The application of Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) to the elimina tion of 50Hz noise in physiological signal, such as ECG signal, is discussed in this article. The high speed and flexibility are acquired because of FPGA's app lication, which give the system the ability to acquire and process multi bio-par ameters.

Objective To explore the relationship between oxidative stress and urinary tract infection (UTI) during pregnancy.Methods The urine superoxide dismutase (SOD),catalase (CAT) malondialdehyde (MDA) were measured in 188 pregnant women and 80 healthy women.Results UTI was observed in 39 of 188 pregnant women.The levels of CAT,SOD,and MDA were significantly increased in pregnant women compared to nonpregnant women [(CAT:7.47 ± 0.56) U/ml vs (4.56 ± 0.36) U/ml,P＜0.01 ; SOD:(11.62 ±0.96) U/ml vs (10.25 ±0.89) U/ml,P ＜0.01 ; MDA:(2.46 ±0.22) nmol/mg vs (1.28 ± 0.11) nmol/mg,P ＜ 0.01].The activities of CAT and SOD,and the level of MDA were significantly increased from the first trimester to the third trimester in pregnancy(P ＜ 0.01).The activities of CAT in UTI group [(3.15 ± 0.49) U/ml were significantly lower that the non-UTI group (10.25 ± 0.89)U/ml] (P ＜ 0.01).The activities of SOD in the UTI goup [(4.38 ± 0.37) U/ml were significantly lower than the non-UTI group (13.52 ± 1.11)U/ml] (P ＜0.01).The level of MDA in UTI group [(2.58 ±0.24) nmol/mg] was significantly higher than the non-UTI [(2.43 ±0.21)nmol/mg] (P ＜ 0.01).The rate of UTI (20.74％) in the pregnancy was significantly higher than that in the nonpregnant women (10.00％) (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusions Oxidative stress may be the cause of UTI in pregnant women.

Objective to investigate the therapeutic efficacy of multiple-point injection with absolute alcohol and pinyangmycin under digital fluoroscopic guidance for superficial venous malformations. Methods By using a disposal venous transfusion needle the superficial venous malformation was punctured and then contrast media lohexol was injected in to visualize the tumor body,which was followed by the injection of ethanol and pinyangmycin when the needle was confirmed in the correct position. The procedure was successfully performed in 31 patients. The clinical results were observed and analyzed. Results After one treatment complete cure was achieved in 21 cases and marked effect was obtained in 8 cases,with a total effectiveness of 93.5%. Conclusion Multiple-point injection with ethanol and pinyangmycin under digital fluoroscopic guidance is an effective and safe technique for the treatment of superficial venous malformations,especially for the lesions that are deeply located and ill-defined.

Ethmoid sinus foreign body can be divided into endogenous and exogenous, the clinically referred mostly belonging to the exogenous foreign body. The exogenous ethmoid sinus foreign body generally has a history of facial trauma, its clinical manifestations are associated with the foreign body size, nature, residence time and location. Using X-ray, CT scan can further confirm the diagnosis. Removing the ethmoid sinus foreign body may have a better therapeutic effect by endoscopic sinus surgery. Here we report a rare case of foreign body in the ethmoid sinus.

OBJECTIVE:To establish a rapid,sensitive,accurate and stable method for the determination of voriconazole in human plasma in order to monitor clinical use of voriconazole. METHODS:HPLC-UV detection method was applied using carba-mazepine as internal standard. Plasma samples were treated with acetonitrile protein precipitation. The determination was performed on Phecda C18 column with 20 mmol/L monopotassium phosphate buffer solution (pH 6.0)-acetonitrile (50∶50,V/V) as mobile phase at flow rate of 1 ml/min. The column temperature was 40℃ and detection wavelength was 255 nm. The injection volume was 50 μl. RESULTS:The retention time of voriconazole and internal standard were 8.34 and 6.24 min. The linear range of voricon-azole in plasma were 0.10-20.00 μg/ml(r=0.999 5). The lowest limit of quantitation was 0.05 μg/ml. Intra-day and inter-day RSD were below 1.57% and 1.45%,respectively. The extraction recovery of low,medium and high concentrations were between 81.40%to 128.29%. CONCLUSIONS:The method is simple and accurate for therapeutic drug monitoring(TDM)of voriconazole.

Objective:To investigate the long-term risk of esophageal cancer from fresh fruit consumption. Methods:In 1985, a total of 29,479 participants aged between 40 and 69 years old were recruited for this study. Demographic characteristics, lifestyle, history of diseases, and food intake frequency were surveyed at the baseline and were then followed up. Through December 31, 2015, a median of 31.79 years of observation was obtained. The primary endpoint was death from esophageal cancer. The hazard ratio and 95%confi-dence intervals for fresh fruit consumption were calculated using a Cox proportional hazard model. Results:Overall, 31.09%of partici-pants reported consuming fresh fruit more than once every week. Compared with participants who never or rarely consumed fresh fruit, those who consumed fresh fruit more than once a week had a lower long-term risk of esophageal cancer. Death rate decreased to 7%among those who ate fresh fruit more than once a week, especially among males (11%) and those with positive smoking history (13%). Conclusion:Fresh fruit consumption is associated with a lower risk of death from esophageal cancer, but the etiological mecha-nism needs to be investigated further.

Objective To observe the regulation of Fengxiaofang on the expression of gene Gob-5 in ovalbumin-challenged asthmatic mice. Methods The murine model of allergic asthma established by ovaibumin was used. The model mice were treated experimentally with Fengxiaofang and Dexamethasone as a positive control. The quantitive expression of gene Gob-5 in lung of mice was detected by real-time quantitative PCR. Results The expression of gene Gob-5 in lung of mice was down-regulated by Fengxiaofang. In the experiment, there were no significant differences between the one-fold or ten-fold dosage groups and the normal control group. Gene Gob-5 expression in five-fold dosage was significantly lower than that in the normal control group. Conclusion Fengxiaofang has the effect of lowering the expression of gene Gob-5 which maybe related to the potency on asthmatic disease.

A USB bus based data interface technology for full auto Patch-Clamp system is discussed in the article. The main controller is CY2131QC (Cypress) and the logic controller is EPM3256A (Altera). Optocouplers are used to get rid of the noise from the interface. It makes the installation of the Patch-Clamp system easier by using the USB bus, and is suitable for the new generation of the Patch-Clamp system with a high speed of 1M bytes/s.
