Objective To comprehensively understand the first aid skills for spinal cord injury of army members and improve their first aid skills through interventions. Methods A total of 2 200 troops members were selected within the army (Navy,Army and Air Forces).Intervention methods included questionnaire assessment, multimedia teaching and demonstration of first aid for spinal injuries. The total intervention time was 1 year, with once every four months. Results There distributed 2 200 copies of questionnaire before intervention and received 2 118 valid copies, with the total reclaim rate of 96.27%.A total of 2 118 copies of questionnaires were distributed after intervention and received 2 074 valid copies, with the total reclaim rate of 97.92%.Theoretical examination and skill test results of the army members were significantly improved after the intervention (all P <0.01).The general individual factors showed no effect on first aid of spinal cord injury before and after intervention. Before the intervention, the navy members had higher score than the land forces members and the air force members; however,no significant difference was found on the scores of different forces after the intervention. Conclusions The first aid skills for spinal cord injury of the army members has a big gap from the actual requirements.Improvement of first aid skills for spinal cord injury of the officers and soldiers can save the lives of themselves or comrades and hence is important in minimizing the combat attrition in future potential local high-tech wars.

Journal of Central South University(Medical Sciences) 2013;38(2):208-211
OBJECTIVE:
To survey and promote the ability of military men to treat burns.
METHODS:
A total of 2200 military men were recruited to survey and examine their acknowledge and technique to treat burns, and then acknowledge and technique were taught to treat burns through multimedia and demonstration. One year later, the same subjects were surveyed again.
RESULTS:
Before the intervention, their ability was deficient (the mean score was 51). Their scores were significantly promoted after the intervention (the mean score was 75, P<0.01). Before and after the intervention, the service age, education and position had no effect on the score, but before the intervention, the navy's score was significantly better than the army's or the air force's (P>0.01).
CONCLUSION
The ability of military men to treat burns needs to be improved for the potential hightech warfare.

Objective To establish the quality standard for Sanyuan Rupixiao Gel Paste. Methods Sparganii Rhizoma, Gleditsiae Sinensis Fructus, Cyperi Rhizoma and Impatientis Semen were identified by TLC method. The content of tetrahydropalmatine was determined by HPLC. Waters symmetry column was used with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphatic acid in a gradient manner (pH was adjusted to 6.4 by triethylamine) (55:45) at the detection wavelength of 280 nm. The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min at the column temperature of 30 ℃. Results The spots in TLC were clear without any interference;tetrahydropalmatine showed a good linear relation in the range of 0.092–1.84 μg;the average recovery was 100.15%with RSD of 1.58%(n=6). Conclusion The method is simple and accurate with high reproducibility, which can be used for the quality control of Sanyuan Rupixiao Gel Paste.

Objective:To analyze the epidemiological characteristics of childhood infectious diseases in a single center in Beijing City from 2007 to 2021, and to provide scientific basis for the management of infectious diseases in hospitals. Methods:The clinical data of outpatients or inpatients aged<18 years old with infectious diseases recorded in the Nationwide Health Information-based Disease Control and Prevention Information System of Beijing Children′s Hospital, Capital Medical University from January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2021 were collected. Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the types of infectious diseases, population distribution, time distribution characteristics, as well as the etiological characteristics of major infectious diseases. Results:There were 219 260 cases reported, accounting for 5.73‰(219 260/38 295 800) of the total number of hospital cases, with two peaks of 25 469 and 22 928 cases in 2010 and 2019, respectively. The main category of infectious diseases was class C, accounting for 77.51%(169 947/219 260). According to the classification of transmission routes, fecal-oral transmission infectious diseases were the most common, with 144 712 cases (66.00%), followed by air and droplet transmission infectious diseases with 73 946 cases (33.73%), showing an increasing trend by year. The top five diseases in terms of incidence were hand, foot and mouth disease (114 864 cases), influenza (28 703 cases), varicella (22 190 cases), other infectious diarrheal diseases (21 040 cases) and scarlet fever (11 500 cases). Among the 219 260 children, there were 131 546 males and 87 714 females, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.5 to 1. Children aged≤6 years old comprised the majority, with a total of 189 593 cases (86.47%). The peak period of infectious diseases reporting was from May to July. Hand, foot and mouth disease was mainly caused by Coxsackie virus A16(35.02%(1 258/3 592)), while Coxsackie virus A6 had been increasing rapidly since 2017. The main pathogen of influenza was influenza A virus (62.18%(7 400/11 900)), while other infectious diarrhea was mainly caused by rotavirus (87.55%(4 283/4 892)).Conclusions:There is an intermittent outbreak in the incidence of childhood infectious diseases, and air and droplet transmission infectious diseases have shown an upward trend in recent years. Hand, foot and mouth disease, influenza, varicella, other infectious diarrheal diseases and scarlet fever are the main infectious diseases affecting children. Different diseases have the characteristics of age and onset season. The prevention and control of infectious diseases should be updated gradually according to the epidemic trend. Proper protection should be taken during peak seasons and for key populations.

Paclitaxel (PTX)-loaded self-assembling nano-micelles (PTX/NMs) were prepared based on amphiphilic cholesterol-bearing γ-polyglutamic acid (γ-PGA-graft-CH). The properties of PTX/NMs and were investigated. The results indicated that PTX could be entrapped in -PGA-graft-CH NMs. PTX/NMs was characterized with a size of (343.5 ± 7.3) nm, drug loading content of 26.9% ± 0.8% and entrapment efficiency of 88.6% ± 1.7% at the optimized drug/carrier ratio of 1/10, and showed a pH-sensitive sustainable drug-release and less cytotoxicity . release and the pharmacokinetics study in mice showed that the elimination half-life ( ) and area under curve (AUC) of PTX/NMs were significantly higher than those of PTX/polyoxyethylene castor oil (PTX/PCO), and less clearance (CL) of PTX/NMs was also observed. PTX/NMs were distributed higher in liver and tumor than PTX/PCO, and showed a good tumor-inhibiting activity in tumor-bearing mice. This study would lay a foundation on the potential application of -PGA-graft-CH NMs were the antitumor drug-delivery.
