1.Study of association between ApoB/ApoA1 ratio and insulin resistance
Journal of Chongqing Medical University 1986;0(04):-
Objective:To assess if the ratio of ApoB/ApoA1 is related to insulin resistance.Methods:673 adults living in Chongqing were enrolled.Weight, height, blood pressure, waist circumferences, fasting plasma glucose(FPG),fasting serum insulin(FINS)and lipids were measured.ApoB/ApoA1 ratio,BMI and insulin resistance index(Homa-IR)were calculated.Subjects were divided into four groups according to the quartiles of ApoB/ApoA1 ratio.Logistic regression was used to estimate the relation between ApoB/ApoA1 ratio and insulin resistance. Results:Compared with the non-insulin resistant group, the insulin resistant group is older and has on average greater mean values for BMI,systolic and diastolic blood pressure, fasting plasma glucose,triglycerides,LDL-cholesterol,and ApoB/ApoA1 ratio. In contrast, insulin resistant subjects has significantly lower HDL-cholesterol than insulin sensitive subjects(P

Chinese Journal of Biochemical Pharmaceutics 2014;(1):145-146
Literatures at home and abroad were collected and pharmacology studies of berberine on treatment of digestive diseases were summarized. Berberine has still huge potential for treatment of peptic ulcer, gastritis, enteritis and other applications, and it has promising prospect in development and utilization.

Berberine is the main active ingredients in Coptis. The content determination of berberine can provide the basis for its quality evaluation.Relevant provessinal literatures about determination methods of berberine were summarized, and the main methods included TLC,UV, HPLC,HPEC,fluorescence, and so on.HPLC was the most widely used method because of its high separation efficiency, specificity and sensitivity.

Objective To observe and compare the association of serum levels of of complement component 3(C3)and high-sensitive C-reactive protein(hs-CRP)with insulin resistance in non-diabetic subjects. Methods 587non-diabetic Chinese were recruited. Weight, height, blood pressure, waist circumference, fasting plasma glucose, fasting serum insulin, blood lipids, C3 and hs-CRP were measured. HOMA index(HOMA2-IR)was calculated.Insulin resistance was defined as the upper quartile of HOMA2-IR. Results C3 and hs-CRP were significantly higher in subjects with insulin resistance compared with subjects without insulin resistance. After controlling for age, gender, body mass index, and waist circumference, C3 was positively and significantly correlated with HOMA2-IR(r = 0.19,P<0.01). As C3 increased, subjects were 3.78(OR= 3.78, P<0.05)times more likely to suffer from insulin resistance, after adjustment for age, gender, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol,triglycerides,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, and waist circumference. However, hs-CRP was not significantly correlated with insulin resistance. Conclusions Serum complement component 3 has a more marked association with insulin resistance than hs-CRP in non-diabetic Chinese.

Objective To assess if the ratio of ApoB/ApoA1 is related to the metabolic syndrome and its components. Methods 709 adults living in Chongqing were enrolled. Weight, height, blood pressure, waist circumferences, fasting plasma glucose(FPG) , fasting serum insulin(FIns) and lipids were measured. ApoB/ApoA1 ratio, BMI and insulin resistance index were calculated. Results ApoB/ ApoA1 ratio was increased in subjects with insulin resistance(IR)and MS. Compared with the low ApoB/ ApoA1 ratio group, the high ApoB/ApoA1 ratio group was more likely to get MS(OR=3.5)and IR(OR =2.3) (P<0.001). Conclusions ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is strongly associated with IR, MS and its components, and a high ApoB/ApoA1 ratio is a valuable marker of MS.

Objective:To investigate the application and teaching effect of a new residency training model for emergency medicine in the context of sub-specialty zoning. Methods:A total of 30 emergency medicine residents were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 15 residents in each group. The residents in the experimental group received teaching based on the sub-specialty zoning model, while those in the control group received traditional teaching. SPSS 26.0 software was used for the t-test and the chi-square test, and the two groups were compared in terms of demographic variables, training assessment scores, and teaching feedback. Results:There were no significant differences between the two groups in the demographic variables such as age, sex, education background, and years of clinical work, and there was also no significant difference between the two groups in the final assessment score of Chongqing ( P>0.05), but there was a significant difference between the two groups in the score of intra-department theoretical examination before the final assessment [(81.20±2.83) vs. (89.73±3.01), P<0.001]. The survey of teaching feedback showed that both groups had high confidence in independent duty and a high degree of satisfaction with teaching, with no significant differences between the two groups ( P>0.05); however, compared with the control group, the experimental group had a significantly higher recognition of the development of emergency sub-specialties and significantly better orientations of scientific research and self-development. Conclusions:The new residency training model for emergency medicine in the context of sub-specialty zoning may help with the long-term development of emergency medicine and should be further promoted and validated in emergency medicine residency training.
