Objective To discuss the clinical effect and influence combination of drugs on the functions of target organs in the patients with salt-sensitive hypertension. Methods 125 patients with salt-sensitive hypertension, their clinical data retrospec-tively analyzed, divided into two groups, treated with coaprovel and felodipine combined with irbesartan respectively for 8 weeks. The levels of left ventricular mass index (LVMI), fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TC), total cholesterol (TC) and blood 2-microglobulin (2-MG) during the treatment were then observed. Results The amplitude of blood pressure was significantly lower in the coaprovel group after 4 weeks and 8 weeks of treatment in the patients with salt -sensitive hypertension. However, there was no statistical difference of effectiveness between the coaprovel group ( 81.0%) and the felodipine combined with irbesartan group (83.9%).The decrease range of LVMI showed significantly better results in the coaprovel group (28.9 ±7.3).Moreover, there was no statistical difference in other indexes between two groups or before and after treatment .Conclusion Coaprovel has a similar cura-tive effect with felodipine combined with irbesartan in the treatment of patients with salt -sensitive hypertension. It has more signifi-cant protective effect for heart damage .

OBJECTIVE:To discuss the application of pharmacoeconomics in "Treating Preventable Diseases" in traditional Chinese medicine. METHODS:Based on the brief introduction of pharmacoeconomics and the theory of "Treating Preventable Diseases",and taking preventing cerebral infarction by using drugs for invigorating blood circulation and eliminating stasis as example to analyze the feasibility and significance of pharmacoeconomics in the study of "Treating Preventable Diseases". RESULTS & CONCLUSIONS:The application of pharmacoeconomics in evaluating the theory of "Treating Preventable Diseases" will establish an objective evaluation system of Traditional Chinese Medicine and guide the rational use of drugs in clinic.

Chinese Traditional and Herbal Drugs 1994;0(12):-
Object To study the relationship between the essential oil constituents and the chromosome numbers of Houttuynia cordata and compare the difference of the essential oil constituents from the fresh and the dried ones, aerial and underground parts of the fresh plant. Methods The essential oil constituents of H. cordata with different chromosome numbers from the aerial and underground parts of the fresh, and the aerial parts dried in shade as well were analyzed by TLC. Results According to the difference of the spot number and definition of the essential oil TLC pattern, the essential oil constituents in the aerial parts of 20 fresh plants were classified into five types, those in their underground parts into three types, and those in 19 dried plants into four types. Conclusion There is obvious difference in the essential oil constituents between the fresh aerial and underground parts, and between the fresh and dried plants. The difference among the fresh plants is more significant than that of the dried ones. And the difference among the aerial parts of the fresh plants is more significant than that of the underground parts. There is a tendency that the spot numbers increase with the chromosome numbers. The difference of essential oil constituents in H. emeiensis and H. cordata is insignificant.

OBJECTIVE:To study the preparation of 5% albumin microspheres by sonication and the possible mechanism of microsphere forming.METHODS:The preparation technic was optimized with orthogonal design. The microsphere diameter was measured with Coulter multisizer and the outward apperance was observed with light and electronic microscope.RESUL_TS:The optimal preparation technic was as follows:5% albumin in NS,ultrasound power at 9th grade and 60 seconds of sonication.CONCLUSION:The albumin microspheres filled with air can be successfully prepared with orthogonal design and can be effectively used in intravenous myocardial contrast echocardiography.

Objective To compare the influence of different extraction technology on the pharmacodynamic actions of drug pair of Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Radix Paeoniae Alba. Methods The influences of water extraction, alcohol extraction, and SFE-CO2 extraction on pharmacodynamic actions of drug pair of Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Radix Paeoniae Alba were evaluated by mice intestine propulsive motility test, rats repelling acute gastric mucosa damage test, mice twisting test and hot-plate test. Results The paired drugs extracted by SFE-CO2 combining with water extraction or alcohol extraction had better pharmacological actions. Conclusion This study provides a scientific basis for optimizing the extraction technology of drug pair of Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae and Radix Paeoniae Alba.

Objective To establish a method for the determination of berberine and salvianolic acid B in Fuyankang En- ema. Methods The chromatograhie separation was performed on a Kromasil C_(18) column (250 mm?4.6 mm,5?m) with a gradient elution of acetonitrile-0.04 mol/L potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution containing 0.1% phosphoric acid. The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and column temperature was set at 30℃.The detection wavelength was 230 nm.Results There was a good linearity in the range of 0.0924~2.3100?g (r=0.999 9) for berbeine, and 0.1000~2.5000?g (r=0.999 9) for salvianolic acid B.The average recoveries of berberine at high, middle and low concentra- tions were 100.40 %,99.51% and 99.15 % respectively with RSD being 0.59 %,0.67 %and 1.02 % (n=3) re- spectively. The average recoveries for salvianolic acid B were 101.52 %,99.32 % and 98.68 % respectively with RSD being 0.60 %,0.92 % and 1.00 % (n=3),respectively.Conclusions This method is convenient, specific and re- producible for the determination of berbeine and salvianolic acid B in Fuyankang Enema by HPLC.

Objective To establish a quality standard for Huangqin Zhengqi Capsules (HZC). Methods HZC was identified by TLC and HPLC and the effective components of HZC were determined by HPLC. Results The relevant spots in Cortex Magnoliae Officinalis and Herba Pogostemonis were identified by TLC, and the characteristic compounds of Rhizoma Atractylodis were identified by HPLC; the contents of hesperidin, baicalin, honokiol and magnolol could be determined by HPLC. Conclusion The quality standard is simple, feasible and repeatable, and can be used for quality supervisory and control in Huangqin Zhengqi Capsule.
