2.Application of St George's respiratory questionaire in evaluating the life quality of community patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(08):-
Objective To study the value of St George's respiratory questionaire(SGRQ)in evaluating the life quality of community patients with COPD.Methods The SGRQ score,PEF% were collected from 35 patient with COPD.Paired t test was performed to evaluate the sensitivity of SGRQ to changes of disease severity.Correla- tion coefficients were calculated to evaluate the validity. Results Three parts of the SGRQ score and the total score were significantly correlated with the changes of SGRQ(P<0.001),SGRQ was more sensitive than PEF in evalu- ating the changes of disease severity. The three part of the scale and the total scale were significantly correlated with PEF%.Conclusion SGRQ is a valid, sensitive and feasible method in measuring the quality of life in community patients with COPD.

Objective:To analyze the morphological characteristics of damaged Hero642 Ni-Ti dental files, and explain the relationship between deformation and fracture.Methods:71 discarded files were observed under naked eyes and stereomicroscope. 5 of which were observed under S360 scanning electronic microscope (SEM), and typical photos were taken for analysis. Results:The damage of Hero642 Ni-Ti dental files was characterized by fracture, tightened or loosened spiral and some kind of deformation detected at more than 35 times magnification. Under SEM, the dimple pattern was represented in the fracture surface of the files. Conclusion:Most Hero642 Ni-Ti files fractured within 4 mm from the tip which belongs to the pattern of ductile fracture.

Tumor invasion model is an important tool to study the mechanisms of tumor mvasion and to evaluate prevention and treatment of cancer.Compared to the in vitro model,in vivo model can simulate the tumor microenvironment and tumor mvasion biological behaviour better.Morphological observation and invasion-related protein detection can be used to evaluate the animal invasion model, which are widely used in basic and clinical research now.

0.05). The NAA/Cr and NAA/Cho in the Group A were significantly higher than those in the Group B (t=4.235, P=0.011; t=2.832, P=0.031), and the Cho/Cr in the Group A was significantly lower than that in the Group B (t=-2.323, P=0.042). Conclusions ~1H magnetic resonance spectroscopy can improve the diagnostic accuracy of glioma.

Objective To explore the effect of preventing adhesion after the orbital blowout fracture on orbit tissue by amniotic membrane. Design Experimental study. Participants Twenty-six New Zealand rabbits. Methods Establishing rabbit orbital blowout fracture model, the right orbit of twenty rabbits was repaired by hydroxyapatite (HA) parceled of amniotic membrane, and left orbit was only repaired by HA, the orbits of the other six rabbits weren't repaired. Then we got the tissue around bone after one week and one month, and compared the difference of three groups. Main Outcome Measures Inflammatory response of tissue around bone was ana- lyzed by HE, picric acid Sirius Scarlet dying, TGF-?immunohistoehemical observation. Results One week after operation, HE and im- munohistochemistry showed that the difference was not significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group (P=0.351, P=0.413), and difference is significant between blank group and experimental group (P=0.012, P=0.041). One month after operation, HE and immunohistoehemistry showed that the difference was significant in inflammatory response between experimental group and control group(P=0.037, P=0.048), and there is no significant difference between experimental group and blank group(P=0.285, P=0.472). Conclusion It has an important role of anti-inflammatory and anti-adhesion in the chronic stage of inflammatory after orbital blowout fracture repaired by man-made plates of amniotie membrane.

Objective To evaluate the implication of LEEP cervical conization on the outcome of subse-quent pregnancy. Methods The study group comprised 85 women who had a LEEP in Renmin Hoapital of Wuhan University during Jan. 2005 and Jan. 2007 ,and then had a subaequent pregnancy. 109 control women were extracted from outpatient clinic who received antenatal care in the same period with no history of cervical surgery, matching by age, health condition and perinatal stage. The pregnancy outcome of two groups were analyzed. Results Women who had a LEEP were more likely to give preterm delivery than controla (9.88% va 3.70%). But there waa no differ-ence in preterm delivery(χ2=2.97, P>0.05). So were low birth weight infants, preterm premature rupture of mem-branes (pPROM) or cesarean section. On a further study, we found that the time interval between cervical conization and subsequent pregnancy was associated with risk of preterm birth. The shorter time interval, especially shorter than 6 months, the higher risk of preterm birth. Conclusions LEEP cervical conization is not associated with an in-creased risk of preterm delivery, low birth weight infants, pPROM or cesarean section. LEEP conization is a more sol-id choice for women who want to preserve reproductive function. But it would be better for them to have pregnancy plan six months later.

Objective To study the influence of unilateral and bilateral amplification on the effect of hearing aid evaluation .Methods Using the subjective method that International Outcome Inventory for Hearing Aids (IOI-HA) and objective method that medium acoustic intensity (65 dB SPL) word recognition score(WRS) to evaluate the effect of unilateral and bilateral hearing aid fitting of middle -aged severe sensorneural hearing loss .Results Hearing aid were used for severe sensorneural hearing loss and the improvement of monosyllables and sentences in quiet and noise test of unilateral were 35 .73% ,43 .15% ,43 .23% ;the improvement of monosyllables and sentences in quiet and noise test of bilateral were 37 .90% ,51 .33% ,54 .86% .The WRS of bilateral was higher than unilater-al .The score of IOI-HA was 15~37 ,meaning patients with severe sensorneural hearing loss were satisfied with hearing aid ,and there was no statistical significance between unilateral and bilateral fitting .Conclusion The bilat-eral hearing aid fitting was better than unilateral .Binaural hearing loss are recommended to fit bilaleral hearing aids .

Extracellular single-unit discharge recording technique was used to examine the effects of Ginkgolide B (BN52021) on the discharges of neurons in CAI area of hippocampal slices and to elucidate the mechanisms involved. The results showed that:(1) In response to the application of ginkgolide B (0.1,1,10 βμmol/L; n =43) into the perfusate for 2 rain, the spontaneous discharge rates (SDR) of 42/43 (97.67%) neurons were significantly decreased in a dose-dependent manner; (2) Pretreatment with L-glutamate (L-Glu,0.2mmol/L) led to a marked increase in the SDR of all 10 (100%) neurons in an epileptiform pattern. The increased discharges were suppressed significantly after ginkgolide B (1 μmol/L) was applied into the perfusate for 2 rain; (3) In 8 neurons, perfusion of the selective L-type calcium channel agonist,Bay K 8644 (0.1 μmol/L),induced a significant increase in the discharge rate of 8/8 (100%) neurons.Ginkgolide B (1 μmoL/L) applied into the perfusate inhibited the discharges of 7/8 (87.5%) slices; (4) In 8 neurons, the broad potassium channels blocker, tetraethylammonium (TEA,1 mmol/L) completely blocked the inhibitory effect of ginkgolide B (1 μmol/L).These results suggest that ginkgolide B can inhibit the electrical activity of CAI neurons. The inhibitory effect may be related to the blockade of L-type voltage-activated calcium channel and may be concerned with delayed rectifier potassium channel (KDR),which indicated that ginkgolide B play a protective role on the central neurons.
