OBJECTIVE: To describe the important role of cationic peptides in the treatment of central nervous system diseases. METHODS: The related literature at home and abroad in recent years were read sorted and summarized. The penetration of cationic peptide modified drug carrier system through the blood brain barrier and its important role in the treatment of central nervous system diseases were comprehensively introduced. RESULTS and CONCLUSION: Cationic peptide as a member of cell membrane peptides family and also the most commonly used peptide, has an important role in the transport of drugs blood brain through blood brain barrier. It has made a significant contribution to the therapy of central nervous system diseases.

Objective:To study the stability of thiamine nitrate ( VB1 ) and pyridoxine hydrochloride ( VB6 ) in total parenteral nu-trition ( TPN) solution containing multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) . Methods:HPLC was used to determine the contents of VB1 and VB6 in different prescriptions in 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 24 h. Meanwhile, the pH value was determined and the appearance of the solution was observed. Results:The contents of VB1 and VB6 in 5% glucose solution containing multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) were changed mithin the range of 10%. In the TPN solution, containing multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) , the content of VB1 decreased by 12% in 8 h, and the content of VB6 was changed within the range of 10%. The solutions containing multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) were all light yellow, while the solutions without multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) were colorless and transparent. The pH val-ue showed no significant change in each group. Conclusion: The TPN solution containing multi-trace elements injection (Ⅱ) and compound trivitamin B for injection (Ⅱ) is recommended to be used in 8 hours.

Objective:To study the stability of total parenteral nutrition ( TPN) solution used in our hospital .Methods:The ap-pearance and pH of the compatibility solution were observed and the content of vitamin C was determined in 8 h after the compatibility . Results:The content of vitamin C in compound amino acid solution was decreased with the time , and the solution turned yellow in 4 h and the content of vitamin C was decreased by 10%, while no notable change in pH value was shown .The solution without compound amino acid was stable in 6 h.Conclusion:Vitamin C injection mixed with TNP solution containing compound amino acid is not recom-mended, and vitamin C should be used alone .

Objective To measure the fractional anisotropy(FA) values in the language function areas(Broca area,Wernicke area and arcuate fasciculus)by diffusion tensor imaging(DTI),discussing the pathological characteristics in cerebral palsy children with language development delay.Methods DTI was performed in twenty-seven cerebral palsy children with language development delay(observation group) and 20 children with febrile seizures(control group) by Philips 3.0T MRI scanner.The FA values of Broca area,Wernicke area and arcuate fasciculus were measured at Philips Workstation.Results The FA values of control group in the left Broca area,Wernicke area and arcuate fasciculusis were higher than those of the right side,and the difference was statistically significant (all P ＜ 0.05).The FA value of observation group in the left Broca area was lower than that of the right side,and the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05);the FA values of observation group in the left Wernick area and arcuate fasciculusis were higher than those of the right side,but the difference was not statistically significance (all P ＞ 0.05).The FA values in the bilateral Broca area and arcuate fasciculusis of observation group were lower than those of the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P ＜ 0.05),those in the bilateral Wernick area were also lower than the control group,but the difference was not statistically significant (P ＞ 0.05).Conclusions The main pathogenesis for language development delay in cerebral palsy children was extensive damage in language functional areas,and Broca area and arcuate fasciculus were markedly impaired than Wernick area.

Objective: To transfect a recombinant short hairpin RNA(shRNA)expression vector targeting Livin gene isoform(BIRC71,BIRC72)into the cervical cancer cell line(Hela cell),in an attempt to observe RNAi-mediated silen- cing on Livin gene and the induction of Hela apoptosis.Methods: Hela cells were transfected with the recombinant plas- mid pGenesil-1-BIRC71,pGenesil-1-BIRC72 and pGenesil-1-HK via Lipofectamine~(TM)2000.The expression levels of Livin was determined in Hela cells before and after transfection by fluorescence quantitative real-time PCR and Western blotting. Objective: To evaluate the impact of the number of negative lymph nodes on disease free survival (DFS) of patients with locally advanced gastric cancer. Methods: A total of 485 patients who underwent surgery for gastric cancer were enrolled in this study. We analyzed the data of these patients including complete information of follow-up and definite postoperative pathological results. The disease free survival of all patients was more than 6 months and was analyzed according to the pathological stage respectively. COX regression analysis was performed to screen the independent prognostic factors. Kaplan-Meier method was used to draw the disease free survival curve and the disease free survival rate was compared among subgroups. Results: Cox regression analysis showed that the disease free survival rate of gastric cancer patients with pathological stage T_3N_(0～2)M_0 was significantly associated with age, degree of tumor differentiation, tumor location as well as the number of negative lymph nodes. In the T_3N_0M_0 subgroup, when the number of negative lymph nodes was 1 to 4 and 5 or more, the 2-year disease free survival rate was 8.3% and 55.6%, respectively, and the 3-year disease free survival rate was 0 and 24.9%, respectively (P=0.025).In the T_3N_1M_0 subgroup, when the number of negative lymph nodes was 3 or less, 4 to 9, and 10 or more, the 2-year disease free survival rate was 17.3%, 39.1%, and 52.6%, respectively, and the 3-year disease free survival rate was 4.2%, 6.0%, and 17.1%, respectively (P<0.001). In the T_3N_1M_0 subgroup, when the number of negative lymph nodes was 7 or less and 8 or more, the 2-year disease free survival rate was 11.5% and 35%, respectively, and the 3-year disease free survival rate was 0.8% and 5%, respectively (P=0.015).Conclusion: For gastric cancer patients with pathological stage T_3N_(0～2)M_0, the number of negative nodes could reflect the level of regional lymph node dissection. The number of negative nodes can be an index for evaluation of the accuracy of pathological staging and is considered as an independent prognostic factor for disease free survival of gastric cancer patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of astragaloside,one of the active components of astragalus membranaceus,on myocardial nerve growth factor(NGF)expression in murine myocarditis model with coxsackievirus B(CVB_3).Methods One hundred Balb/c mice were randomly divided into 6 groups.Group A [n=10,treated with carboxymethylcellulose(CMC) 0.1 mL,ig,for 1 week] were served as normal controls group and group B(n=10,treated with 9% astragaloside 0.1 mL,ig,for 1 week)as high-dose control.Eighty infected mice treated with CMC and 1%,3%,9% astragaloside 0.1 mL,ig,for 1 week (n=20 in each group)were served as group C(myocarditic control group),D(low-dose intervention group),E(middle-dose intervention group),F(high-dose intervention group),respectively.The mice were killed and their hearts were removed after 14 days.The expression levels of NGF mRNA and protein in the myocardium were examined by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry,respectively.Results The mortality was significantly reduced in 9% astragaloside treated infected mice that was 10%(2/20)vs 45%(9/20)in group C(P

Background Meibomain gland is a specially differentiated sebaceous gland lying in the tarsus of upper and lower eyelid.The morphological changes of the gland is associated with a variety of ocular surface diseases.Studying the relationship of morphological and functional change of meibomain gland with ocular surface is of great significance.Objective This study was to observe the change of morphology,structure and function of meibomain gland over aging and investigate the assocation of meibomain gland abnormality with ocular surface.Methods A prospectively cases-observational study was performed.Ninety-three eyes of 93 patients with age-related cataract aged 45 and older were enrolled in Shanxi Eye Hospital from March to September 2016 under the informed consent.The patients were divided into 45 to 59-year group and ≥60-year group according to age or meibomian gland loss ≥ 1/3 group and meibomian gland loss ＜ 1/3 group.The ocular anterior segment,lid margin,meibomian gland orifices and lipids traits were examined by slit-lamp microscope.The ocular surface symptoms were assessed and scored by Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) scale.The break-up time of tear film (BUT),tear meniscus height,meibomian gland dropout degree,conjunctival hyperemia and corneal fluorescence staining scores were measured using ocular surface analyzer.Results No dry eye symptom was complained in all the subjects,and their OSDI scores were ＜12.No abnormal changes at the lid margin and the muco-cutaneous junction were observed.No abnormality of the meibomian gland orifices,the lipids traits and drainage was observed under the slit-lamp microscope.BUT was shortened in 42 eyes (45.16％);tear meniscus height was lowed in 52 eyes (55.91％);meibomian gland loss range was ≥1/3 in 58 eyes (62.27％).The meibomian gland loss scores were 1.65±0.79 in the 45 to 59-year group and 1.86±0.72 in the ≥60-year group,showing an insignificant difference between them (t =1.301,P =0.197).But when coming to the correlation analysis,a positive correlation was found between meibomian gland loss scores and age (rs =0.323,P=0.002),and no correlations were seen between age and BUT or tear meniscus height (rs =0.154,P =0.141;rs=-0.024,P =0.821).In addition,meibomian gland loss scores showed a negative correlation with mean BUT (rs =-0.251,P =0.015).The eye number of BUT abnormality in the meibomian gland loss ≥ 1/3 group was more than that in meibomian gland loss ＜1/3 group (P =0.018).Conclusions Meibomian gland loss is more serious over aging in middle aged and elderly population,and serious meibomian gland loss increases the risk of tear film instability.The early meibomain gland dysfunction-like signs occur prior to symptoms,which should raise concern in clinical work.
