Normal cells have limited proliferation ability. After certain cycles of proliferation, they will lose the response ability to growth factors and finally cease division and start the course of aging. In current opinion, lacking of the terminal end of a chromosome(telomere)is the cause for cells to loss the proliferation ability and leads cells to aging and death. The human telomerase catalytic subunit 1(hTERT)can activate telomemse which prolong DNAs of the terminal end of chmmosome and help cells gain genomic stabilization. The discoveries of telomere, telomerase and hTERT provide new idea for studying of cell aging and the findings are also applied in the establishment of immortal cell line. Also they may play an important role in the studv of biological feature of seed cell in tissue engineering and the establishment of cell bank.

ObjectiveTo evaluate the influence on left ventricular(LV) twist, and the relationship between LV twist and function in the rabbits with ventricular aneurysm formed after myocardial infarction by two-dimensional ultrasound speckle tracking imaging.MethodsTwenty-six healthy rabbits were divided into two groups, six as control group, twenty as experimental group. The model of myocardial infarction and ventricular aneurysm were established by ligaturing left anterior descending coronary artery and left circumflex artery. After four weeks, according to the pathological examination of whether ventricular aneurysm formed or not,the experimental group was divided into myocardial infarct group and ventricular aneurysm group.Echocardiography was performed to measure rotations (at the levels of mitral annulus and apex in LV short-axis view),LV twist, left ventricular cavity size and function.ResultsCompared with the myocardial infarct group,LV end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD) and LV end-diastolic volume(LVEDV) were larger in the ventricular aneurysm group, but LV ejection fraction (LVEF),LV fractional shortening (LVFS),apical rotation and LV twist were lower in the ventricular aneurysm group than the myocardial infarct group. Both apical rotation and LV twist had shown a great correlation with LVEF.The conclusion was also shown in the ROC curve that sensitivity and specificity of diagnosis cardiac dysfunction were 76.9% and 80.0% respectively when the apical rotation was 1.21°.Conclusions There was a closely relationship between the change of apical rotation and the LV systolic function. When the apical rotation dropped to 1.21°,an apparent decline of LV systolic function was implied.

BACKGROUND:Surgical treatment is often required for fractures of the cervical vertebrae. Anterior interbody fusion technology is stil the main method for the treatment of cervical degeneration or traumatic instability. Here, the self-made oval al ogeneic bone pad can adapt to different height and width of the intervertebral space, in line with the physiological shape of the intervertebral space. OBJECTIVE:By comparison with autogenous iliac crest bone, to evaluate various types of self-designed al ogeneic bone pads on anterior cervical interbody fusion. METHODS:From January 2009 to December 2013, 58 patients with cervical disc herniation were enrol ed and subjected to cervical discectomy and anterior cervical interbody fusion. According to different bone grafts, these patients were divided into al ogeneic bone pad and autogenous iliac bone groups. The course of disease was 12 to 24 months. The postoperative effect was measured by Japanese Orthopaedic Association (JOA) score, cervical fusion rate, fusion time, operative time, blood loss and rejection rate. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:At 6 months postoperatively, the JOA score of two groups had no significant difference at 6 months after treatment (P>0.05);the cervical fusion rates were 83.7%and 87.8%, respectively, in the al ogeneic bone pad and autogenous iliac bone groups, with no significant difference (P>0.05). Fusion time was higher in the al ogeneic bone pad than in the autogenous iliac bone group (P<0.05). The internal fixators in the two groups were firmed without loosening, and there was no rejection during the fol ow-up. Compared with the autogenous iliac crest bone, anterior cervical interbody fusion with al ogeneic bone pad can achieve satisfactory effects, which can be better for intervertebral fusion and cannot induce pain due to bone cutting.

Objective To evaluate the effect of oxidative injury induced by peroxide oxidase on Klotho expression in mouse renal tubular epithelial cells (TCMK-1) and to explore the possible pathway. Methods TCMK-1 cells were exposed to H2O2 of different concentrations.Reactive oxygen species (ROS) was examined byflow cytometrry.Cell viability was assessed by CCK-8.Cell apoptosis was evaluated by flow cytometry and Hoechst 33258 staining. The expression of Klotho,apoptosis-associated proteins and anti-oxidant enzymes were determined by Western blotting. Results Compared with control group, after H2O2 stimulating TCMK-1 cell,ROS was dramatically elevated (all P < 0.05) and the expression of anti-oxidant enzymes,SOD2 and CAT went down (all P < 0.05);the expression of Klotho was inhibited (all P < 0.05);cell viability of TCMK-1 cells was decreased (all P < 0.05) in a dose-dependent manner (0.3 to 0.9 mmol/L);cell apoptosis was significantly increased in TCMK-1 cells following the concentration of H2O2 (all P < 0.05);Bax/Bcl-2 and the phosphororation of JNK and p38 were obviously elevated in TCMK-1 by H2O2 induction (all P < 0.05).Conclusion Oxidative injuries induced by H2O2 significantly suppresses the expression of Klotho in TCMK-1 cells. And cell apoptosis was increased,p38 and JNK pathway was activated.

Journal of Experimental Hematology 2019;27(3):991-994
OBJECTIVE:
To assess the analgesic efficacy of compound lidocaine cream in lumbar puncture of children with leukemia and lymphoma.
METHODS:
312 leukemia and lymphoma children necessarily undergone lumbar puncture were divided into compound lidocaine cream (cream) group and compound lidocaine injection (injation) group as control with 156 cases respectively according to the will of inpatient children and their family. For cream group, compound lidocaine cream was smeared on the skin around the lumbar puncture point evenly and covered with sterile and transparent dressing for about one hour before lumbar puncture. Then the cream and transparent dressing were removed and lumbar puncture was performed after regular disinfection. For control group, 2% compound lidocaine was injected as local anesthesia before lumbar puncture. The extent of pain was evaluated by Wong-Baker Faces Pain Rating Scale and FLACC Scale as well as children's physiological indexes (heart rate, breathing, blood pressure). The lumbar puncture success rate and the discomfortableness as well as family satisfaction were recorded by special person.
RESULTS:
Compared with control group, the incidence of pain and discomfortableness in cream group significantly reduced, and the family satisfaction significantly increased (P<0.05). There were obviously differences in the physiological indexes (heart rate, breathing, systolic blood pressure) before and after lumbar puncture in control group (P<0.05). However, the physiological indexes in cream group had no obvious change. There was no difference on the success rate of lumbar puncture between the two methods of anesthesia.
CONCLUSION
Compound lidocaine cream has significantly analgesic effect which can relieving pain caused by lumbar puncture for children.
