2.Research update on the eosinophils and allergic disease.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2012;26(11):525-528
The incidence of allergic diseases (asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis and food allergy) increased gradually over recent decades, and an increasing number of patients are suffering from allergic diseases, thus the rise in allergic disease incidence warrants concern. Researchers have already had a deeper understanding of the pathogenesis of allergic diseases. Mounting evidence has shown that the eosinophils play an important role in the pathogenesis of allergic diseases. Many systematic studies have been conducted about eosinophils, therefore, this review will provide a summary on recent progress in eosinophils and allergic diseases.

3.Allergic rhinitis nasal mucosa exposured to allergen histopathologic and the microvascular remodeling of SD rats
Chinese Archives of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery 2006;0(01):-
OBJECTIVE To study the histopathologic and microvascular changes in allergic rhinitis nasal mucosa of SD rats following persistent exposure to allergen. METHODS A total of 60 heathy SD rats were divided into two groups randomly: the persistence group(n=30)and the control group(n=30). The animals of the persistence group were exposed to allergen persistently after modeling of 7 weeks with OVA provocation in nasal mucosa for 16 weeks. At 8, 12, 16 weeks after OVA provocation each group were sacrificed at each time point. The animals of control group were not provocated and were sacrificed at the same time point. Their nasal mucosa of 5 animals from each group were observed under optical microscope and the other 5 animals were used to made microvascular corrosion casts to observe microvascular changes under scanning electron microscope. RESULTS In the persistence group, the early histopathological transformation was acute inflammatory reaction, nasal mucosa tissues congestion, partial nasal mucosa shedding. The inflammation cells infiltrated into the submucosa. The acute inflammatory reaction declined as the time went by. Then the nasal mucosa repaired step by step. Damaged epithelium repaired in a certain extent with fibration, but the restoration result of epithelial are untidiness, goblet cell volume is increased and metaplasia submucosal blood vessels increased, Through scanning electron microscope, we found the capillary of nasal mucosa expanded and congested, the vascular endothelial cell swelled. As time went by, the capillary hyperplasia and the microvascular endothelial cell analosis even microvascular wall anomalism. CONCLUSION Inflammatory injury at early stage after allergen provocation, the mucosa hyperblastosis and friber restoration in mucosa tissue and microvascular networks reconstitution at later stage form a histopathological basis of dysfunction after persistent exposure to allergen.
4.Effects of intranasal corticosteroids on radiated nasal mucosa of guinea pig
Chinese Journal of Radiological Medicine and Protection 2009;29(1):30-34
Objective To investigate a mechanism protected radiation-induce injure for radiated guinea pigs'nasal mucosa treated with intranasal corticosteroids (fluticasone nasal cavity spray). Methods 50 health guinea pigs were divided into 2 groups randomly: the irradiated group (control group) with 25 guinea pigs and the administration group after irradiation (test group)with 25 guinea pigs. The nasal part of all guinea pigs were performed irradiation by the 6 MV X-ray with single 5 Gy, one time each week for three weeks. The guinea pigs of test group received intranasai eorticosteroids with one time every day and one spray each side nasal cavity on the second day after three weeks irradiation. Five guinea pigs in each group were saeritieed randomly at 1 week, 1 month, 2 months, 3 months and 4 months after irradiation, and the histopathologie changes were observed under optical microscope and electron microscope. At the same time, blood were drawn from the heart and the concentration of IL-1, IL-6 and TNF-α in serum were measured by ELISA. Results The early nasal mucosa inllammatory reaction of the test group was less than the control group. The coverage rate of cilia of the test group was much than that of the control group (72.9% vs 50.2%) at four months after irradiation. The atrophy of submucosal glandular organ was lessened and they displayed some extent secretory function. The concentration of IL-1 in serum was increased very much in the test group compared with the control group after irradiation and kept higher level in the first two months. After two months, it began to decrease;on four months, it still kept equivalency level with the control group. The concentration of IL-6 and TNF-α in serum were reduced all the while. Conclusions The intranasal eortieosteroids with fluticasene nasal cavity spray can reduce radiation-induced injury of guinea pigs' nasal mucosa. The concentration change of IL-I, IL-6 and TNF-α in serum may be one of mechanism protected radiation-induce injure of guinea pigs' nasal mueosa.
5.Research in operation room nurses' job stress and mental health status
Chinese Journal of Practical Nursing 2010;26(32):17-19
Objective To understand the operation room nurses' job stress and mental health status and discuss the countermeasures to ease pressure. Methods 82 patients were selected from five hospitals from April to August 2010. We used symptom checklist, self-rating anxiety scale, self-rating depression scale and nurse' job stress scale to carry out the questionnaire survey. Results The pressure of operation room nurses were related with their mental health status. Conclusions Some problems existed in mental health and work stress in operation room nurses, which should be highly valued by operation room nursing managers.
6.Research progress on role of chemokine receptor CCR3 signaling in allergic airway diseases.
Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2012;26(23):1099-1101
Allergic airway diseases have been identified as chronic inflammatory diseases of respiratory membranes, characterized by infiltration of many inflammatory cells, especially eosinophils. The expression of CCR3 is abundant on the cell surface of eosinophils. Increased accumulation of CCR3-driven inflammatory cells is thought to favor the development of allergy. In this review, we survey the properties of CCR3 and its ligands and highlight the roles of CCR3 signaling in allergic airway diseases.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(5):476-477
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) is a small round cell malignancies, normally confined to the chest wall and soft tissues of children and young adults, and reports of this tumor existing in nasal cavity are scarce. We herein present a case of nasal PNET. A 35-year-old male patient presented with a chief complaint of stuffy nose was diagnosed with a primary nasal pPNET by the clinical, microscopic, immunohistochemical features. Since these tumors are highly aggressive and patient prognosis is typically very poor, early diagnosis, immediate surgical resection and re-resection if possible, early radiotherapy and chemotherapy and close follow-up are required. We also review literatures on pPNET.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2015;29(14):1315-1318
Otitis media with effusion (OME), a kind of inflammatory disease of the middle ear, is characterized by the retention of middle ear effusions and hearing loss. There are many factors involved in the development of OME including bacterial infection, formation of bacterial biofilms, eustachian tube dysfunction, adenoid hypertrophy, immune system disorders. Recently, some studies showed that gastroesophageal reflux has correlation with OME.

Journal of Clinical Otorhinolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery 2009;(14):649-651,655
Objective:To investigate the effects of fluticasone on expression of basic fibroblast growth factor and mRNA in allergic rhinitis rats. Method:Ninety Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into three groups(n = 30 for each) , including AR group, control group and fluticasone treatment group. In this experiment , the rat model of AR was established by the ovalbumin challenge methods. The expression of the protein of basic fibroblast growth factor and mRNA were detected with immunohistochemistry methods and in RT-PCR methods. Result:The protein and mRNA expression of basic fibroblast growth factor in nasal tissue was significantly higher in the AR group than that in control group(P<0.01),and it was much lower in the treatment group than that in the AR group(P<0.01) ibut still higher than that in the control group(P<0.01). The epithelial cell was the chief expression cell. Conclusion:The basic fibroblast growth factor participates in the pathogenesis of AR ,and inhaled fluticasone can significantly inhabit the expression of the protein and mRNA of basic fibroblast growth factor in the chronic stage of AR,thus preventing the airway remodeling.
