Objective To report a new designed technique of CT-guided percutaneous puncture for atlantoaxial lateral mass arthrodesis with bone graft and discuss its clinical usefulness and effect. Methods From March 1999 to March 2001, on the base of anatomical investigation of 56 adult cadaversatlas and axis bone specimens, 9 cases with instability of atlantoaxial were treated after reduction by traction, 4 of 9 cases underwent Halo-Vest immobilization, and the other 5 cases underwent transarticular screw fixation through C2 vertebral body for atlantoaxial instability. Of all nine cases, the articular cartilage and capsule of post lateral part of atlantoaxial joints were removed by using home made surgical instruments under CT guidance. Iliac cancellous bones obtained by puncture were implanted into the joint space. Results All cases were followed up from 2 to 17 months (average 12.7 months) and 8 cases more than 6 months. Generally, at the third to fourth month after operation, CT scan showed bony union of the grafted bone and the excessive extension and flexion X-ray films showed stable movement of the atlantoaxial joints, and then the Halo-Vest stock were removed. Conclusion This technique has obvious advantages of less trauma and hemorrhage, high union rate, easy, safe and efficiencies.

Pancreatic encephalopathy(PE)is one of the severe complications in acute pancreati-tis,which is characterized by a group of neurological signs and symptoms. Itˊs very difficult to have an early diagnosis,while the morality of PE is very high and the prognosis is very poor. Eliminating causes of pan-creatic encephalopathy,early diagnosis and combined therapy are the keys to achieve good curative effects. This paper reviewed the recent progress in the main mechanisms,clinical manifestations,diagnosis and therapy of PE.

Pancreatic cancer remains a devastating disease with a 5-year survival rate of less than 5％.Recent advances in diagnostic methods and therapeutic approaches have increased the possibility of improving the existing poorprognosis.Recently,compounds from naturalsources receive ample attention as anti-cancer agents.Overwhelming in vitro evidence and clinical trials suggest that curcuminn,isothiocyanate,capsaicin,catechin may reduce the incidence of cancer.

Objective To explore the tumor markers for the diagnosis of primary liver carcinomas (PLC) by detecting the serum protein spectrum differently expressed between PLC patients and healthy controls. Methods We detected the serum protein spectrum in 50 PLC patients and 50 healthy controls using surface enhanced laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (SELDI-TOF-MS) technique and find the significant protein peaks. The serum Alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) levels in all 100 serum samples were also measured by ELISA. Results The protein peaks, which could discriminate healthy individuals from PLC patients, were detected. Four protein molecules (3354.71, 8825.80, 4345.08, 13 715.01) had a significant difference between PLC patients and the normal controls (P <10-5), indicating that these protein molecules might be a potential marker for PLC. The specificity and sensitivity of SELDI-TOF-MS were 94% and 90% respectively. Sixteen PLC patients were AFP positive and the sensitivity was 54%(27/50). Conclusion With a high specificity and sensitivity, the detection of serum protein spectrum can be performed easily and quickly by SELDI-TOF-MS technique, which provides a serological way in identifying PLC and most likely to benefit from AFP strategies.

AIM: To compare the ligustilide content in Siwu Decoction and its ingredient herb. METHODS: To extract with SFE-CO 2 and to determine ligustilide with HPLC. RESULTS: Of the content of ligustilide, the highest in single herb, next in the mixture of Angelicae Sinensis Radix and Lignstic Rhizoma, the lowest in Siwu Decoction. CONCLUSION: When Angelicane Sinensis Radix and Lignstic Rhizoma were in compound preparation, the content of ligustilide became lower obviously.

To improve the quality of postgraduate students,school of medicine of Shanghai Jiao Tong University have offered medical molecular genetics course to postgraduates and obtained good teaching efficiency. More than ten professors gave lectures on the academic foreland,leading students to find and solve academic problems and training practical and innovative ability of students. Accord-ing to the questionnaires of evaluation of the course and suggestions from postgraduates in the recent two years,some recommendations for the further teaching reform were proposed,such as using multi-plex teaching models,strengthening communication for teaching information with the students,em-ploying comprehensive evaluation methods and strengthening coordination and management of the course.

Because the influence of fibrin on the reaction of plasm inogen activation by various plasminogen activators is different, the kinetic co nstant of the reaction of plasminogen activation catalyzed by InB with and witho ut fibrin were detected. The result is: Kfibrinm＝4.2 μmol*L -1，greater than the normal Km=0.379 μmol*L-1; kfib rincat＝0.107 s-1，greater than the normal kcat=0.0165 s-1. The results suggest that existence of fibrin in the reaction system of plasminogen activation depress the affinity between InB and plasminog en, but accelerates the hydrolysis of plasminogen by InB. The count up effect is inhibition.

OBJECTIVE: To review the current research of tissue engineered venous valve at home and abroad, to analyze the developing trend of tissue engineered venous valve in the clinical application.METHODS: A computer retrieve was performed among PubMed, ProQuest Health & Medical Complete database, Springer English Academic Journal Full-text database, Elsevier Full-text database between January 2000 and August 2009, with the key words of "tissue engineering venous valve", and the language was limited to English. At the same time, Chongqing VIP database, Qinghua Academic Journals Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature database were also screened on computer by using the

OBJECTIVE:To provide scientific reference for rational,effective and economical drug use in pediatric depart-ment. METHODS:A total of 9771 prescriptions were randomly selected from children's branch of our hospital during May 2012-Apr. 2016. Those prescriptions were analyzed statistically in respects of drug type,prescription cost,utilization rate of injec-tion,utilization rate of essential medicine,clinical diagnosis,irrational drug use,use of antibiotics,etc. RESULTS:Among 9771 prescriptions,2.91 types of drugs were used in each prescription,and each prescription expended 77.10 yuan;utilization rate of in-jection was 57.11％,and that of national essential medicine was 67.80％. Respiratory tract disease was main disease (84.17％). There were 284 irrational prescriptions(2.91％),including 156 non-standard prescriptions,165 unsuitable prescriptions and 65 ex-traordinary prescriptions. Utilization rate of antibiotics was 18.25％,among which that of Cefoxitin sodium injection was the high-est(15.48％),but its utilization index was the lowest(0.58). The detection rate of microorganism isolated from bronchitis patients was in low level(45.10％). CONCLUSIONS:The rate of qualified prescription in the children's branch of our Hospital is higher than the requirement of the former Ministry of Public Health concerning the rate of qualified prescription >95％;utilization rate of antibiotics and injection are both in high level. In the future,it is necessary to strengthen prescription evaluation and promote stan-dard and rational use of drugs so as to guarantee safe,effective and economical use of drugs in clinic.

Developmental changes in children can affect drug disposition and clinical effects. A physiologically-based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model is a mathematical model that can be used to predict blood drug concentrations in children and gain insight into age-dependent physiological differences in drug disposition impact. Pediatric PBPK (P-PBPK) models have attracted attention over the past decade. With the concerted efforts of academia, pharmaceutical companies, and regulatory agencies, there are more and more examples of pediatric clinical studies using PBPK models. Nevertheless, the number of P-PBPK models and their predictive performance still lag behind adult models. By referring to the literature, we study the process of children adapting to adult absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion (ADME) parameters and analyze the general principles of P-PBPK model establishment. In addition, we summarize the functions and application examples of commonly used P-PBPK modeling software to provide a basis for the rational application of modeling software.
