cell cycle, and Cell Counting Kit-8assays were performed to explore the connection between the Wee1/CDC2 and NF-κB pathways and their subsequent physiological contribution to CDDP resistance. Finally, CDDP-resistant PDX-OS xenograft models were established to confirm that AZD1775 restores the antitumor effects of CDDP. Results: A sensitivity hierarchy of OS cells to CDDP and AZD1775 exists. In the highly CDDP-tolerant cell lines, Wee1 and RelA were physically crosslinked, which resulted in increased abundance of phosphorylated CDC2 (Y15) and RelA (S536) and consequent modulation of cell cycle progression, survival, and proliferation. Wee1 inhibition restored the effects of CDDP on these processes in CDDP-resistant OS cells. In addition, animal experiments with CDDP-resistant PDX-OS cells showed that AZD1775 combined with CDDP not only restored CDDP efficacy but also amplified AZD1775 in inhibiting tumor growth and prolonged the median survival of the mice. Conclusion Simultaneous enrichment of molecules in the Wee1/CDC2 and NF-κB pathways and their consequent coactivation is a new molecular mechanism of CDDP resistance in OS cells. OS with this molecular signature may respond well to Wee1 inhibition as an alternative treatment strategy.
