Objective:To study the promotion effect of recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor ( rh-aFGF) on wound healing in children with surgery or accident injury. Methods: Totally 206 cases of injured children were randomly divided into two groups, the treatment group was given rh-aFGF, and the control group was treated with basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF). The ob-servation of wound healing, infection and fat liquefaction in the children was recorded in 7 days,and the modification of scar, pigmenta-tion and adverse reactions were observed in 6 months after the treatment. Results:After the 7-day treatment by rh-aFGF and bFGF, the healing rate respectively was 88. 4% and 74. 2%, and the residual wound area was (2. 2 ± 1. 1) cm2 and (3. 9 ± 2. 4) cm2,respec-tively. Six months after the treatment, the scar incidence rate of the treatment group and the control group was 27. 2% and 67. 5%, and the incidence of pigmentation was 30. 1% and 69. 9%, respectively. Conclusion:Rh-aFGF is more effective than bFGF in pro-moting wound healing in children with surgery or accident injury. It can effectively promote wound healing, shorten the healing time, and diminish the area of scar and pigmentation.

Objective To treat femur fracture in neonates using a new homemade harness designed and observe the effec of this harness. Methods Designed a new harness used in femur fracture in neonates,and used this harness in 7(8 femur fracture)csses,including 6 boys(7 femur fracture)and 1 girl,the age from 1 day to 12 days(average 4.7 days).Those cases included proximal thirds(2 cases)and middle thirds(6 cases)of femur fracture.The angle of fracture was from 44°to 83°(average 62.4°)before treatment. Results The angle of fracture was from 0°to 22°(average 14.0°)after treatment using the harness.Hespitalization was from 2 to 3 days.There were no skin sloughing or harness breaking off.All cases were followed up 6 to 36 months(average 21.3 months).All femur fracture healed in good alignment with leg-length discrepancy＜1 cm.Movement of hip and knee was normal. Conclusions The harness is a better method to treat femur fracture of the proximal and middle thirds in neonates.Advantages of it include simply operation,minimal hospitalization,minimal cost,and easy nursing.

One hundred and fifty eight post-stroke patients in the recovering period were divided into intervention group (78 cases) and control group (80 cases).Patients in intervention group received home rehabilitation service provided by general practitioners (GP) for 6 months,while patients in control group received routine rehabilitation.After 6-months,the scores of self-rated health measurement scale (SRHMS) in intervention group were significantly higher than those of control group (P ＜0.01);the visiting time and frequency,medical costs and time of caregiving were decreased (P ＜ 0.01);and the satisfaction score of the patients in intervention group was 97％.The results show that home rehabilitation service can improve effectiveness of rehabilitation for post-stroke patient in recovering period.

Twenty-seven patients of limb fractures with osseous defect were selected from Department of Orthopedics in the 3rd Hospital of Hebei Medical University between April and October in 2003. They all agreed the informed consents and received emergency one-stage implantation of coralline hydroxyapatite. Postoperative restoration of limb fractures with osseous defect was investigated by using X-ray for average 186 days. Among 27 included patients, 25 ones were involved in the result analysis, and 2 ones lost. The implants and osseous tissue were not closely integrated in 1 case, were partial integrated in 2 cases, and 22 cases showed close integration. No case appeared whole or local adverse effects.

Objective To investigate the DNA methylation of skeletal muscle in spastic paralysis rats and correlation with the muscle fiber configuration. Methods 100 5-day old Wistar rats were randomly divided into model group and control group. The former was established the spastic paralysis modle and reared for 30 days. Then, tissues from the gastrocnemius of all the rats were observed with triplicate DNA methylation, myosin heavy chain-I (MHC-I) mRNA with RT-PCR and transmission electron microscopy. Results The DNA methylation was (4.95±0.83)×10% in the model group, significantly less than (6.59±0.75)×10% in the control group (P<0.001); while the MHC-I mRNA was (1.23±0.31), significantly more than (0.44±0.29) in the control group (P<0.001). The Z-line was disordered, and the mitochondria near the Z-line increased, with edema and partially broken in cristae. The balance between the thick and thin filaments was broken, and myofibrils envelope fused. Conclusion Hypomethylation and hyperexpression of MHC-I mRNA have been found in skeletal muscle of spastic paralysis rats, which may result in type I fibers increase. However, there was no sufficient evidence to support the correlation between the DNA methylation and the secondary pathological changes.

Until the recent emergence/re-emergence of human-pathogenic viruses in ticks, tick-borne viruses have been neglected as causative agents of human disease (particularly in China). To gain insight into the diversity of tick-borne viruses in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (northwestern China), we conducted illumina deep sequencing-based screening for virus-derived small RNAs in field-collected Ixodes persulcatus ticks. We found 32, 631 unique virus-matched reads. In particular, 77 reads mapped to the tick-borne group within the genus of Flavivirus, and covered 3.8%-2.4% viral genomes. In addition, 32 unique reads were specific to the Siberian subtype of tick-borne encephalitis viruses (TBEV-Sib) which have never been reported in Chinese TBE loci. We confirmed the potential existence of TBEV-Sib by amplification (using reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) of genomic fragments from the envelope gene or 3' genomic terminus from the pools of examined ticks. Both sequences demonstrated high homology to TBEV-Sib strains attached geographically to southern Siberia with nucleotide identity of 97.2%-95.5% and aminoacid identity of 99.4%-98.3%, respectively. In conclusion, we report, for the first time, detection of TBEV-Sib in the natural TBE loci of China. These novel data may provide genetic information for further isolation and epidemiologic investigation of TBEV-Sib.

Objective To evaluate the Flavivirus specific monoclonal antibody(McAb) 2A10 as detective antibody for simultaneously identify tick borne encephalitis virus( TBEV), Japanese encephalitis virus( JEV), dengue ( DEN )-2, DEN-4 and yellow fever virus ( YFV ) by antibody microarray technique.Methods The antibody microarray was developed by spotting TBEV, JEV, DEN-2, DEN-4 and YFV specific McAb on chip as capture antibodies. After incubating with cultured viral supernatants of the above viruses, CY3 labeled detective antibody 2A10 was added to the chips. After reaction, the antibody microarray was scanned and the results were analyzed. By comparing the signal intensities of different spots on chips,the detecting titre and sensitivity of 2A10 for Flavivirus were determined, and the value of 2A10 in detection of Flavivirus was evaluated. Results The hybridization results demonstrated that the titre of 2A10 for Flavi2A10 was specific for Flavivirus and could be used as universal detective antibody for Flavivirus on antibody microarray.

Theexcretionofurinaryandplasmametabolitesofsalbutamolwasstudiedusingultrahigh performance liquid chromatography electrospray time-of-flight mass spectrometry, after a single intragastric gavaged dose administration with salbutamol. The software of Agilent MassHunter Metabolite ID was employed to find and identify the chemical structure of metabolites of salbutamol. Five metabolites from salbutamol were identified. Metabolites identified in swine urine included glucuronide conjugate salbutamol, N-oxide-salbutamol, hydroxyl-salbutamol, methoxyl-salbutamol and dehydrated hydroxyl-salbutamol. Whereas, only the parent drug, glucuronide conjugate salbutamol and dehydrated hydroxyl-salbutamol were observed in swine plasma.

Objective To investigate the diversity of mosquito-borne viruses in Xinjiang , China, and to identify mosquitos-borne viruses of medical importance rapidly .Methods The virus-derived RNAs in mosquitos captured in wild were screened and confirmed by using Illumina deep sequencing approach and reverse transcription PCR , respectively .The alignment analysis was performed by using gene sequences from GenBank.Results One hundred and forty-four Culex Flavivirus ( CxFV, Flavivirus genus, Flaviviridae) specific sequences were identified .The overlapping reads were assembled into 7 uncontinuous viral genomic contigs.The gaps between the contigs were further filled by RT-PCR products, which resulted in reconstruc-tion of viral genomic 5′and 3′terminus (687 nt and 411 nt).Phylogenetic analysis showed that the newly identified CxFV belonged to America/Asian genotype , which specifically clustered into a clade with other CxFV strains from China mainland ,sharing 98.2%-99.5%homologies in nucleotide sequences and 99.5%in amino acids sequences among them .Conclusion Illumina deep sequencing approach was successfully applied to arthropod-borne virus surveillance .The recently emerged Culex Flavivirus was detected for the first time in Xinjiang, China.

Objective: To evaluate a self-designed external fixation restorer used for femoral shaft fractures in children. Methods: From September 2016 to October 2017, 19 children were treated at Department of Pediatric Orthopaedics, The Third Hospital of Hebei Medical University for irreducible femoral shaft fractures using our self-designed external fixation restorer. They were 15 males and 4 females, aged from 4 years and 2 months to 8 years (average, 6.3 years). There were 7 transverse fractures, 11 short oblique fractures and one oblique fracture. The restorer was applied directly to the femur for traction and temporary external fixation. The femoral shaft fractures were reduced closely before internal fixation with elastic stable intramedullary nails. The Flynn criteria for lower limb fracture were used to evaluate the curative effects postoperatively. Results: The operative time ranged from 32 to 45 minutes (37 minutes on average). All the fractures obtained closed reduction. No such intraoperative complications occurred as traction and compression injury to soft tissues like muscle, nerve and blood vessel. Follow-ups ranged from 8 to 20 months (average, 13 months). All the fractures got united after 7 to 15 weeks (average, 10.1 weeks). No implant failure or breakage occurred. The implants were removed 6 to 8 months after operation when the fractures got united. According to the Flynn evaluation criteria at the last follow-up, 18 cases were excellent and one was good. Conclusions Due to its advantages of simplicity, easy manipulation and direct action on the femur for traction, our self-designed external fixation restorer can improve the closed reduction for femoral shaft fractures in children so that its sustained and effective traction force and high quality of fracture closure avoid surgical opening. The temporarily fixation it provides after fracture reduction can facilitate intraoperative fluoroscopy of the femur.
