Titanium and titanium alloys,which are bio-inert materials and have excellent mechanical properties,have broad applications in clinic.On the one hand,TiO2 nanotube can effectively enhance the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and have antimicrobial abilities in some extent;On the other hand,TiO2 nanotube,an outstanding drug-carrier,could effectively prevent and treat bone implant-related infection by loading antimicrobial agents.By means of modifying the nanotube coating,improving the efficiency of drug loading and ameliorating release profile,the ideal antimicrobial property could be achieved.Strategies for drug release can be divided into two approaches,namely mechanical release and intellectual release.Mechanical release could fortify the antibacterial ability of coating,but the unicity and uncontrollability of agents diluting need to be resolved.By contrast,intellectual agents release has the advantages of multiple drug species,controllable release volume and programmed trigger condition.This article reviews the current and potential methods of antibacterial substances loading and release from TiO2 nanotube,and expects to provide the orientation for future direction of controllable and intellectual nanotube drug release.

Objective To explore the significance and the ultrastructural changes of platelets in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods Changes of platelets in 20 patients with acute cerebral infarction were observed by transmission electron microscope.Results The ultrastructural changes of platelets within 24 hours after the onset were significant,including more pseudopodium,aggregation and fusion;there were remarkable fewer alpha granules and mitochondria,the remain of mitochondria swelled and more disruption of platelet membrance were found.The degree of platelet changes consisted with the severity and sizes of cerebral infarction.The ultrastructural change of platelets was obviously restored after 2 weeks,but no restoration was found in 3 patients with large area infarction.Conclusion Ultrastructural changes of platelets in acute period of cerebral infarction were remarkable,especially a lack of alpha granules,this might be regarded as an objective index in the judgment of severity and prognosis of cerebral infarction.

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of family rehabilitation plan (FRP) on motor function of stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods64 patients were randomly divided into the FRP group (32 cases) and control group (32 cases). The patients in the FRP group critically followed the schedule and activities scheduled on FRP and were assessed and guided in out-patient department every two weeks. The patients in the control group made schedule and carried on activities by themselves. Motor function was assessed with Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and modified Barthel index (MBI) respectively.ResultsMotor scores of the patients in two groups significantly increased after treatment ( P<0.001), and that of the FRP group was significantly better than that of the control group ( P<0.001).ConclusionThe FRP can significantly improve motor function of stroke patients with hemiplegia.

To investigate association between prognosis of patients of peritoneal dialysis with their initial high peritoneal solute transport and complications. Two hundred and two patients with end-stage renal disease who began peritoneal dialysis during September 1,2006 to September 1, 2008 at Peking University Third Hospital, Beijing were recruited in the study. They were undergone peritoneal equilibration test within six weeks after initiating peritoneal dialysis, and their types of peritoneal solute transport, complications,nutrition status and outcomes were all recorded until August 31,2010. Their survival rate was estimated by Kaplan-Meier method. Compare to those with other types of solute transport, patients with high peritoneal solute transport showed higher proportion of complications ( P < 0. 05 ) during dialysis, but less ultrafiltration function ( P < 0. 05 ), worse nutrition status ( P < 0. 05 ) and lower cumulative survival rate ( P < 0. 01 ).Among patients with high peritoneal solute transport, cumulative survival rate in those with complication was lower than those without it ( P = 0. 031 ). Prognosis of patients with high peritoneal solute transport possibly varies with their complications in dialysis.

Objective To explore the changes and significances of platelet granule membrane protein-140 (GMP-140),GMP-140 in plasma,PAdT and PAgT in patients with acute cerebral infarction.Methods The platelet GMP-140 was measured with enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) competitive method and GMP-140 in plasma by ELISA double antibody method in blood collecting in 3 d and 2 weeks after onset in large(n=22),small(n=25) size and lacuna (n=20) cerebral infarction groups.Results The platelet GMP-140,GMP-140 in plasma,PAdT and PAgT in large cerebral infarction group in 3 d after onset were much higher than control group (P<0.001),and the small size and lacuna groups were higher (P<0.05～0.001) than control but lower than large group (P<0.05).There was no differences between the small and lacuna groups (P>0.05).The PAdT and PAgT in 3 groups were higher (P<0.01).The platelet GMP-140 and GMP-140 in plasma in all 3 groups in 2 weeks after onset had been clearly lower but still higher than control group (P<0.05),the PAdT and PAgT were normal or even more lower.Conclusion Platelet activation was significant in different types acute cerebral infarction,the concentration of GMP-140 in plasma can reflect the degree of platelets activities more well and truly than PAdT and PAgT.

Objective To study the differentially expressed genes and analyze its functional pathways of retinopathy of prematurity(ROP),in order to discover the pathogenesis and provide the theoretical basis for the prevention and treatment of ROP.Methods Fetal eyeballs of induced labor were obtained and retinal microvascular endothelial cells were isolated and cultured.The endothelial cells were divided into 7 groups according to the medium of cobalt chloride (CoC12) concentration (0 μ mol/L,100 μ mol/L,150 pμmol/L,200 μmol/L,250 pμmol/L,300 μmol/L,350 μmol/L),and 150 μmol/L CoCl2 was finally used to induce ROP model in vitro.Retinal microvascular endothelial cells were verified by adopting Ⅷ factor and CD31 antibody fluorescence staining.RNA purification,gene chip hybridization and signi-ficant analysis of microarrays were performed to screen differentially expressed genes.Genes functional pathways were studied by using gene ontology analysis software.Results (1) The proliferation activity of vascular endothelial cells decreased when CoCl2 ≥ 150 μmol/L(F =21,P ＜ 0.05).(2) In 150 μmol/L CoC]2 group,blue nucleus and green cytoplasm were visible in the second and the third generation vascular endothelial cells stained by factor Ⅷ antibody,and red fluorescence could also be observed in the cytoplasm by means of CD31 monoclonal antibody staining.However,only blue nucleus was detected in the group without CoCl2.(3)There were 326 genes differently expressed in retinal micro vascular endothelial cells induced by CoCl2 in vitro,among whom,198 genes were up-regulated and 128 genes were down-regulated.Up-regulated expression genes were 1.5 times more than those of the down-regulated genes.(4)Ten biological pathways including cell hypoxia,angiogenesis suppression and iron ion transport etc.may play important roles in ROP pathogenesis.Conclusions Hypoxic retinal microvascular endothelial cells induced by CoCl2 can successfully be used to induce cell model of ROP in vitro.Differentially expressed genes may play an important role in ROP development.Functional pathway such as hypoxic cells,inhibition of angiogenesis,iron ion transport may be associated with ROP pathogenesis.

The results supposed sodium succinate would be effective in epilepsy therapy.

Objective To analyze the genetic characteristics and molecular variation of human rhi-novirus strains isolated in Shenzhen.Methods RNA samples were extracted from nasopharyngeal swab samples collected from influenza-like subjects in Shenzhen and analyzed by fluorescent RT-PCR.The VP4-VP2 and VP1 gene regions of human rhinovirus strains were amplified by nested RT-PCR.Clustal W and MEGA programs were used to evaluate molecular variation of the human rhinovirus strains.Results Both human rhinovirus A and B were prevalent in Shenzhen during 2012.Human rhinoviruses A was the predomi-nant pathogen, including subtypes A47, A31, A90, A18 and so on.Two recombinant strains of human rhi-noviruses A47 and A31 were detected.The mutations scattered on the VP1 protein and varied in different subtypes.The receptor binding sites ( loop BC, DE and HI) in different subtypes showed polymorphism. Five out of twenty-five drug sensitivity sites ( I121V, L123M, V167I, Y189H and H259G) showed muta-tion.Conclusion Multiple subtypes of human rhinovirus were prevalent in Shenzhen and were in a state of constant recombination and variation.
