Journal of International Oncology 2012;39(2):113-116
Lupeol,a triterpene,is found in various edible and medicinal plants.Lupeol has been shown to exhibit strong anti-inflammatory,anti-arthritic,gene mutation prevention and anti-malarial effect.Recently,it is found that lupeol is the main active ingredients of inhibiting the growth of a several kinds of cancers and carcinomas in some antineoplastic plants.Lupeol has antineoplastic effect.

International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(8):562-566
It has been confirmed that hepatocellular carcinoma belongs to gene related disease.Biological characteristic of hepatocyte can be infected by abnormal expression of related genes, resulting in normal cell transformed to carcinoma cell, therefore,we should do further research to find new methods for diagnosis and treatment of HCC.As a new technique for gene knockdown,RNAi has been applied more in the fields of gene function and gene therapy. This paper is a review about recent advance in HCC gene therapy with RNAi.
3.Application of alpha-fetoprotein in molecular therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma
International Journal of Surgery 2011;38(9):636-639
Alpha-fetoprotein is an important molecular marker for clinical diagnosis, evaluation of curative effect and prognosis of cancer for long time, especially for hepatocellular carcinoma. But for physiological function of alpha-fetoprotein, we know less than its clinical significance. So here this article presents a review about physiological function of alpha-fetoprotein and its application in molecular therapy of hepatocellular carcinoma.

Sicknesses caused by colonic transit dysfunction are commonly seen in clinical practice. The transit dysfunction of the colon has been studied in recent decades on the primary abnormalitie, the secondary damage of the colon enteric nervous system, the distribution of Cajal interstitial cells with the c-kit protein expression of its surface, the damage of smooth muscle by autoimmune, the absorption of water by colon, viral infections and the genetic aspects.

Objective To investigate the influence of NS-398, a selective cyclooxygenase(COX)-2 inhibitor, on the proliferation and apoptosis of colorectal cancer cell HT-29, and to explore its potential mechanism. Methods Cultured HT-29 cells were treated with NS-398. MTT assay and flow cytometry were used to measure the proliferation and apoptosis. RT-PCR analysis was performed to measure the level of COX-2 mRNA expression at different time points in HT-29 cells. The expression of prostaglandin (PG)E2,Cyclin D1 and Bcl-2 were measured by ELISA and Western blot, respectively. Results High expression of COX-2 mRNA was detected in colorectal cancer cell line HT-29 and no obvious change of COX-2 mRNA was found after the treatment of NS-398 . NS-398 inhibited the cells proliferation and induced apoptosis in a dose-and time-dependent manner, and resulted in a significant down-regulation of Cyclin D1, Bcl-2 and PGE2.Conclusions Our results show that NS-398 may inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of colon cancer cell lines HT-29 through decreasing expression of Cyclin D1 and Bcl-2 . COX-2 activity rather than its mRNA expression was related to NS-398-mediated pathway on HT-29 cells. This may be a new interfering target of selective COX-2 inhibitor on colon cancer.

Journal of Clinical Hepatology 2015;31(5):678-680
Pancreatic cancer is one of common malignant tumors in the digestive system. There is still no effective means for the early diag-nosis of pancreatic cancer. As a mixture of oral gland secretion and oral mucosal transudate, saliva contains abundant biological information including microorganisms, proteins, and nucleic acids, which will change when the disease occurs. So saliva can be used for the early diag-nosis of pancreatic cancer.Through summarizing and analyzing the current studies and advantages of its application for early diagnosis, this article suggests that saliva bioinformatics holds promise for the application in the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

ObjectiveTo study the relationship between the expression of carbohydrate antigen 72-4(CA72-4) in pathology negative lymph nodes from patients with gastric carcinoma and micrometastases. MethodsA total of 385 perigastric negative lymph nodes from 65 patients were immunohistochemically stained with tumor-associated glycoprotein by S-P. ResultsThe lymphatic micrometastases of gastric carcinoma were identified in 14 of 65 patients (21.5%) and in 26 of 385 negative-nodes (6.8%). The incidence of micrometastases was significantly higher in patients with diffuse type than intestinal type(35.5% vs. 8.8%,P

Objective To study the changes of lipopolysaccharide binding protein (LBP) in the serum of Wistar rats with obstructive jaundice and to investigate its potential mechanism. Methods Eighty male Wistar rats were randomly divided into obstructive jaundice group (OJ group, n =40) and sham operation group (SO group, n =40). Before operation and the 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th day after common bile duct ligation, the levels of LBP, endotoxin, tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF ?) and interleukin 6 (IL 6) in plasma were detected in all the rats. Results LBP levels in serum increased significantly in OJ group on the 10th day after operation compared with those of SO group. Moreover, LBP levels gradually increased in OJ group with the prolongation of obstructive time. A positive correlation existed between serum LBP and plasma endotoxin, TNF ? and IL 6.Conclusion The study demonstrates that LBP in serum is high and plays an important role in the pathogenesis of multiple organ injury secondary to obstructive jaundice. It may be an appropriate way to treat patients with obstructive jaundice by decreasing LBP levels in serum.

Objective To explore the expression of insulin-like growth factors and their receptor (IGF- I R) in a human colorectal cancer cell line HT-29, and the effect of two IGF- I R monoclonal antibodies on the biological behavior of HT-29 cell lines. Methods Immunohistochemistry was used to test the expression of IGF- I R in HT-29 cell lines. MTT assay was used to determine the anti-proliferation effects of IGF- I R monoclonal antibody (McAb). Apoptosis percentage was estimated by flow cytometry ( FCM). Results IGF- I R was expressed in the membranes of HT-29 cell lines. McAb of IGH- I R can inhibit the proliferation of HT-29 cell lines in a dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rate of HT-29 cells treated by IGF- I R McAb was higher than that of control group (P

Chinese Journal of Medical Education Research 2012;11(2):154-157
Objectives To investigate medical students' satisfaction degree clinical practice,to find out the shortages of the clinical practice teaching, and to further put forward the measures of clinical practice. Methods By using a selfdesigned questionnaire,115 student interns were surveyed with anonymous questions,to collect data about the satisfaction degree of the hospital teaching conditions, conditions of teachers, practice quality of clinical departments, management department intern management work, the practical effect and views of clinical practice and other information.99 effective copies were retrieved using Excel analyze data. Results Interns' overall satisfaction with clinical practice is not high, and the satisfaction degree to the management department' work is the lowest, the satisfaction degree to the conditions of teachers of hospital is the highest. Conclusion Medical students'clin-ical practice satisfaction needs improving. To this end,we should improve the system and teaching conditions and strengthen management to meet the needs of students and improve their practice quality.
