Objective To discuss the effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant.Method Six cases of deaf children implanted Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant during the March,2004 to September,2005 were analyzed retrospectively.Result All cases were implanted successfully without complication. All deaf children acquired hearing of some degree when implant devices were operated in one month later. Also All cases were getting their speech intelligibility improved by hearing and speech rehabilitation. Conclusion The effectiveness of Austrian Combi40+Cochlear Implant is related to the age of deaf children with cochlear implant. The early deaf children get cochlear implant and hearing and speech rehabilitation, the better they have speech intelligibility.

OBJECTIVE To investigate the influence of noise on the hearing of the workers with noise exposureand explore the relationship between the hearing damage and the length of noise exposure.METHODS 120 workers who exposed to noise were recruited. Their physical examination including audiometry was done in our hospital from year 2012 to 2014. Hearing loss and the length of noise exposure were detected in all subjects after 2-year's follow-up.The rate of hearing loss between workers with different length of noise exposure was analyzed statistically. RESULTS There were 22 workers who were exposed to noise for 2 years, 43 workers for 3-5 years and 55 workers for 6-10 years. After 2-year's follow up, there were significant differences between the rate of hearing loss and the length of noise exposure at 3,4 and 6 kHz. And the rate of hearing loss at different sound frequency were significantly different statistically. CONCLUSION The relevance ratio of hearing loss in long noise-exposed group was significantly higher than short groups. The hearing damages at 4 KHz were more frequent than other sound frequency.

Objective To explore the relationship between plasma 5-HT and patients with sudden deafness and the pathogenesis in sudden deafness. Methods 46 inpatients with sudden deafness as patient group, and 34 healthy as control group. They were determined the plasma 5-HT concentration by immunoradiometric assay, then statistics analysis, and investigated negative life events in one week before admission. Results There is significant difference in 5-HT concentration between two groups. In patient group,35 cases(76%) had anxiety, depression emotion and sleep disorder before attack. Conclusions The high level of the plasma 5-HT concentration is probably one of the mechanisms in the patients of sudden deafness.Whether there is relationship between plasma 5-HT concentration and the degree and prognosis of sudden deafness needs to be further studied.
