Objective:To evaluate the predictive value of 3 methods, namely plasma paraquat concentration, severity index of paraquat poisoning (SIPP), and acute physiology and chronic health evaluation (APACHE II) in severity evaluation and prognosis of acute paraquat poisoning. Methods:A total of 73 acute paraquat poisoning patients with oral administration were collected. Paraquat concentration in the plasma and other parameters on admission for SIPP and APACHE II were taken from medical records. According to the clinical outcome in the hospital or 7 days atfer the discharge, discrimination and calibration test were performed to evaluate the prognosis of the 3 methods. Results:Discrimination of the 3 methods was greater than 0.8, and the area under the receiver operator curve for SIPP (0.938) was greater than paraquat concentration in the plasma (0.857) and APACHE II (0.801) with statistical signiifcance (z=2.429, 2.021;P=0.015, 0.043). Difference in plasma paraquat concentration (0.857) and APACHE II (0.801) had no statistical signiifcance (z=0.755, P=0.450). Hosmer-Lemeshow good fit test suggested better calibration value with statistical signiifcance for the 3 methods (P>0.05). Conclusion:hTe 3 methods are valid in the severity evaluation and prognosis of acute paraquat poisoning. SIPP is the most preferred method, followed by paraquat concentration on admission. When there is no facility to measure paraqut concentration, APACHE II can be used as a reference for the death risk in acute paraquat poisoning.

[Objective] The aim of this study is to investigate the mechanism and curative effect of cataplasma of Artemisia Argyi by supercritical CO 2 fluid extraction to rat weight, foot swel ing, interleukin-1β, interleukin-17 and tumor necrosis factor-αin the adjuvant arthritis rat models;and afford theoreti-cal evidence for clinical work.[Methods]50 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups:Control group, Model group, Low-dose treatment group, Medium-dose treatment group, High-dose treatment group. Model and al treatment goups took CFA for model ing. After establishing animal models of AA rats, the first group and second group used cataplasm without active drug ingredients. Other groups were given treatment according to dif-ferent drug doses. Assess the joint swel ing degree at different times. Measure the arthritic index and rat weight in two weeks. After 21 days ,detect the cy-tokines level of IL-lβ,IL-17 and TNF-α from the rat's serum and examine the pathological changes of joint observed by HE . [Results]Cataplasma of Artemisia Argyi by supercritical CO2 fluid extraction can significantly reduce rat foot swel ing of the ankle joint pathology ,reduce arthritis score and slow down the weight loss,meanwhile,effectively improve the general daily behavior of rats. The standard of IL-1β,IL-17,TNF-α in serum can be decreased by cataplasma of Artemisia Argyi by supercritical CO2 fluid extraction. The pathological result showed: in the treatment group,the rats synovial hyperplasia the vesselwing reduced, the inflammatory cel infiltration was more decreased than the model group. [Conclusion]The result showed that the cataplasma of Artemisia Argyi by supercritical CO2 fluid extraction had an obvious effect in treating RA. The mechanism was probably that it regulated the immune dis-order of RA.

Objective To investigate the expression and clinical signification of tumor M2 pyruvate kinase in pa-tients with CRC, and to try to find a reliable and atraumatic method to predict the progress and pronosis in the CRC. Methods ELISA method was used to determine the serum levels of tM2-PK in 68 patients with CRC,40 pa-tients with colorectal polyps and 40 cases of normal subjects; immunohistochemistry ( IHC ) methods were respec-tively used to detect the expression of tM2-PK in tissues. Results ① The level of serum tM2-PK in patients with CRC was significantly higher than the group of patients with polyps and the normal subjects ( P<0.05 ) . The serum tM2-PK levels was closely correlated to tumor size and Duke stage.②The positive rate of tissue tM2-PK was signif-icantly higher in CRC than in colorectal polyps and normal subjects ( P<0.05 ) . Tissue tM2-PK levels was closely correlated to tumor size,Duke stage and differentiation grade. ③Serum tM2-PK levels was correlated to tissue tM2-PK levels (r=0.357,P=0.003). Conclusion Combined detection of expression of tM2-PK can provide the basis theory for the diagnosis and prognosis evaluation of CRC.

Objective To determine the reliability, validity and feasibility of using International Classifica-tion of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) core set for breast cancer in Chinese patients. Methods Quality of life (QOL) of 110 patients with breast cancer were investigated using ICF breast cancer core set and SF-36 scale. Statistical analysis tested their reliability, validity and feasibility. Results It was shown that the ICF core set for breast cancer had good reliability, validity and feasibility. Conclusions The ICF core set for breast cancer is a re-liable and valid instrument for Chinese breast cancer patients.

Objective To investigate the effect of Brocho-Vaxom in curing chronic pulmonary heart disease and the influence of patient's immunity.Methods 58 patients with chronic pulmonary heart disease were randomly divided into two equal groups.Each patient of treatment group took a Brocho-Vaxom capsule(7mg/cap) every.The respiratory tract infection times and duration were observed.The serum IgA,IgG,IgM level were tested by fast immunonephelometry.The sub-type lymphocyte was tested by SP,and the NK cell's activity was tested by MTT.Results The infection time obviously declined in treatment group which the average was (2.5?1.8) in five months as compared with that in the controlled group(P

Objective To investigate the effects of intravenous injection of α-crystallin on retinal ganglion cells (RGC) and some important organs of the Long Evans rats. Methods RGC were retrogradelabeled by fluorogold through bilateral superior colliculus and lateral geniculate body for seven days before optic nerve crush injury. Twenty-three Long Evans rats were used for this study, including three rats of normal control group and 20 rats of experimental group. Twenty rats were randomly divided into saline control group and three α-crystallin injection groups, which received tail vein injection of 1.25 ml isotonic saline and three different concentrations (1 × 10-2 , 1 × 10-1 and 1 g/L) of α-crystallin respectively, once every two days and totally seven times. After two weeks, the labeled RGC were counted, and the pathological changes on liver, kidney, brain, spleen and the lungs were investigated. Results Compared with the normal control group, although the number of RGC markedly decreased after two weeks of optic nerve crush injury in every group, the number of RGC in α-crystallin-treated groups was more than those in the saline control group. There were 2074± 150 RGC per mm2 in normal control group, 85 ± 15 RGC per mm2 in saline control group, 124±26 RGC per mm2 in 1 × 10-2 g/L α-crystallin group, 128± 31 RGC per mm2 in 1 × 10-1 g/L α-crystallin group, 164 ± 20 RGC per mm2 in 1 g/L α-crystallin group (F= 18. 660,P＜0. 01). No congestion, swelling, inflammation and other pathological changes were found in liver,kidney, brain, spleen and lung. Conclusions Intravenous injection of α-crystallin protein has protective effects on RGC after the optic nerve crush injury, and no significant effects on important organs.

Objective To investigate the clinical effect of orthokeratology (ortho-k)during night and wearing frameglass during daytime for treating high myopic in teenagers.Methods 53 teenager cases (aged 10 - 14 years old)of high myopia with spherical equivalent degree -6.00--8.00 diopters (D)in our hospital were performed the retrospective analysis,among them,23 cases were the combined wearing of ortho-k and frameglass and 30 cases were simple wearing of frameglass.The changes of eye axi-al length at 6,12,18 24 months before and after wearing frameglass were measured and compared between the two groups.The spherical equivalent degrees were compared between before wearing frameglass and at 2 years after wearing frameglass.Results The spherical equivalent degree after stopping wearing for 1 month after 2-year wearing in the ortho-k and frameglass group was(-7.28±0.57)D,which after 2 years in the frameglass group was (-7.80±0.68)D,the 2-year spherical equivalent degrees in the or-tho-k and frameglass group and the frameglass group were increased by (-0.29 ±0.22)D and(-1.07 ±0.41)D respectively,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant(P <0.01);the eye axial growths were(0.12±0.04)mm and(0.37± 0.13)mms respectively,the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P <0.01).Conclusion The combina-tion of ortho-k during night and frameglass during daytime can effectively relieve the myopia increase and eye axis elongation in the patients with high myopia and control the myopia development to some extent.

Objective To analyze the relationship between renal function impairement and obesity in patients with primary hypertension.Methods One hundred and twenty-eight primary hypertension patients with renal function impairement admitted to our hospital from January 2012 to December 2015 were divided into obesity group (n=68) and control group (n=60) according to the Asian obesity diagnosis criteria established by the International Diabetes Federation.Relationship of serum urea nitrogen (BUN),creatinine,cystatin C (Cys-C),urinary N-acetyl beta-D glucosaminidase (NAG),urinary micro albumin levels and BMI with renal function impairment in primary hypertension patients was analyzed by multivariate linear stepwise regression analysis.Results The BMI,serum levels of urinary NAG,Cys-C,BUN,and creatinine were significantly higher in obesity group than in control group (31.70±1.80 kg/m2 vs 23.95±2.00 kg/m2,19.34±1.40 U/L vs 14.92±1.31 U/L,0.69±0.06 mg/L vs 0.47±0.05 mg/L,11.50±2.90 mmol/L vs 8.60±1.90 mmol/L,159.50±10.40 μmol/L vs 148.90±10.70 μmol/L,P＜0.05).The incidence of urinary micro albumin was significantly higher in obesity group than in control group (79.4％ vs 46.7 ％,P＜ 0.01).Blood pressure,pulse pressure difference,BMI,fasting blood glucose,serum levels of ereatinine,urinary NAG,Cys-C,BUN and urinary micro albumin were the risk factors for renal function impairement in primary hypertension patients (P＜0.05,P＜0.01).Conclusion Renal function impairement is related with obesity in primary hypertension patients.

Objective To assess whether lysyl oxidase like-2 (LOXL2) has a predictive or prognostic value in pulmonary fibrosis mice,and identify the relationship between LOXL2 and transforming growth factor (TGF)-β 1.Methods Male C57BL/6 mice (n=50) were randomly divided into the experimental group (n=40) and controls (n=10).Each mouse in the experimental group was induced by injecting bleomycin into trachea and mice were sacrificed on day 3,7,14 and 28,respectively.The concentrations of LOXL2,TGF-β 1 of the serum and lung homogenates were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.One-factor analysis of variance (ANOVA) and nonparametric rank sum test was used for the comparisons between the two groups.Associations between these factors were analyzed by Spearman's test.Results ① The levels of serum and lung homogenates LOXL2 in the experimental group were obviously increased as compared to those in the controls [serum:(56±48) vs (25±23),P＜0.05;lung homogenates:(61±32) vs (22±16),P＜0.05].And in the experimental group,a positive correlation was found between the level of LOXL2 and the radiological index,the pathological score of inflammation and fibrosis.(Serum:r=0.435,0.533,0.335,P＜0.05;lung homogenates:0.675,0.736,0.526,P＜0.05).② The levels of lung homogenates TGF-β 1 in the experimental group were obviously increased as compared to those in the controls [(302±197) vs (64±16),P＜0.05].A positive correlation was found between the level of lung homogenates LOXL2 and the level of lung homogenates TGF-β1 (r=0.520,P＜0.05).Conclusion LOXL2 participates in the pathological process of bleomycin induced pulmonary fibrosis in mice.It predicts pulmonary fibrosis in the preclinical stage and is associated with increased risk for disease progression.The elevated levels of LOXL2 and TGF-β 1 may have some relationship.They both are involved in the disease progression of pulmonary fibrosis.
