Pancreatic encephalopathy(PE)is one of the severe complications in acute pancreati-tis,which is characterized by a group of neurological signs and symptoms. Itˊs very difficult to have an early diagnosis,while the morality of PE is very high and the prognosis is very poor. Eliminating causes of pan-creatic encephalopathy,early diagnosis and combined therapy are the keys to achieve good curative effects. This paper reviewed the recent progress in the main mechanisms,clinical manifestations,diagnosis and therapy of PE.

Objective To study the growth and development as well as reproductive capacity of CL Long Evans rats. Methods Eighty CL Long Evans rats(80 days old)were bred in a barrier system. A monogamous mating system is used to reproduce 5 litters. Their main indexes of growth and reproduction were determined. The body weight gain of 60 second litter rats were analyzed from day 20 to 100. Results The number and weight of the fetus, the weaning time weight per cote and per litter in the second litter were the highest, and the fifth litter was the lowest. The growth and development curve was the same as that announced by Taconic. Conclusion Long Evans rats have been confirmed suitable for continual reproduction for 4 litters and the second litter is the best one for mating.

Objective Visceral hypersensitivity is an important feature of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This investigation was to establish an animal model of visceral hypersensitivity associated with IBS, and to test its effectiveness by two different ways. Methods The model was established by intrarectal administration of acetic acid daily in the neonatal rats between postnatal 8 and 21 days. The threshold of abdominal withdrawal reflex(AWR) was evaluated during rectal distension at postnatal 6,8 and 10 weeks respectively, and the changes of rectal sensitivity were identified by the abdominal electrical activity measured at postnatal 12 weeks. Objective To investigate the molecular expression and clinical significance of Vimentin and E-cadherin during epithelial-mesenchymal transformation of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tissues.Methods Hepatocellular carcinoma and paracancerous tissue were collected from 55 patients,while nonneoplastic nonnal liver tissue were collected from 20 patients without cancerous diseases as control group.Expressions of Vimentin and E-cadherin were examined by immunohistochemistry staining.Clinicopathological features of the relative expression of Vimentin and E-cadherin,and its influence on prognosis were discussed as well.Results Vimentin was positively expressed in 69.1％ cancer tissue,and was significantly higher than paracancerous tissues and normal liver tissues(P ＜ 0.05).E-cadherin was positively expressed in 27.3％ cancer tissue and was significantly lower compared with paracancerous tissues and normal liver tissues(P ＜0.05).The expression of Vimentin and E-cadherin was negatively correlated(r =-0.653,P ＜ 0.05).Vimentin expressions in subgroups of TNM stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ,poor differentiation,multiple tumor nodules,metastasis and recurrence were all significantly higher than the respective subgroups as TNM stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ] (x2 =7.267,P ＜ 0.05),moderate to well differentiation (x2 =4.045,P ＜ 0.05),single tumor node (x2=12.143,P ＜0.05),without metastasis or recurrence (x2 =7.267,P ＜ 0.05).On the contrary,Ecadherin showed higher expression in the subgroup of single tumor node compared with multiple tumor nodules(x2 =6.878,P ＜ 0.05).The follow-up of patients further demonstrated that patients with positive Vimentin expression had a significantly lower disease-free survival compared with the Vimentin negative group (P ＜0.05).Conclusions Vimentin and E-cadherin both participated in epithelial-mesenchymal transition process of hepatocellular carcinoma.High expression of Vimentin and low expression of E-cadherin were closely correlated with occurrence and development of HCC.Vimentin and E-cadherin may serve as impottant biomarkers in clinical diagnosis and prognosis prediction of HCC.

Objective To analyze the doctors' working enthusiasm and its influencing factors on county level hospitals.Methods 17 seminars were held in 8 counties of 3 provinces to investigate 1055 doctors with questionnaires, analyzing the three scales of working enthusiasm, working enthusiasm influencing factors, and changes since the 2009 new healthcare reform.Results Working enthusiasm comprises inner drive, working pleasure, work recognition and external recognition, and inner drive of which is found to play the most important part, with 20.55％ variance contribution.Among the six dimensions of the influencing factors, working conditions rank the highest with 19.46％ variance contribution.Conclusion Optimized measures in the healthcare reform, better working conditions and social environment can improve working enthusiasm of these doctors.

Objective Bone morphogenetic protein 4 ( BMP4) induces rat myocardial hypertrophy in H9c2 cells, but the spe-cific mechanism remains unclear .The study aimed to elucidate the role of autophagy in myocardial hypertrophy and its relationship with extracellular signal regulating kinase ( ERK1/2) signal transduction pathway . Methods H9c2 cardiomyocytes were randomly divided into 4 groups:control group, BMP4 group, BMP4+PD98059 (ERK1/2 signal pathway inhibitor) group and BMP4+3MA (autophagy inhibitor) group.With PD98059(50μmol/L) and 3MA(5mmol/L) blocking for 30min, BMP4 (50μg/L) were added.Expressions of tiny tube related proteins 1 light chain 3 (LC3) and p-ERK1/2 were detec-ted after culturing for 30min.48h later, measurements were made on cell surface area , average protein content and α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA ) protein expression level .Cell morphology and size were measured respectively by inverted microscope and Image J software .Total protein content was detected by BCA , and western blot was used to measure the expressions of LC3, ERK1/2, p-ERK1/2 and α-SMA. Resul ts 30min later, the expressions of LC3 and p-ERK1/2 were significantly higher in BMP4 group than in control group [(1.54 ±0.05) vs (1.95 ±0.11),(0.94 ±0.04) vs (1.33 ± 0.06),P<0.01] and no significant difference was found in other two groups .Compared with BMP4 group, significant decrease was found in BMP4+PD98059 and BMP4+3MA [(1.95 ±0.11) vs (1.59 ±0.08), (1.36 ±0.02);(1.33 ±0.06) vs (0.87 ±0.05), (0.95 ±0.15), P<0.01], while no significant difference was found between BMP 4+PD98059 group and BMP4+3MA group.48h lat-er, the cell area, protein content and α-SMA protein expression level are significantly lower in control group than in BMP 4 group [(644.1 ±15.01)μm2 vs (745.6 ±14.43)μm2,(240.0 ±7.26)pg/cell vs (347.1 ±5.4)pg/cell,(1.22 ±0.06 vs 1.99 ±0.03),P<0.01], while the corresponding indexes were significantly higher in BMP 4+PD98059 and BMP4+3MA compared with BMP4 group [(745.6 ±14.43)μm2 vs (645.0 ±12.63)μm2, (647.7 ±13.89)μm2;(347.1 ±5.4)pg/cell vs (239.7 ±3.39)pg/cell , (241.1 ± 8.56)pg/cell;(1.99 ±0.03) vs (1.13 ±0.05);(1.12 ±0.02), P<0.01].No significant difference was found as to the indexes be-tween BMP4+PD98059 group and BMP4+3MA group(P>0.05). Conclusion Autophagy may participate in BMP4-induced rat myo-cardial hypertrophy in H9c2 cells through ERK1/2 signal transduction pathway .The clinical treatment of myocardial hypertrophy may benefit from the blocking of autophagy or ERK 1/2 signal transduction pathway .

Objective To observe the diffusion characteristics and pathology changes with DTI in rabbit models with mild cerebral contusion and laceration (CCL). Methods Thirty rabbits were randomly selected and made into models of mild CCL by free fall, while other 10 rabbits were cut only in the skull as control. T2WI and DTI were performed 1, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48 and 72 h after the operation. DTI value of average diffusion coefficient (DCavg) and fractional anisotropy (FA) of mild CCL and its peripheral area were measured and compared. Histological examination was also performed. Results One hour after operation, CCL area showed high signal on T2WI, and no abnormal signal was found in the peripheral area, but both had abnormal color on DTI map. T2WI signal intensity in peripheral area of 22 rabbits (73.33%) increased gradually and had much abnormal color on T2WT map after 3 h. There was significant difference of FA and DCavg between CCL and the mirror region, the peripheral area and the mirror region (P<0.05). The value of FA decreased slightly since 12 h. More prominent tissue necrosis, edema and hemorrhage were found in CCL area than in the peripheral area with pathology examination. No abnormal manifestations of the brain were detected with both pathology and MR examination in the control rabbits. Conclusion DTI is sensitive for detecting mild CCL and can show it directly on color map, and thus may be used as a routine examination in the evaluation of mild CCL.

PurposeIt is important to keep the consistency of CT perfusion imaging (CTP) measurement in the evaluation of intracranial disorders. The purpose of this paper is to probe into the consistency of basal ganglia hemodynamic characteristics in normal rabbits with CTP measurement in the mode of volume helical shuttle (VHS).Materials and Methods Brain CTP scans of 10 healthy rabbits were carried out in the VHS mode. The images derived from CTP were separately analyzed by two radiologists (A and B) with different experiences. ROIs were placed in the bilateral basal ganglia of the subjects and parameters such as cerebral blood volume (CBV), cerebral blood flow (CBF) and mean transit time (MTT) were measured three times in each rabbit. Thirty days later, radiologist A analyzed the CTP images again with the same method. Differences of parameters in bilateral basal ganglia measured by different radiologists at different periods were compared respectively and consistency of the measurements was further assessed.Results There was no significant difference among the three measurements of CBV, CBF and MTT in bilateral basal ganglia (F=0.162, 0.050 and 0.488,P>0.05). TheICC of CBV, CBF and MTT measured by the two radiologists for the first time were 0.84, 0.81 and 0.79; while theICC of CBV, CBF and MTT measured by radiologist A twice were 0.80, 0.89 and 0.84, which showed that the results had good consistency measured by different radiologists at different times.Conclusion With the same post-processing software, the consistency of CTP of basal ganglia in the VHS mode is satisfactory in healthy rabbits, which suggests this technique may be a suitable means in the evaluation of basal ganglia hemodynamics in animal models.
