Enolase is one kind of important glycolytic enzymes which widely exists in most organisms. A number of recent studies confirm that this enzyme has the functions of activating the plasminogen involving in the processes of infection and mi-gration of parasites reducing the immune function of the host as well as preventing parasites from the immune attack of the host. This paper reviews the current research advances in the parasite enolase and explores its potential for diagnosis drug develop-ment and vaccine target of parasitic diseases.

The myocardial protective effect of continuous infusion with normothermic oxygenated crystalloid solution or blood cardioplegia during normothermic CPB was studied in 15 dogs. Ultrastructure. levels of adenine nucleotides,lipid peroxide (LPO),water content of heart musle,hemodynamics were observed. Dogs were randomly divided into three groups. Objective To investigate the effects of hypothermia combined with sevoflurane on expression of myocardial gap junction protein connexin 43 (Cx43) in isolated rabbit hearts.Methods Healthy adult rabbits of both sexes,weighing 1.5-2.0 kg,were sacrificed after anesthetization.The hearts were rapidly excised and perfused in a langendorff apparatus with K-H solution saturated with 95％ O2-5％ CO2 at 37 ℃ in a langendorff apparatus.Forty isolated hearts were randomly divided into 4 groups (n =10 each):control group (group C),hypothermia group (group H) and hypothermia combined with sevoflurane group (group HS).At 15 min of equilibration,the perfusion with K-H solution was continued at 37 ℃ in group C,K-H solution saturated with 2.4％ sevoflurane was perfused at 37 ℃ in group S,K-H solution was perfused at 30 ℃ in group H,and K-H solution saturated with 2.4％ sevoflurane was perfused at 30 ℃ in group HS.At 30 min of perfusion,myocardial specimens were obtained from the anterior wall of the left ventricle for detection of the expression of Cx43 in myocardial cells (by immunohistochemistry and Western blot).Results Compared with group C,Cx43 expression was downregualted in group H (P ＜ 0.05),and no significant change was found in Cx43 expression in S and HS groups (P ＞ 0.05).Cx43 levels distributed mainly in the intercalated disc in S and HS groups,and in H group the distribution of Cx43 levels in the intercalated disc was less,but the percentages of lateralized Cx43 were increased.Conclusion Sevofurane can inhibit hypothermia-induced down-regulation and distribution disturbance of myocardial Cx43 expression,which may be the mechanism by which sevofurane inhibits hypothermia-induced arrhythmia.

AIM:To examine the efficacy and safety of cryotherapy in the management of Fusarium corneal ulcer.
METHODS: Retrospective contract analysis of the clinical data of 41 patients ( 41 eyes ) who infected with Fusarium corneal ulcer. All of them underwent focal lesion keratectomy combined with amniotic membrane transplantation between January 2010 and May 2013. The cryotherapy treatment group of 22 cases (22 eyes), non-cryotherapy group of 19 cases ( 19 eyes ) . All the cases were followed up for 3 ~12mo. We analyzed the healing of corneal ulcer, corneal neovascularization, postoperative visual acuity, complications and ulcer recurrences.
RESULTS: There were no significant difference for the two groups at the cure rate and the recovery rate, the corneal neovascularization and postoperative visual acuity (P>0. 05). The total effective rate and corneal healing time in cryotherapy group was significantly higher than that in non - cryotherapy group ( P < 0. 05 ). The postoperative visual acuity of two group were higher than that of preoperatively ( P < 0. 05 ). There was no complication occurred in cryotherapy group while there was 1 patient of secondary glaucoma in non-cryotherapy group.
CONCLUSION: Cryotherapy is an effective and safe method for the treatment of Fusarium corneal ulcer.

Objective To investigate the effects of hypothermia combined with sevoflurane on myocardial monophasic action potential (MAP) and transmural dispersion of repolarization (TDR) of the left ventricle in rabbits in vitro. Methods Adult rabbits weighing 1.5-2.0 kg were sacrificed after heparinized and anesthetized.The hearts were immediately removed and perfused with K-H soluation saturated with 95%O2-5%CO2 at 37℃ in a Langendorff apparatus. Forty-eight isolated hearts were randomly divided into 6 groups ( n = 8 each): Ⅰ control group (group C), Ⅱ low concentration sevoflurane group ( group S1 ), Ⅲ high concentration sevoflurane group (group S2 ), Ⅳ hypothermia group (group H), Ⅴ hypothermia + low concentration sevoflurane (group HS1 ) and Ⅵ hypothermia + high concentraion sevoflurane (group HS2 ).Group C received continous perfusion. Group S1and S2 received perfusion with K-H solution saturated with 2.4% and 4.8% sevoflurane at 37 ℃ for 30 min respectively. Group H received perfusion with K-H solution at 30℃ for 30 min. Group HS1 and HS2 received perfusion with K-H solution saturated with 2.4% and 4.8% sevoflurane at 30℃ respectively.MAPs of epicardium, mid-myocardium and endocardium of the left ventricle were recorded. MAP duration at 90%repolarization(MAPD90)and TDR were calculated. Early after-depolarization,delayed after-depolarization and arrhythmia were also recorded. Results Compared with group C, MAPD90 of the 3 layers of ventricle was significandy prolonged, the incidence of arrhythmia increased in group H (P＜0.05). There was no significant difference in TDR among all groups ( P＞0.05). There was no interaction between sevoflurane and hypothermia (P＞0.05), and it only showed that MAPD90 was prolonged by hypothermia (P ＜0.05 ). Conclusion Hypothermia combined with sevoflurane exerts no significant effects on myocardial MAP and TDR of ventricles in rabbits, and sevoflurane decreases the incidence of hypothermia-induced arrhythmia through inhibiting the prolongation of MAPD90.

AIM: To express the synthesized human insul in like growth factor I (hIGF-1) gene in E.coli with high expression level a nd explore the way to increase the efficiency of factor Xa cleavage. METHODS: The gene of hIGF-1 was designed and synthesized accordi n g to the preference of E.coli. A fusion protein with a recognized site of fa ctor Xa between CBD (cellulose binding domain) and hIGF-1 was expressed and puri fied by cellulose affinity chromatography. MTT method was used to assay the bioa ctivity of CBD-IGF fusion protein. hIGF-1 was released by factor Xa. In order to improve the sensitivity of fusion protein to factor Xa, the short flexible pept ide (Gly-Thr-Gly- Gly-Gly-Ser-Gly) was added before the recognized site of fac tor Xa. RESULTS: SDS-PAGE results indicated that the CBD-IGF fusion prot ein was expressed and purified . Biological assay results indicated CBD-IGF fusi on protein could promote the growth of NIH3T3 cell. The short flexible peptide (Gly-Thr-Gly-Gly-Gly-Ser-Gly), which was added before the recognized site of f actor Xa, improved the sensitivity of fusion protein to factor Xa. CONCLUSION: CBD-IGF fusion protein with bioactivite are expresse d and purified. The amio acid sequences changes between the site recognize of fa ctor Xa can help to improve the cleavage efficiency of Factor Xa.

Objective: To establish a mice model of congenital heart disease transposition of great arteries in order to provide a research reference for the occurrence and development of transposition of great arteries. Methods: A total of 20 pregnant ICR mice at 8-10 weeks of age were divided into 2 groups: Control group, the mice received a single dose of DMSO 70 mg/kg at 8.5 days of gestation,n=5 and Experiment group, the mice received a single dose of all-trans retinoic acid 70 mg/kg at 8.5 days of gestation,n=15. All animals were treated for 18 days and then the embryos were taken to observe cardiac morphology under stereomicroscope. Results: Compared with Control group, Experiment group had obviously increased occurrence rates of premature delivery, abortion and embryo absorption, and 61.2% phenotype for transposition of great arteries; meanwhile, combining with non-heart defect phenotypeas exophthalmos and spinal malformation. Conclusion: All-trans retinoic acid may induce transposition of great arteries in mice embryos, which is a feasible animal model in experimental research.
