1.Tension-free herniorrhaphy using Kugel patch in groin hernia
Chinese Journal of Primary Medicine and Pharmacy 2006;0(01):-
Objective To review the clinical experiences of Kugel herniorrhaphy. Methods Fifty-eight patients with sixty-two groin hernia were performed with Kugel patch. Results Mean operating time was 25min.The patients could walk in fifty hours and work in five days after operation, respectively. No recurrence or discomfort was found during a fellow-up of 1~36 months. Conclusions Kugel herniorrhaphy is a minimally invasive,tension-free,almost sutureless, and total inguinal repair. The leaning curve is about 10 Kugel herniorrhaphy.

Objective The aim of this study was to demonstrate the effectiveness of the procedure for the prolapse and haemorrhoids in management of haemorrhodis. Methods Analyze the data of sixty-two consecutive patients with third or fourth degree hameorrhoids treated by the procedure for the prolapse and haemorrhoids. Results The median surgical time was 15 minutes, the median postoperative hospital stay was 2.3 days, median time to retum to normal activity was 6.8 days.Five patients need postoperative analgesic,on postoperative bleeding, eighteen patients had acute urinary retention.Fifty-six(90.32%) of the patinets had been followed up to 6 weeks, fifty patients were satisfied with the results of the procedure. Conclusion The procedure for the prolapse and haemorrhoids is a safe and effective treatment for severe haemorrhoids and with the advantages of shorter time of operation and inpatient stay, earlier return to normal activity.

Purpose To explore the Relationship between expression of apoptosis-modulating proteins amdmultidrug resistance in K562/VCR cells. Methods Irnmunocytochemical methol and western blot wereused to analyze the expression of apoptosis-modulating proteins (Bcl - 2, Bcl-XL, Bax, Bak ) in multidrugresistant cell line K562/VCR and drugsensitive cell line K562. Results The positive cell rates ofapoptosis-suppressing protein Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL in K562/VCR were (40.0 ± 8.0) % and (60.0 ± 10.0) % .While the rates in K562 were (1.0 ± 0.3) % and (20.0 ± 4.0) %. There was significant difference in thepositive cell rates of Bcl - 2 and Bcl - XL between K562/VCR and K562 ( n = 3, P < 0.05 ). It was alsofound there was no significant difference in expression of Bax between K562/VCR and K562. Furthemore,Bak was not expressed in both K562/VCR and K562 or the expression was very low. Conclusions Wesuggest that Bcl-2 and Bcl-XL play important roles in multidrug resistance in K562/VCR, while Bax and Bakmight not be important.

Objective To measure the parameters of bronchus and peripheral pulmonary small vessel in the early simple pulmonary contusion, and to explore the changes of bronchial and pulmonary small blood vessels after pulmonary contusion. Methods The chest CT images of 30 patients with early simple pulmonary contusion were collected retrospectively, images were then automatically segmented using FACT-Digital lung TM software.Ipsilateral, contralateral bronchial parameters (luminal cross-sectional area, wall thickness, internal and external diameter, inner and outer circumference and luminal density)and pulmonary small vessel parameters (number of vessels in the visual area, total blood vessel area)for 33 pulmonary contusion cases were measured respectively, finally, correlation between lung contusion area and bronchial and small vessel parameters were analyzed. Results Ipsilateral bronchial parameters (luminal cross-sectional area, wall thickness, internal and external diameter, inner and outer circumference and luminal density)and pulmonary small vessel parameters (number of vessels in the visual area, total blood vessel area)were greater than those in the contralateral(P<0.05).The area of pulmonary contusion was not associated with bronchial parameters nor pulmonary small vessel parameters. Conclusion Quantitative CT analysis can intuitively show the changes of bronchial and pulmonary small blood vessels in patients with early simple pulmonary contusion.

OBJECTIVETo determine glycyrrhetinic acid concentration in rat plasma and concentration of calcium (Ca), copper (Cu), iron (Fe), potassium (K), magnesium (Mg) and sodium (Na) in rat serum after oral administration by LC-MS/MS and the flame atomic absorption method, and analyze the effect of glycyrrhetinic acid on the six elements in serum.
RESULTA similar variation trend between the concentration of glycyrrhetinic acid in plasma and that of Na, Cu elements in serum after oral administration of glycyrrhetinic acid was observed. Glycyrrhetinic acid in plasma at 2 h after administration reached the peak. Meanwhile, the concentration of Na and Cu at 4 h after the administration of glycyrrhetinic acid exhibited a significant increase (P < 0.05). Moreover, an increasing glycyrrhetinic acid dosage could result in the accumulation of Cu and Na in rat serum. Compared with the control group, the concentration of Cu and Na in the the glycyrrhetinic acid administration group with doses of 200 and 400 mg x kg(-1) revealed a significant increase (P < 0.05). However, glycyrrhetinic acid did not exhibit the great impact on the concentration of other elements in serum.
CONCLUSIONThis study focuses on the effect of oral administration of glycyrrhetinic acid on six metal elements in rat serum and provides an experimental basis for the adverse effect of glycyrrhetinic acid in clinical-applications.

The objectification of facial diagnosis has been developed through recent years and has become a multidisciplinary research topic. However, many studies are still limited to the adjustment of algorithms and the design of data collection environment and equipments, few studies focus on facial diagnosis zoning. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the problems in the current research literature on machine learning-based intelligent TCM facial diagnosis zoning to build a foundation for subsequent related research. The study uses bibliometric methods and text analysis to clarify and analyze the current intelligent TCM facial diagnosis zoning methods, which mainly include facial feature point-based,facial feature block-based and complete face-based method;then by analyzing the influencing factors of facial diagnosis zoning research and summarizing the common machine learning algorithms, the advantages and disadvantages of different machine learning algorithms and the corresponding common facial diagnosis zoning methods are obtained; Finally,we discuss three aspects of the current phase of facial diagnosis zoning research:dataset construction, advantages of deep learning, and embodiment of facial diagnosis theory.
