Objective To discuss MRI appearance of the cerebral schistosomiasis and its clinical value through analyzing the MRI features and post surgery pathological findings. Methods MRI features of the cerebral schistosomiasis in 16,pathologically ( n =6) or clinically( n =10) proved cases were analyzed etrospectively,and compared with the post surgery pathological findings in 6 cases. Results Single masses were found in 11 cases (11/16),and multiple masses in 5 cases(5/16), amounting to 23 masses . fifteen masse(15/23) were located in right cerebral hemisphere,including frontal lobe ( n =2),frontoparietal lobe ( n =5) ,and occipitoparietal lobe ( n =8), while 8 masses (8/23) in left cerebral hemisphere,including frontal lobe ( n =1),frontoparietal lobe ( n =3), and occipitoparietal lobe ( n =4).The nodular masses were isointense with the gray mass like "island", and 12 cases (12/16) show the "gigantic hand" form of edma around them. After IV administration of Gd DTPA,15cases (15/16) revealed multiple closely spaced,intensely enhancing nodules,1 3 mm in diameter,distributed throughout the mass. Seven cases misdiagnosed by CT were revised by MRI. Conclusion The MRI appearance of the cerebral schistosomiasis is characteristic,and MRI is the most valuable tool to diagnose it without injury.

Objective To investigate the effect of Buyanghuanwu decoction(BYHWD) on angiogenesis and Ang-1/Tie-2 expression after focal cerebral ischemia in mice. Methods Focal cerebral ischemia was induced by 30 min of middle cerebral artery occlusion followed by reperfusion. BYHWD (20 g/kg) was administered orally 24 h after ischemia and once a day. The neurological score and the corner test were used to evaluate sensorimotor function during 28 days after ischemia. The microvessels density and the expression of Ang-1/Tie-2 in the ischemic boundary zone were determined by immunohistochemistry on 28 days after ischemia. Results Compared with the model group, BYHWD significantly ameliorated neurological dysfunction and reduced the number of right turn during 3 to 28 days after ischemia(P＜0.05 ). In addition,the numbers of CD31 ,Ang-1 and Tie-2 immunopositive cells were (437 ±59) ,(389 ±61 ) and (251 ±42) at the boundary zone in model group 28 days after ischemia,respectively. However, BYHWD treatment significantly increased the numbers of CD31(609 ± 68 ), Ang-1 (551 ±66) and Tie-2 (342 ±46) immunopositive cells(P＜0. 01 ). Conclusion BYHWD promotes angiogenesis,which may contribute to recovery of neurological function after focal cerebral ischemia,and Ang-1/Tie-2 pathway appears to mediate BYHWD-induced angiogenesis.

AIM: To investigate the effect of IL-10 on IL-1?-induced prostaglandin E 2(PGE 2) release and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) expression in human mesangial cells and to examine whether IL-10 has effect on the biological function of IL-1?.METHODS: The PGE 2 concentration in supernatants of HMC was measured by radioimmunoassay. The COX-2 mRNA and protein were measured by RT-PCR and Western blot, respectively. RESULTS: PGE 2 and COX-2 were significantly increased after treatment with IL-1?( P0.05 , respectively), while it inhibited IL-1?-elicited PGE 2 production, as well as COX-2 mRNA and protein expression in a concentration-dependent fashion. CONCLUSIONS: These results indicated that IL-10 depressed the IL-1?-induced release of PGE 2 and expression of COX-2. These data suggested that IL-10 could exert anti-inflammatory actions at several levels, not only by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines but also by suppressing their biological function.

ObjectiveTo study the effect of a recombinant plasmid encoding mouse interleukin 2 (mlL-2) on the immunogenicity of DNA vaccine against Chlamydia trachomatis(Ct) serovar E.Methods BALB/c mice were divided into 4 groups to be intramuscularly inoculated with blank plasmid(negative control group),DNA vaccine against Ct serovar E(DNA vaccine group),DNA vaccine against Ct serovar E and a recombinant plasmid containing mIL-2(combination group),and inactivated Ct serovar E elementary bodies (positive control group),respectively.The immunological effects were evaluated by posterior foot pad thickness,proliferation level of spleen lymphocytes,serum level of IL-4 and interferon (IFN)-γ in mice,and the capability to clear Ct genital tract infection.ResultsThe proliferation index of spleen lymphocytes in the combination group and positive control group was similar(3.64 ± 0.41 vs.3.77 ± 0.34),but was significantly different from that in the blank control group and DNA vaccine group (1.37 ± 0.21 and 2.52 ± 0.30).The serum level of IL-4 was(38.49 ± 12.24) pg/ml in the positive control group,significantly higher than in the negative control group,DNA vaccine group and combination group ((25.37 ± 18.93),(24.75 ± 8.49),(21.74 ± 6.43) pg/ml,respectively).With respect to the serum level of IFN-γ,the combination group and positive control group were similar ((1923.3 ± 518.1) pg/ml vs.(2712.5 ± 887.2) pg/ml),but were significantly different from the negative control group and vaccine group((310.8 ± 160.7) pg/ml and(601.3 ± 357.9) pg/ml).Six days after Ct challenge,the exfoliated cells from genital tract were positive for Ct culture in the negative control group,but negative in the other 3 groups.ConclusionIL-2 genetic adjuvant can enhance the immune response,especially Th1 type response,induced by the DNA vaccine against Ct serovar E.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a method for content determination of cyproheptadine hydrochloride in fuyan cream.METHODS:Ultraviolet spectophotometry was applied to determine the contents of cyprohepatadine hydrochloride as well as its adjuvant as two coexisting components without isolation and extraction,the wavelengths were286nm and258nm res_ pectively,linear regression and simultaneous equations were used to analyze the results.RESULTS:Cyproheptadine hydrochlor_ ide and its adjuvant showed good linear relationship in the range of2.52～25.2and2.5022～25.022?g/ml respectively,the average recovery of cyproheptadine hydrochloride was98.61%(RSD=1.08%).CONCLUSION:The present method is simple,convenient,reproducible and reliable,which is suitable for rapid determination for fuyan cream.

Objective To evaluate the efficacy of less invasive stabilization systems (LISS) fixation and double plating on the treatment of AO-type C3 distal femoral fractures via anterior midline approach.Methods From June 2014 to March 2017,18 cases of AO-type C3 distal femoral fractures treated in our department were recruited in this study.They were 12 males and 6 females,at a mean age of 19-62 years.There were 11 cases due to traffic accidents and 7 due to falls from heights.Six of them had open fractures and 12 had closed fractures.They all were treated with LISS fixation and double plating with anterior midline incision.Kolment and Wulff criteria were used to evaluate knee joint function after internal fixation at the last time of follow-up.Results For all the subjects,the average operative time was 145 (110 to 200) min,and they were followed up for 17.5 (12 to 25) months.They all achieved primary wound healing,and had an average time of 22 (20 to 26) weeks for fracture healing.No nonunion,infection,osteomyelitis or injuries of nerves and arteries were observed.According to the results of Kolment and Wulff criteria for knee joint function evaluation,6 of them got excellent,9 good,2 fair and 1 poor outcomes,with a rate of 83.33％ for good and excellent outcomes.Conclusion The treatment of type C3 distal femoral fractures via anterior middle approach of knee joint can fully reveal the articular surface of the femoral condyle.And the operative vision is clear,making it easy for anatomical reduction of articular surface fractures.Combined with LISS double locking plates fixation treatment,it can avoid the injury of soft tissue,and the fracture also be rigid fixation.Postoperative early functional exercise should be allowed to obtain good clinical results.

Objective To study the relevance of 1iver fibrosis at Kasai procedure with age, degree of pathological changes of liver tissue, header bile ductuler proliferation and pathological feature of portal fibrous tissue in biliary atresia patients. Methods From January 2013 to June 2016, 48 biliary atresia patients accepted Kasai procedure, and liver tissue biopsy and portal fibrous tissue excision was done. Level of liver fibrosis was evaluated under microscope using Masson trichrome staining and HE staining, and extent of ductular reaction was evaluated using CKl9 immunohistochemistry staining with image analysis technology. Based on classification of Okamoto severity degree of liver fibrosis, forty eight patients were divided into two groups:low-grade liver fibrosis group (23 patients)and severe liver fibrosis group (25 patients). The relevance of age at Kasai procedure, liver pathological changes, header bile ductuler proliferation, portal fibrous tissue in volume and bile ductuler proliferation, inflammation reaction with severity degree of liver fibrosis was analyzed with SPSSl6.0 software statistically. Results Age of severe 1iver fibrosis group at Kasai procedure were 38- 89 d, and the mean age was (62.64 ± 14.92) d. Age of low-grade 1iver fibrosis group were 18- 92 d, and the mean age was (53.13 ± 16.89) d. There was significant difference (t=2.071, P=0.044). Mean number of patients with header bile ductuler proliferation at Kasai procedure in severe 1iver fibrosis group and low-grade 1iver fibrosis group were (17.28 ± 4.31) cases and (11.39 ± 4.00) cases, and there was significant difference (t=4.900, P=0.000). There was significant difference in degree of hepatocellular pathological changes at Kasai procedure between groups (χ2 =4.691, P=0.030). There were no significant differences in the volume of portal fibrous tissue in volume (t=0.276, P=0.784), portal bile ducts proliferation (t=0.53, P=0.60) and inflammation reaction (χ2=3.074, P=0.080) between groups. Conclusions There is significant relevance between the degree of 1iver fibrosis in biliary atresia patients at Kasai procedure and age, level of hepatocellular pathological change and degree of header bile ductuler proliferation , The more older the age, the more sever the hepatocellular pathological change and the bile ductuler proliferation, the more sever the liver fibrous.

A reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography method for the simultaneous analysis of 23 kinds of phenolic components in water extract of porpolis (WEP) was developed. The separation was performed on ZORBAX Eclipse XDB C_(18) column (150 mm×4.6 mm, 5 μm) by gradient elution. The mobile phase consisted of ethanol with 0.1% formic acid at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min. The detection wavelengths were 256 and 280 nm. The injection volume was 20 μL, and the column temperature was maintained at 35 ℃. The method showed good linear relationship, precision and repeatability. The recoveries were between 93.3% and 106.6%. Eighteen Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Hehei by this method. The content of Catechin was the highest(30.50 mg/g), the next was 3,4-dimethoxycinnamic acid (15.41 mg/g). Nine Reference compounds were detected in WEP of Yunnan. The content of catechin was also the highest (11.23 mg/g), the next was chrysin (15.41 mg/g). Similarity of WEPs between the products of Hebei and Yunnan were 0.099 (256 nm) and 0.194 (280 nm). The chemical compositions of two WEPs were remarkably different.

Objective To investigate the feasibility of C.trachomatis culture in HaCaT human keratinocytes.Methods According to the procedure for C.trachomatis culture in McCoy cells,clinical swab specimens and standard strains of C.trachomatis serotype E were inoculated into HaCaT cells.Iodine staining,a fluorescent monoclonal antibody test and PCR amplification of the endogenous plasmid of C.trachomatis were performed to detect the growth of C.trachomatis in HaCaT cells.Five passages of subculture were carried out for the standard strain of C.trachomatis serotype E in HaCaT cells,and inclusion bodies were counted after each passage.One-factor analysis of variance was conducted by using the software SPSS17 to determine if C.trachomatis was propagated in HaCaT cells.Results Iodine staining showed typical inclusion bodies of C.trachomatis in the cytoplasm of HaCaT cells.Yellow fluorescence-labeled granules were observed in the HaCaT cells under a microscope.Endogenous plasmids of C.rachomatis were successfully amplified by PCR from the infected HaCaT cells.The number of inclusions in HaCaT cells gradually increased at passage 1 through 5.Conclusions C.trachomatis is successfully cultivated in HaCaT cells in vitro,and the standard strain of C.trachomatis serotype E can propagate in HaCaT cells.

Objective To analyse factors associated with onychomadesis in children,and to evaluate the relationship between onychomadesis and hand-foot-mouth disease (HMFD).Methods A retrospective study was performed.Clinical data were collected from 120 children with onychomadesis (average age,3.19 ± 2.06 years) and 120 sex-and age-matched patients with hemangioma.Viral detection was realized by real-time reverse transcriptionPCR in throat swab specimens.Data were analyzed by chi-square test using the SPSS 16.0 software.Results Of the 120 patients with onychomadesis,85 (70.83％) had a history of HMFD,which was 4 to 8 weeks prior to the occurrence of onychomadesis.Onychomadesis was strongly correlated with HMFD (OR,7.621,95％ CI,4.292-13.531),but uncorrelated with the occurrence and peak of fever,abnormality of serum trace elements,existence of latent diseases,or the use of antipyretic drugs or antimicrobial drugs during the clinical course of HMFD (all P ＞0.05).Several viruses were detected in 39.7％ of 68 throat swab specimens from patients with HMFD accompanied by onychomadesis,which included Coxsackievirus A16 in 9 patients,enterovirus 71 in 3 patients and unidentified enteroviruses in 15 patients.Conclusion Onychomadesis appears to be a complication of HMFD.
