Journal of Chongqing Medical University 2007;0(07):-
Objective:To study the inhibitory activity of sulbactam, clavulanic acid and tazobactam on the clinical bacterium which produces ?-lactamase.Compare the inhibitory ways and inhibitory effects of three inhibitors. Methods:Study of inhibitory activity of these three ?-lactamase on the 8 bacteria producing ?-lactamase by spectrophotometry.Inhibition constant(K)iwere obtained from dixon plot and the relevance kinetic parameters of inhibition were calculated.Result:All inhibition modality of 3?-lactamase inhibitors are the competitive inhibition.Sulbactam is the weakest of the relative inhibitory effect of three inhibitors, and the strongest is tazobactam. Conclusion:There were differences between inhibitory effects of three enzyme inhibitors on different strains producing ?-lactamase.

Objective To study the protective effect of ginger extract on RBC of X-ray irradiated mice. Methods Mice were given extract of ginger with three doses, namely 9.3 ml/kg bw, 4.7 ml/kg bw and 2.3 ml/kg bw before X-ray irradiation(dose was 2.0 Gy, for two times, the interval was 24 h), 48 hours after the last irradiation, the blood samples were collected and RBC, HCB, HCT, MCV, MCHC, MCH, RDW were examined. Results Compared with the exposed control, RBC, HCB, HCT increased and MCH, RDW decreased significantly in ginger treated groups. Conclusion The ginger extract has a certain effect to prevent RBC from damaging induced by X-ray irradiation in mice.

Objective To explore the spatial distribution of hypertension in recruited Chinese male youth. Methods Maps of spatial distribution on hypertension detection rates in recruited Chinese male youth were produced, using a spatial local interpolation technique with the ArcGIS8.1 software.Cross-validation techniques were used to evaluate the fitness of the distribution maps. Results The spatial distribution of hypertension detection rates in recruited Chinese male youth in 2001 showed that the detectable rate of the hypertension of the recruited male youth was distributed in sections. The sections with a higher rate included Hebei,Shandong and Beijing,as the center of the northern area, and Guangxi,as the center of the southern area. The detectable rate of diastolic pressure was found higher in the areas of northeast and north China than in other places. The prediction error of the cross-validation indicated that the spatial distribution maps of hypertension detecting rates had good fitness to hypertension detecting rates of recruited Chinese male youth. Conclusion There existed in significant spatial difference in hypertension detecting rates of recruited Chinese male youth.Influence of geographical environment, climate, and economy on adolescents' blood pressure should be further studied.

Medical Journal of Chinese People's Liberation Army 1981;0(06):-
This study was aimed to obtain a general knowledge of physical status and its chronological changes in young Chinese recruits. 73 000 physical examination data of young male recruits were collected in 100 sample units selected by the method of cluster sampling from 31 provinces in China. Height, weight, chest circumference, and body mass index(BMI) were analyzed. The results showed that the recruits from Northeast China and North China were the tallest (170 3cm and 170 6cm on average), the heaviest (60 4kg and 61 6kg), their chest circumference largest(83 4cm and 84 6cm), and their BMI were the largest(20 8 and 21 5kg/m 2). Comparing with historical data, the average height increased 6 6cm since 1955 and 4 1cm since 1974. The body weight increased 5 6kg since 1955 and 3 5kg since 1974. Chest circumference increased slightly, the mean values of which in the three periods were 20 3, 20 1 and 19 8kg/m 2, respectively. The recruits from southwertern and south China showed least growth, and their BMI was virtually lower than before. The results of this survey indicated that a significant difference in the physical status among youth recruits from different areas in China. Lack of growth of chest circumference and BMI in youths from some areas should arouse our attention

Objective To investigate the sedative effects and the adverse reactions in the elderly patients received different speed of dexmedetomidine (Dex) intravenous infusion. Methods Eighty elderly cases were randomly divided into four groups. Group D0 was the control group, while the group D1, D2 and D3 were the trial groups. The heart rates, blood pressure, SpO2, Ramsay sedation score and Narcotrend value were recorded. Results The sedation onset time of the D2, D3 group was faster than those in the D0 and D1 groups (P <0.05, respectively), and the duration of sedation in groups D2 and D3 were significantly longer than that in the D0 and D1 groups (P < 0.05). Among the four groups, no significant differences in the incidence of hypotension or bradycardia needed vasopressors or atropine to treat and oxygen saturation were shown (P > 0.05). Conclusion Intravenous infusion of Dex by doses of 0.75 ~ 1.0 μg/(kg·h) during hip surgery in the elderly patients under spinal anesthesia could lead to a safe and effective sedation.

To explore novel monoamine reuptake inhibitor with antidepressant activity, a series of substituted aryl alkanol piperidine derivatives were designed and synthesized. All of them were new compounds, and their structures were confirmed with 1H NMR and HR-MS. The results showed that compounds 4, 5 and 8 displayed strong 5-HT, NA and DA reuptake inhibiting activities in vitro. Among the tested compounds, 4, 5 and 13 exhibited potent antidepressant activities in the mice forced swimming test. Compounds 4 and 5 have potent antidepressant activities and are worth further development.

Objective To study the bioactive constituents of the immature fruits of Citrus aurantium. Methods Silica gel and Sephadex LH-20 were used to isolate the constituents of this plant. The spectroscopic methods were applied for their structural elucidation. Results Four compounds were isolated from the ethanol extract of the immature fruits of C. aurantium. These compounds were elucidated as 3, 5-dihydroxyphenyl 1-O-(6′-O-trans-feruloyl)-?-D-glucopyranoside (Ⅰ), hesperetin (Ⅱ), 4′, 5, 7, 8-tetra- methoxyflavone (Ⅲ), and limonin (Ⅳ). Conclusion Compound Ⅰ is a new phenolic glycoside.

Objective To evaluate the effects of age factors on sedation induced by dexmedetomidine. Methods One hundred and thirty-nine patients, aged 18-103 yr,with body mass index ≤ 30 kg/m2,scheduled for elective surgeries on lower abdomen or lower extremities, were divided into4 groups according to the age:group Ⅰ (18 yr≤age≤44 yr,n=40);group Ⅱ (45 yr≤age≤59 yr,n=38);group Ⅲ (60 yr≤age≤89 yr,n=39);group Ⅳ (≥90 yr,n=22).A catheter was placed in the subarachnoid space at L3,4 interspace, and ropivacaine 10-20 mg was injected via the catheter. At 20 min after ropivacaine injection, dexmedetomidine 1 μg/kg was infused via a pump over 10 min.The onset time and duration of sedation were recorded, and the occurrence of adverse effects such as hypoxemia, bradycardia and hypotension was observed. Results There was no significant difference in the onset time of sedation and incidence of bradycardia among the 4 groups (P>0.05).Compared with group Ⅰ,the duration of sedation was significantly prolonged in Ⅱ-Ⅳ groups (P<0.05).Compared with Ⅱ and Ⅲ groups, the duration of sedation was significantly prolonged in group Ⅳ (P < 0.05).The incidence of hypoxemia and hypotension was significantly higher in group Ⅳ than in Ⅰ-Ⅲ groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Dexmedetomidine-induced sedation is influenced by age factors, the duration of sedation induced by dexmedetomidine is prolonged, and the occurrence of adverse effects is increased, especially if the patients ≥ 90 yr of age.
