Objective:To investigate the effects of estrogen on sarcoplasmic reticulum (SR) Ca2+-ATPase activity and gene expression in female rats genioglossal muscle (GG), and explore the possible molecular biology mechanism.Methods:30 male rats were randomly divided into 3 groups:Control group, ovariectomy(OVX)group, ovariectomized animals receiving estradiol replacement (OVX+E2) group. The rats were sacrificed 6 weeks after surgery, and the genioglossus was taken out for analysis. Ca2+-ATPase activity was measured by detecting inorganic phosphorus ion, and SR Ca2+-ATPase (SERCA) mRNA level was observed using fluorescence quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (FQ RT-PCR) method. Results:Compared to the control group, SR Ca2+-ATPase activity of OVX group remarkably reduced(P0.05).Conclusion:Serum level of estrogen of adult female rats may influence the function of genioglossal muscle by influencing SR Ca2+-ATPase activity and the SERCA mRNA expression.

Objective To investigate the prevalence of elevated serum alanine aminotransferase ( ALT) and ALT-related dysmetabolism and risk factors. Methods A total of 12 789 adult participated, with no hepatitis B virus infection or alcohol over-intake, received health check-up, including blood pressure measurement, blood glucose and lipid profile test, liver function evaluation and ultrasonography. The subjects were then assigned into two groups according to the serum level of ALT. Metabolic composition was compared between the two groups. Results The prevalence of elevated ALT activity was 8.69%. The waist circumstance, body mass index (BMI) ,systolic blood pressure (SBP) ,diastolic blood pressure (DBP) ,total cholesterol (TC) ,triglyceride (TG) , low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) , urine acid (UA) , fasting blood glucose (FBG) ,HbAlc,total bilirubin (TBIL) ,-y-glutamyltransferase (GGT) ,alkaline phos-phatase ( ALP) of the elevated ALT group were significantly higher than those of the normal ALT group. However, age and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ( HDL-C) in the elevated ALT group were lower than those in the normal ALT group ( P < 0. 05 ) . The occurrence of overweight, obesity, hyperlipidemia, impaired fasting glucose, diabetes, increased DBP, hyperuricacidemia and fatty liver in the elevated serum ALT group was significantly more than that in the normal ALT group ( P < 0. 05 ) . Multiple logistic regression analysis demonstrated that fatty liver, DBP, BMI.TC, HbAlc were risk factors of elevated serum ALT. Conclusion Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, lipid metabolic disorders and obesity may be the main risk factors of elevated ALT.

The therapeutic approaches for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)patients with solitary bone metastases include surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and so on.Recently, molecular targeted therapy such as the Denosumab has become a new option.Though there are so many options, the outcomes of the NSCLC with bone metastases are not so good. But for those with solitary bone metastases, radical treatment is necessary to improve the survival time and prognosis.

Journal of Audiology and Speech Pathology 2016;24(5):443-447
Objective To study the effects of endolymphatic sac decompression and on semicircular canal plugging in treating intractable Meniere's disease. Methods A total of 14 cases of intractable Meniere's disease were included in this study. The age was from 33~67 years old and the history was from 1 to 40 years. The hearing level of bone was from 35 to 65 dB for the speech frequencies. All cases received the treatments according to the pre-op-erative design. The endolymphatic sac was decompressed and the three semicircular canal bones were drilled to cre-ate a fenestra followed by soft tissue plugging into the canal. The vertigo, hearing level and tinnitus were included in the following up.Results All cases had no facial palsy,no cerebrospinal leak, and no vertical after surgery. In the period of 3 to 18 months following up,the attack of Meniere's disease was completely controlled for 13 cases excep-tion of one lost case. For five cases, the hearing level descended 10 to 15 dB compared to pre-operation.Conclusion Although the endolymphatic sac decompression can relieve endolymphatic pressure, this may not adequately pro-tect the hearing caused by the semicircular canal plugging. The surgical technique is reliable and safe;however fur-ther clinical data should be gathered.

Objective To explore the protective effect of resveratrol against oxidative damage to cultivated fibroblasts irradiated with UVB. Methods Fibroblasts from normal human skin cultured in vitro were divided into 5 groups (a normal control group, a group irradiated with UVB, a group treated with resveratrol before UVB irradiation, and a group treated after irradiation). A monolayer of fibroblasts was irradiated with UVB at 60 mJ/cm2. The vitality of the cells was measured using the methylthiazol tetrazolium (MTT) method. The activity of superoxide dis-mutase (SOD) and malondialdehyde (MDA) content were determined using enzyme biochemistry. Results Resveratrol over 100 μM inhibited the proliferation of fibroblasts. Resveratrol under 100 μM improved the proliferation of cells. The optimal concentration was 50 μM. UVB irradiation decreased the vitality of the cells and SOD activity, and it significantly enhanced MDA content. Conclusions Resveratrol treatment before or after UVB irradiation elevates the survival rate of fibroblasts, enhances the activity of SOD, and decreases MDA content. Resveratrol at low concentration could improve the proliferation of fibroblasts, and at high concentration could inhibit their proliferation. Res-veratol at 50 μM relieves the inhibited proliferation of fibroblasts damaged by UVB irradiation.

Objective To explore dyslipidemia in the people in the part of enterprises in Beijing. Methods Total cholesterol, triglyceride, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, etc., in blood were detected in the physical examination of 12908 subjects in enterprises in Beijing. Dyslipidemia was analysed for the distribution of gender and the trend of age. Results The findings showed that the occurrence of hypercholesteremia is 21.3% with 20.3% for male vs 23.0% for female; hypertriacylglycerolemia is 30.4% with 36.19% for male vs 20.49% for female; and low level of high-density lipoprotein is 6.5% with 9.4% for male vs 1.6% for female. The trend of dyslipidemia increased with age. The subjects with coronary artery disease and related high risk diseases, who need medicine care, occupied 80.6% of the subjects with dyslipidemia. Conclusion Dyslipidemia increases with age and so regular detection of lipid is necessary especially for the subjects with coronary artery disease and related high risk diseases.
