Objective To explore the effect of electromyogram-triggered neuromusclar stimulation (ETNS) on motor function of upper limbs of stroke patients. Methods 45 stroke patients from July, 2011 to December, 2012 in China Rehabilitation Research Center were randomly divided into control group (n=15), neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) group (n=15) and ETNS group (n=15). 3 groups were given routine medication and rehabilitation treatment. They were assessed with the largest surface electromyography (sEMG), Simple Test for Evaluating Hand Function (STEF), and modified Barthel Index before and after treatment. Results After treatment, the range of sEMG of extension carpi radialis and STEF improved in three groups (P<0.05). NMES group and ETNS group were better than the control group (P<0.05), and ETNS group was better than NMES group (P<0.05). The scores of modified Barthel Index rose (P<0.05), NMES group and ETNS group were better than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Both NMES and ETNS can improve the motor recovery of upper limbs after stroke, and ETNS is more effective.

Objective To explore the reasons why patients with Keshan disesse complicated with hypertension and their interaction in Fuyu County, Heilongjiang Province. Methods Fifty-three patients with Keshan disease were investigated in January, April and July in 2007. Blood pressure was measured and the risk factors of hypertension were investigated. According to the diagnostic criteria of hypertension, patients were divided into hypertension group and non-hypertension group, and then the risk factors of hypertension, as well as the course of Keshan disease, were compared between the two groups. The risk factors include age, gender, family history of hypertension, salt intake in diet, smoking, drinking and obesity. Results The age of hypertension group[(57.83±8.89)years] was significantly higher than that of non-hypertension group [(51.53 ± 9.43)years, t = 2.3630, P < 0.05) ;while the course of Keshan disease in non-hypertension group [(31.63 ± 8.66)years] was notably longer than that in hypertension group [(25.08±11.41)years, t = 2.0224, P < 0.05] ;No statistically significant difference in gender, family history of hypertension, salt intake in diet, smoking, drinking and obesity was observed between the two groups(χ2 = 0.0072,0.1779,0.0029,0.1555,0.119,0.7679, all P > 0.05). Conclusions Age might be an important factor in patients with Keshan disease accompanied by hypertension, and the role of other risk factors of hypertension should not be overlooked;whether Keshan disease and hypertension can affect each other needs further investigation.

OBJECTIVETo observe the effects of Mongolian pharmaceutical Betel shisanwei ingredients pill on AC-cAMP-PKA signal transduction pathways in hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of depressive rats.
METHODSixty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into six groups according to the sugar consumption test (10 rats in each group), normal control group, model group, fluoxetine group (3.3 mg x kg(-1)) and low dose, medium dose and high dose group (0.25, 0.5, 1 g x kg(-1)) of Betel shisanwei ingredients pill. Except the normal control, the other groups were treated with the chronic unpredictable mild stress stimulation combined with lonely raising for 28 days. 10 mL x kg(-1) of drugs were given to each rat once daily, continuously for 28 days. The AC activity of the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex were determined by radiation immunity analysis (RIA), while cAMP and PKA quantity were determinated by Enzyme-linked immunosorbent (ELISA).
RESULTThe AC activity, cAMP and PKA quantity of hippocampus and prefrontal of mouse model of Chronic stress depression decreased significantly than those of control group (P < 0.05 or P < 0.01). However, the AC activity, cAMP and PKA quantity of rat hippocampus and prefrontal cortex in the fluoxetine group and the Mongolian pharmaceutical Betel shisanwei ingredients pill group indecreased significantly than those of model group (P < 0.01 or P < 0.05). Especially for the high dose group of Mongolian pharmaceutical Betel shisanwei ingredients pill.
CONCLUSIONThe AC-cAMP-PKA signal transduction pathways in hippocampus and prefrontal cortex of depression model of rats is down-regulated, whereas Mongolian pharmaceutical Betel shisanwei ingredients pill could up-regulated it to resist depression.

Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica 2008;43(3):267-276
Based on ninety three acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (AChEIs) which have the same mechanism of action but are different in structural characteristics, the pharmacophore model for acetylcholinesterase inhibitor was constructed by the CATALYST system. The optimal pharmacophore model with three hydrophobic units, a ring aromatic unit and a hydrogen-bond acceptor unit were confirmed (Weight = 3.29, RMS = 0.53, total cost-null cost = 62.75, Correl = 0.93, Config = 19.05). This pharmacophore model will act on the double active site of acetylcholinesterase and is able to predict the activity of known acetylcholinesterase inhibitors that are used for clinical treatment of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and can be further used to identify structurally diverse compounds that have higher activity treating with Alzheimer's disease (AD) by virtual screening.

OBJECTIVETo investigate the effect of sodium ferulate (SF) on diabetic nephropathy (DN).
METHODSForty-eight DN patients of early stage and 54 DN patients of clinical stage were randomly divided into two groups, the conventional treatment group and the SF treatment group. Indexes, including urinary albumin excretion rate (UAER), serum endothelin (ET), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (Scr) and fasting blood glucose (FBG) were observed.
RESULTSThe levels of UAER, BUN and ET were decreased in all DN patients, either early stage or clinical stage, after treated with SF for 4 weeks (P < 0.05, P < 0.01), but changed insignificantly in those treated with conventional treatment.
CONCLUSIONSF can decrease the levels of UAER and BUN in DN patients, the mechanism may relate with the decreasing of ET production and antagonizing to the binding of ET with its receptors.

Chinese Journal of Orthopaedics 2022;42(9):594-602
Objective:To investigate the relationship between anterior tibial translation (ATT) and bony morphology around the knee after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Methods:A total of 67 patients diagnosed with acute ACL injury without any meniscal lesions were enrolled in this study between September 2019 and August 2020. Preoperative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans were used to measure the ATT of the lateral compartment, and bony morphology was assessed by measuring lateral femoral condyle (LFC) length, LFC height, lateral tibial plateau (LTP) length, LTP slope and by calculating the following ratios: LFC ratio (LFC length/LFC height), knee extension ratio (LFC length/LTP length), and knee flexion ratio (LFC height/LTP length). The status of the anterolateral ligament (ALL) was assessed by preoperative MRI scans and classified as completely injured (44 patients), partially injured (19 patients), or intact (4 patients). The ATT was compared between patients with completely injured ALL and those with partially injured or intact ALL. Pearson correlation analysis between the ATT and each bony variable was performed in ALL-completely-injured patients and ALL-partially-injured or intact patients. Results:Of the 67 patients, 33 were male and 34 were female, with a mean of age 31.7±9.7 years (range 15-47 years). The average of time interval between ACL injury and MRI examination was 26.0±22.0 days (95% CI: 20.7, 31.4 d). The ATT of the lateral compartment was 5.6±4.0 mm (range, -4.9-16.2 mm), the average of LFC length was 37.3±2.5 mm (range, 30.5-43.2 mm), the average of LFC height was 37.4±3.6 mm (range, 30.6-46.3 mm), the average of LTP length was 46.9±4.1 mm (range, 39.0-56.8 mm), the average of LTP slope was 6.3°±3.1° (range, -3.7°-11.6°), LFC ratio was 100.4%±8.1% (range, 84.1%-119.0%), knee extension ratio was 80.0%±5.8% (range, 66.1%-96.3%), and knee flexion ratio was 80.0%±6.0% (range, 66.4%-93.8%). The ATT was greater in patients with completely injured ALL than in patients with partially injured or intact ALL (6.4±4.3 mm vs. 3.9±2.8 mm, t=2.52, P=0.014). The ATT was negatively correlated with LFC height ( r=-0.43, P<0.001) and LTP length ( r=-0.35, P=0.004) and was positively correlated with LFC ratio ( r=0.48, P<0.001), knee extension ratio ( r=0.36, P=0.003), and LTP slope ( r=0.29, P=0.018). All these correlations were still statistically significant in patients with complete ALL injury ( P<0.05), but were no significant in patients with partial ALL injury or intact ALL ( P>0.05). Conclusion:Bony morphology of the distal femur and proximal tibia was associated with ATT after ACL injury. Such an association was more dramatic in patients with a complete ALL injury.

Objective:
To investigate the association between high-grade pivot-shift and complete lateral meniscus posterior root (LMPR) tear in patients with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) ruptures.
Methods:
From January 2013 to December 2017, a total of 86 ACL injured patients with LMPR tears were reviewed retrospectively. There were 66 males and 20 females with an average age of 27.8±8.3 years (range 16-49 years) and an mean BMI of 25.1±3.2 kg/m2 (range 17.4-33.9 kg/m2). The average duration from injury to surgery was 33.5±79.4 weeks (range 3 days to 11 years). All patients were classified into high-grade pivot-shift group (60 patients of IKDC grade II-III) and low-grade pivot-shift group (26 patients of IKDC grade 0-I) according to the results of pivot-shift tests under anesthesia before ACL reconstructions. Predictive factors of high-grade pivot-shift were analyzed by multivariable Logistic regression, involving degree of LMPR tear, integrity of meniscofemoral ligament, width of lateral meniscal extrusion, KT-1000 arthrometer side-to-side difference, age, sex, and BMI.
Results:
The prevalence of complete LMPR tear in high-grade pivot-shift group was higher than that in low-grade pivot-shift group. High-grade pivot-shift was associated to complete LMPR tear [

Objective To observe the change in cardiac shape and heart function and evaluate the effect of self-treatment on patients with Keshan disease by echocardiography. Methods To check the 31 patients with Keshan disease before the self-treatment, and follow them up in the 3rd and 6th months after self-treatment by echocardiography. The left atrium diameter(LAd), left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDd), the thickness of interventricular septum in end-diastolic(IVSTd), the thickness of LV posterior wall in end-diastolic (LVPWTd), left ventricular mass(LVM), left ventricular mass index(LVMI), left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF) and mitral valve flow E/A ratio(E/A) were measured. Results The LAd[(35.8±5.1)ram] and LVPWTd[(9.3±1.0)mm] obviously decreased in the 3rd month after serf-treatment compared with prior self-treatment [ (37.0±5.0), (9.9± 1.2)mm](P<0.05). The LAd[(34.5±5.0)mini, IVSTd[(9.5±1.3)mm], LVEDd[(50.2±7.7)mm], LVPWTd [(8.7±1.1)mm], LVM[(196.1±87.2)g] and LVMl[(126.5±56.4)g/m2] obviously decreased in the 6th month after self-treatment compared with prior self-treatment [(37.0±5.0), (10.2±1.5), (51.3±8.1), (9.9±1.2)mm, (230.4±95.5)g, (144.0±54.6)g/m2] and in the 3rd month after self-treatment [(35.8±5.1)mm, (10.2±1.4) ram, (51.1±8.1)nun, (9.3±1.0)mm, (219.4±82.5)g, (136.8±50.0)g/m2] (P<0.05). The results of the mitral valve flow E/A ratio and LVEF in the 3nt month after self-treatment [1.0±0.5, (59.4±13.3)%] were increased compared with the prior self-treatment[0.9±0.5, (58.1±15.6)%], and the results in the 6th month after self-treat- ment[ 1.0±0.4, (60.7±13.6)%] were further inereased compared with before, but there was no signifieant differ- ence(P0.05). Conclusions Self-treatment of Keshan disease patients can improve the heart function by pre- venting left ventrieular remodeling and reversing. Echocardiography can be used as an essential technique to evalu- ate the effect of self-treatment on Keshan disease patients.
